The bed was comfortable, the breakfast ( charmingly delivered in a picnic basket) contained the best croissants we’d ever eaten. The manager Erica was a gem. This place is right in the middle of town, but once you close the door, it’s quiet and calm. A truly magical place."

"It's located in an alleyway on the street. There are quite a few rooms, but ours faced the road and was completely uninsulated. You could hear people talking in the hallway, and you could hear the tires of cars driving by. It was even worse when a mannequin drove by. The curtains weren't properly closed. There was light. Our room included breakfast, but since it was supposed to be conditional, it consisted of a small plate of fruit, a mini cup of yogurt, nuts, and bread. Anything else was extra. Staying for two nights was too much."

"The design of the hotel lobby is particularly beautiful! The public area in the lobby is also very cozy. The room was quite big, very beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable to sleep. "Meson Hidalgo stands out for its impeccably appointed rooms and excellent service, particularly from Erica the house manager. The rooms were divine featuring soft beds and rich linens. The bathroom was large with plenty of hot! hot! water perfect for unwinding at the end of the day. Every detail ensured comfort making our stay not just enjoyable but memorable. Be sure to pop into the perfumery on the bottom level. What extraordinary scents. Highly recommend for a luxurious, worry-free experience."

"I hardly ever write hotel reviews but this place was so bad that travellers need to be warned. First of all this is not a boutique hotel (let alone a 4/5 star one as advertised), there’s barely any staff available other than a receptionist. Barely any food offering either. As other travellers noted, the check-in process is a mess, I was chased more than five times before even arriving to sign a credit card authorisation form after I had already been charged for the whole stay. I was travelling at the time without access to a printer but I was told my booking could not be “confirmed and guaranteed” without the form so I was unsure till I got to the place whether I would have a room despite having paid in full. The place is tiny and I’m not talking boutique tiny, just small and badly kept. It also looks much better in pictures than in real life. No soundproofing in rooms so all the noise comes in from the terrace and rooftop making it impossible to rest. Was meant to be given upgrade (rooms were available online) and welcome amenities but received nothing, other than a sad “fruit platter” made up of two apples. Dirty rug in the room. The whole place (staff included) feels unwelcoming and stingy. There’s prices on everything in the room, breakfast is pitiful (just some coffee tea and bread). There is no service and bad management attitude shows they do not care either. There are a million lovely hotels in San Miguel, so do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else."

"Terrible experience. The older woman at the front desk was incredibly rude. She would not refund me the difference for a downgraded suite. The upgraded suite they gave me had a balcony door that would not lock. As a solo female traveler, I told them I didn't feel safe. They offered me a downgraded suite which I was fine with, but would not refund me the difference. I took it of course because the town was sold out. They charge you the full amount when you check in so I had no recourse. Later, they said they fixed the door and I could move back in, but by then I was so angry I didn't want to deal with them. Incredibly rude. The hotel says they are 4 stars, 3 at best. For the money it was not worth it. Also, it's connected to a night club so every night there's loud music until 4 am."

"They ask you to get out at 11.30 or it's extra cost , never served the TV , I took but had no sign, bad they cover you a extra deposit of 1000 for if you suck something, from q they don't warn you until q you have already paid , She gave me the impression of q not washing beds or towels with 1 use and that's why they don't want q dirt, give you a bottle of filled water, God will know if it's grif water or q porq you don't see, there's no food service, There is no parking and if you ask it is extra and outdoor, we arrived and put the air conditioning and shocking the view we opened the windows , in less than two minutes q pass this was touching us the owner that either we opened the windows or we put the air but in a tone Super gross , who haven't the air conditioning caught, I told him q if and he told me and then because he opened the window, he gave us the impression of q spyed us all the time and q there were cameras or something like that was very uncomfortable .
