"The buffet dinner is very disappointing for $75/each, but the room is quite clean & tidy, this is the second time that no bathrobe supplied since last visit July 2024 even we had requested upon the reception agreed to send someone down. The service attitude from the hotel staff had been declined since changed hand from originally Holiday Inn Rotorua.
There was fire evacuation alarm happening at 5:20am and many people was forced to evacuate to the outdoor where it’s quite cold & windy, we didn’t receive any apology or concern of comfort from the hotel. Looks like is not their business and they don’t care!
But overall, we still will come again in the future as we enjoy the facilities and the location there."
"The owner and her cute cat (named Paola) welcomed us. The room was clean and cleaned every day. There were plenty of towels. The shower room was a little old, but the water pressure was strong. However, the hot water was surprised by how cold it was every time because it had to go through cold water first. It was fixed in the bathroom, but I was happy that there were tissues. The bar soap had the soothing scent of New Zealand's famous manuka honey. The kitchen was equipped with cutlery. There was a stove, but there was no ventilation fan, so if you want to grill meat, I recommend using the BBQ stove outside. Laundry was $2 for the dryer. If you are looking for a motel in Rotorua, I recommend this motel!"

"Generally speaking, although all the hotels booked during the self-driving trip around New Zealand may not be available in luxury hotels (after all, the population density is very low), basically all the hotel beds are very comfortable and clean, which is really important. During the day, we are basically outside either driving or hiking, so having a comfortable and clean bed when we rest really ensures our sleep quality. I was mentally prepared before arriving at the room every time, but in fact, every time it was a little bit beyond my expectations. Like the one I booked in Rotorua this time, the room was clean and tidy, the bedding and mattress were very comfortable, and there was an extra bed in the room. The bed is very comfortable, the kitchen has an oven, the bathroom has a washing machine, and it's very close to the busiest streets. Because the itinerary is very tight, I arrive at the hotel very late every time and leave very early, so the above conditions are considered satisfactory for self-driving travel👍👍"
"I stayed for several days, the room is good, the kitchen utensils are also very complete, there is an electric blanket on the bed, and someone helps us to clean up the room and change the towels, I really feel good 👌👍"
"The cabin room is very distinctive, with the campervan, each independent cabin can be parked next to the quiet privacy, there is a small table and stool at the door to rest, and the outdoor environment is also very good. The front desk service was thoughtful and polite, and would take the initiative to introduce the surrounding tourism projects. I gave me a pack for free when I didn't bring the money to buy washing powder. The room is clean and tidy, there is a simple coffee table, the kitchen is in the courtyard, the guests can use it, there is a children's play room next to it, the humanization is very thoughtful"
"Solitaire is the top three luxury homestay in Rutua. On the shore of Lake Tarawera, the scenery is beautiful and the food is delicious. It is suitable for couples or couples to relax, not very suitable for children. The price is expensive and the price is not high."
"The so-called breakfast was too poor. It only consisted of two slices of bread, two cans of yogurt, a 200ml box of milk, and a few jams. They were placed in the room on the day of check-in. The key is that the yogurt and milk were not placed in the refrigerator. The so-called motel hot springs are just two tiled pools from the 1970s in China."

AAnonymous UserNot great considering the cost to stay. We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to turn up at the reception, and then we had to ask twice for assistance to check in.
Little to no hot water (tepid would be accurate) meant we had to walk out of the complex (with towels and toiletries) and down the main street and back into another room at the other end of the complex to take showers - both nights! Not at all pleasant as it was quite cold and very inconvenient.
And the spa didn’t work and was out of operation. Probably due to no hot water.
No lift meant lugging suitcases up a lot of stairs and no one to help.
Certainly wasn’t a great place to stay. Think we could have stayed somewhere better at half the price and less trouble.
SShipei GladysNice hotel within 10min drive of many attractions and a short walk to the shops at a reasonable price. Nice breakfast with a pancake maker but more variety of hot food will be great!
GGuest UserThey have great customer service. Are very polite and easy to talk to. The only two sad things was that I asked for our room to be cleaned while I took the kids out in the morning around 8. But when I arrived back in the afternoon around 4pm, it was not yet cleaned. Also the shower head was very hard to use. Maybe it has some plugging issues. The water comes out outwards, not focused in the middle.
GGuest UserStayed here for 3 nights and it was a good stay apart from some of the facilities available in the room. Clean rooms however bathroom needs a upgrade. Being a 4 star hotel and still using stained bath tubs with curtain for showers. Also arrived hotel at 4pm (2pm check in time) and was told to wait as rooms were still not ready until 5:30.
JJung GyumThe price was really good and the location was great, literally right across the road from the Skyline Luge. Potentially more rooms than available parking, but no complaints otherwise.
AAnonymous UserHotel is located at city centre and we found the room to be comfortable and with good basic amenities. No room slipper, shaver like most hotels in Asia, we were provided with shower gel, shampoo, shower cap, vanity kit. Hotel also has gym, pool and hot tub. Overall a pleasant stay with comfortable bed.
SSyhui HoStrategically located at the city center, this place offers great convenience to a lot of restaurants nearby. The infamous Polynesian spa is within walking distance (about 5 minutes walk) and other attractions such as government gardens, sulphur point, lake Rotorua etc. are within walking distance. We got a double room for more privacy, basic amenities are available but I do not think there is a hairdryer (I brought mine anyway) so prepare one if you were to stay here.
GGuest UserClean and nice deco room, lovely water view, spacious bathroom, however, the facilities such as gym and cleanliness in public areas can be improved. As to location, if you drive, that’s no a problem at all, would love to recommend this resort.
GGuest UserStayed here for a two day staycation away from Auckland. This hotel was formally Rydges Rotorua. The premises was a little bit dated but otherwise very comfortable and satisfactory. From check in to check out the staff were fantastic. My room was serviced on my second day of the stay which was very much appreciated. I had dinner in the restaurant on the first night of my stay and that was also fantastic. And also a couple of beverages at the bar. I was also upgraded into a room that had a spa bath and a view of the Rotorua racecourse. I would highly recommend this hotel
Llindy namThe room was okay but there was no pool due to maintenance. Also, no common area even for microwave (on the website, there is photo for shared kitchen that’s why we chose here since we have kids so at least we could have easy breakfast) that was shame. Anyway, not too bad for just staying and sleeping for a night though.
