My son and I had a very good stay here. The only downside would be the heating and air in our room was funky. I'll allow one thing: they probably don't have to worry about heat very often. Anyway the thermostat doesn't switch between the two and the front desk, Lee, kept telling me it was an old building. Well, I live in a house that is well over one hundred years old, and work in an office building which has existed since before the battle of the Alamo so I know you can put HVAC and a thermostat in an old building and have it work without having someone come crawl in your ceiling. I'm betting the Emily Morgan owners could sort this with a little effort and money.
Now, on the the good:
Everyone else was very nice. We got great local recommendations for food from another staff member at the front desk. I don't remember his name.
The cleaning ladies were so kind.
Any time we needed anything, we had it fast from the front desk. Like sometimes I wondered how they got it to us so quickly.
Lee, in spite of our interaction over the HVAC, came through with a couple of other little things and was overall a nice dude.
The bartender was nice.
We did not eat at Oro really. We got room service once and the bread pudding was very lackluster.
Everything was very comfy throughout the hotel. We never lacked for scheduling we needed and it's such a short walk to the Riverwalk and shopping and great food.
Fix the HVAC, you'd be 100%.
