"It is a dated hotel but if you are on a budget, this is a good option. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Location-wise, it is in the city center and a few minutes drive to the grocery shops and restaurants."
"Great location with warm Pool and two hot pools outside. Only in our point of view the bathroom is old (super loud AC is connected with the light in the bathroom, no flexible hand shower in the shower), gym is without fresh air and some equipment could be changed."
"The owner and her cute cat (named Paola) welcomed us. The room was clean and cleaned every day. There were plenty of towels. The shower room was a little old, but the water pressure was strong. However, the hot water was surprised by how cold it was every time because it had to go through cold water first. It was fixed in the bathroom, but I was happy that there were tissues. The bar soap had the soothing scent of New Zealand's famous manuka honey. The kitchen was equipped with cutlery. There was a stove, but there was no ventilation fan, so if you want to grill meat, I recommend using the BBQ stove outside. Laundry was $2 for the dryer. If you are looking for a motel in Rotorua, I recommend this motel!"

"Generally speaking, although all the hotels booked during the self-driving trip around New Zealand may not be available in luxury hotels (after all, the population density is very low), basically all the hotel beds are very comfortable and clean, which is really important. During the day, we are basically outside either driving or hiking, so having a comfortable and clean bed when we rest really ensures our sleep quality. I was mentally prepared before arriving at the room every time, but in fact, every time it was a little bit beyond my expectations. Like the one I booked in Rotorua this time, the room was clean and tidy, the bedding and mattress were very comfortable, and there was an extra bed in the room. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen has an oven, the bathroom has a washing machine, and it's very close to the busiest streets. Because the itinerary is very tight, I arrive at the hotel very late every time and leave very early, so the above conditions are considered satisfactory for self-driving travel👍👍"
"I stayed for several days, the room is good, the kitchen utensils are also very complete, there is an electric blanket on the bed, and someone helps us to clean up the room and change the towels, I really feel good 👌👍"
"Solitaire is the top three luxury homestay in Rutua. On the shore of Lake Tarawera, the scenery is beautiful and the food is delicious. It is suitable for couples or couples to relax, not very suitable for children. The price is expensive and the price is not high."
"The cabin room is very distinctive, with the campervan, each independent cabin can be parked next to the quiet privacy, there is a small table and stool at the door to rest, and the outdoor environment is also very good. The front desk service was thoughtful and polite, and would take the initiative to introduce the surrounding tourism projects. I gave me a pack for free when I didn't bring the money to buy washing powder. The room is clean and tidy, there is a simple coffee table, the kitchen is in the courtyard, the guests can use it, there is a children's play room next to it, the humanization is very thoughtful"
"The so-called breakfast was too poor. It only consisted of two slices of bread, two cans of yogurt, a 200ml box of milk, and a few jams. They were placed in the room on the day of check-in. The key is that the yogurt and milk were not placed in the refrigerator. The so-called motel hot springs are just two tiled pools from the 1970s in China."
"Very clean and tidy small courtyard, convenient parking and super convenient shopping. Chinese little brother, also sent coupons for various attractions, thank you very much. Very much like a small hotel, the price is close to the people, stayed for four days, great."

NNur RuzannaVery clean, has everything you need. Wasn’t able to check in by 630pm, called them in advance to inform and arranged for a self check in. Emily was very kind, explained the steps over the phone, and texted again just as a reminder. Self check in was very easy and convenient. Instructions were attached with the key, documents were neatly placed in the room.
Only downside was it wasn’t very close to the supermarket/shops, probably about 15min walk, but it was raining so took us 20min. Driving would have been better.
Please note there’s no lift, so we had to carry our luggage to the 2nd floor.
Overall, would come back again, it was still a great stay!
IIreneI booked for 2 adults and 2 children and clearly had confirmation of 2 children and 2 adults. Called twice 2 days before our trip. The reception male did not know what I was talking about could not find booking then said it was only for 2 adults. He then said he will note down when I explained I booked for 4. Then called again couple of hours before checkin and went through the same thing waslooking forward to relax and they found it hard again to look for my booking and mentioned 2 adults and not including my 2 kids. The hotel was ok and tv channels not enough just 1 movie 1 sports channel. Menu was not really goo VERY EXPENSIVE but food was not okay. Asked for another jug of cold water as we were really thirsty but the lady said they can't provide a JUG of water so ended up organizing uber. Staff need to be abit more upto date with everything etc..
MMitchellRoom was very disappointing. We thought we would be staying in the original hotel building however our room was in an additional newer building down the road. The room has a poor layout, furniture was worn, carpet was dirty, curtain rail rusting, poor tiling and painting. Did not have the historic special feeling we expected. Photos looked 4 stars, room looked 1 star in the flesh. The room was expensive compared to other options in town. We couldn't believe it and wanted to cancel our 2nd night. Staff were great but the room was not what we wanted
AAnonymous UserTo be honest nothing bad about this hotel as others mentioned. The staff manager at the front desk is super nice and helped with all sorts of request. Room is in good but not luxury condition which is kind of expected. Pool is closed.
GGuest UserThey have great customer service. Are very polite and easy to talk to. The only two sad things was that I asked for our room to be cleaned while I took the kids out in the morning around 8. But when I arrived back in the afternoon around 4pm, it was not yet cleaned. Also the shower head was very hard to use. Maybe it has some plugging issues. The water comes out outwards, not focused in the middle.
AAnonymous UserHotel is located at city centre and we found the room to be comfortable and with good basic amenities. No room slipper, shaver like most hotels in Asia, we were provided with shower gel, shampoo, shower cap, vanity kit. Hotel also has gym, pool and hot tub. Overall a pleasant stay with comfortable bed.
SSiew KhimThe room is clean and spacious. The breakfast quality can be improved. It’s clean but presentation can be better. The buffet spread can be more, food taste good.
Will recommend my friends.
GGuest UserClean and nice deco room, lovely water view, spacious bathroom, however, the facilities such as gym and cleanliness in public areas can be improved. As to location, if you drive, that’s no a problem at all, would love to recommend this resort.
AAnnM.I recently stayed at Arawa Park Hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is excellent—close to Rotorua’s main attractions and surrounded by beautiful scenery.
The room was spacious, clean, and featured large, comfortable beds. Considering the affordable price, it’s excellent value for money and ideal for anyone looking for a comfortable, budget-friendly stay.
The staff were attentive and friendly, even offering to heat up meals for guests—a thoughtful touch that added convenience. I also appreciated their focus on security, as they took note of my car’s plate number during check-in.
I noticed that the hotel has washing machines and laundry facilities, which could be very useful for longer stays. While I didn’t ask if these are free for guests to use, it’s great to see such amenities available. Clearer information about their usage would be helpful.
One downside was the lack of adaptors in the room, which made charging devices a little inconvenient. Adding adaptors or universal outlets would greatly improve the overall experience for guests.
Overall, Arawa Park Hotel is an excellent choice for a comfortable and affordable stay in Rotorua. With minor tweaks like providing adaptors and clearer communication about amenities, it could be even better.
GGuest UserThis is a three-star hotel, and we have already reported it to Ctrip.
The hotel is a renovated old hotel. The room, especially the toilet, is quite dirty, with yellow-green water stains, but it does not affect the use.
The price is OK. We have reported the hotel problems to the hotel and Ctrip respectively. We hope that the sanitary conditions will be improved.
