The location of the hotel is very good, the scenery is beautiful, the facilities are simple and economical. 🚗 Traffic: Easy parking and suitable for self-driving.

4 star rating overall from me. There are imperfections, but I wouldn't read too much in to some of the recent very negative reviews. Located at the far end of Magaluf, towards Cala Vinyes, but within 10 minutes or so walk of the ”bright lights” of the ***** if wanted. I caught public bus A11 from the airport which takes around 40 minutes and drops less than a 10 minute walk away - all for the princely sum of 6.75 euros (that becomes cheaper if you tap on and off using a contactless card - but mine wouldn't work). A taxi is c. 50 euros. The beach is only a couple of minutes walk away out of the front door, albeit the slope / steps are quite steep and, not untypically for Spain, it appears the last couple of steps were never properly finished so have to be exited sidewards. We were a group of middle aged lads, occupying three rooms, one in block 2 (above reception) and two in block 1. The rooms varied but were all clean and tidy, TVs had a choice of UK channels, and (large refillable type) shampoo and shower gel were provided. My mini fridge was fully stocked (water, beer and soft drinks), but the other two rooms weren't (maybe because I'm a Hyatt club member and booked directly?). My safety deposit box needed a new battery that I had to follow up on day 2 for it to be fixed (they wanted me to be present to fix it). This hotel, that I suspect was born from amalgamation of 2 or maybe even 3 hotels, tries to be all things to all people - with clients ranging from young families with children, through couples, groups and the retired. It is large, with multiple pools, and a choice of food and drink venues were available (noting recent reviews about a slow start to the season, low occupancy and limited choice etc). Late afternoon check in was smooth and efficient for me, but I appreciate if bus loads arrive at the same time it could be lengthy. We were all inclusive and food and drink was generally good, albeit as others have noted, you need to keep an eye on things being fully cooked - we had to waste some under cooked chicken. Labelling was also an issue with some missing and others confused - baked beans labelled as ”small black pudding” being an example. See sample menus from Tapas and Burger ”Market Street” venues. We were able to use these ”specialities” at leisure, but I suspect they might be limited or need to be pre-booked in high season. There are some anomalies about what drinks are included - some cocktails are and others aren't. For example, Mojito is extra? The entertainment during our stay was mixed. The (newly arrived) team work hard, but things weren't perfect - the promised music quiz on our last night wasn't delivered for example. That said, the live singers weren't bad. We had a Beatles tribute band, and 90s retro live singers. The pools aren't heated, but were fine once you got in - the weather being mid 20's and sunny when I was there (9th to 13th May). Lovely hotel...although we arrived in a wind storm and the noise in the hotel corridors was loud and rather spooky! Everything calmed down the next day and we enjoyed all the pools, cocktails and spa facilities. Breakfasts and dinners both excellent, car hire really easy (although we asked for the car to be changed as the air conditioning had broken) and there was no sat nav, so it was back to good old map reading! Rooms comfortable and slightly snug. The only downside was our welcome - or lack of it - from a stout, middle aged lady dressed in black, who was miserable, unhelpful and did not create the great first impressions we all hope for when we arrive at a hotel. 10 out of 10 to Monica who helped us with our taxi back to the airport and also the front of house porter who was lovely and picked us up in the free shuttle bus to Paguera. Would we go back? Yes we would

Ok, the full story is, we were blown away by this place, with emphasis on place. The beauty of the coastline, from the vantage point of the pool patio and adjacent restaurant deck, is plainly a sight of pure beauty, on par with any you will find anywhere. But this is only true only if you like the look of lush cliffsides dropping off to sparkling blue seas, interrupted by occasional jagged rocks cutting the soft slope of forested hillsides, and various dollops of terracotta roof-tiles, splotching bits of color adimst the landscape, while above, the vastness of a blue sky meets water everywhere verdant, forest covered hilltops do not. The rooms were fine, clean and luxurious, and the buffet breakfast was a star, failing only in comparison to the scenery, which together made each morning's delightful breakfast a thing one might go to bed dreaming about in anticipation. But why then, 4 stars? Well really it's a rating reflecting our own flaws as hotel guests, I suppose, since we had reserved a room for three (my wife and our daughter who is studying abroad nearby). At the last moment our daughter invited her roommate to join us, and though we knew we had only reserved a room for three, we also knew two college kids could make it work. Upon arriving, the check-in person let us know quite aggressively (from our perspective) just how wrong we were. I would say he definitely made us feel very little like guests, and very much like illegal trespassers, or at the very least interlopers. As guests we admittingly did not deserve four stars, for bringing an unregistered guest and expecting everything would be alright. The clerk at check-in made sure we fully understood how wrong we were.

An honest review… We stayed at the Bonanza Park hotel returning home today. The hotel itself is lovely with beautiful gardens. The breakfasts are amazing & the staff are wonderful. However, for us the area of Illetas is far too quiet and boring (we are a married couple in our 50s). There are a couple of restaurants and that’s it. The only saving grace was the evening entertainment in the hotel opposite, Bonanza Playa but even that was only from 9pm - 10.30pm. Apart from this, there is honestly nothing. Luckily there’s the no.4 bus which is right outside the hotel that takes you into Palma (get off at Joan Carles) for 2 euros per person. It comes about every 10 minutes and is approximately a 20 mins journey. The same bus also goes to Porto Pi which is a large shopping centre and this is approx 8 stops before Palma (Joan Carles). The bus runs all day until around midnight. We also visited Cala Major but didn’t stay long as we found it really run down and rough. There are ‘beaches’ in Illetas but they are more accurately tiny coves that get absolutely rammed. Not a pleasant experience. Although they are beautiful and the water is turquoise blue.

Great location. Facing the beach. But also if you are transported to move around the rest of the island. The room was nothing special but still adequate. The air conditioning works well but a bit noisy for those who are light sleepers. Personally, we preferred to cut it at night. Parking is chargeable. The breakfast is really great! We can't wait to wake up to enjoy it. Note that there is a dress code for dinner at the Cap Roig restaurant as well as for the terrace/pool on the 5th floor, which is prohibited for children.

Just back from a 2 week stay at this hotel. We had a great time and would return. We stayed in a loft junior suite which was very spacious and modern it could have done with a few more drawers but we managed. Each day you get 2 beers, 2 waters and 2 juices free of charge. Pool Area: The pool opened at 10:00 which was great nobody putting towels on sunbeds at stupid o’clock, you never struggle to get a bed anytime of the day. You even have a DJ playing music from 13:00 until later in the afternoon and music playing in the morning. Pool towels are provided as well. Breakfast is served from 08:00-11:00 there is plenty of choice most seating is inside but there are a few tables outdoors. The lifts are not the best we were staying in building 2 which you can’t get to the pool from so you have to go down to the ground and then over to the other building, also the buttons are not that responsive. The hotel is very central and not far from restaurants and bars it is also very close to the buses to Palma (104) and Santa Ponsa (123).

The hotel is so worth it. . The service is also very good, the swimming pool is also very good, and there is a kids club. You can have a buffet at the hotel for dinner. The hotel has a shuttle to the town

Hit and miss I will find this review quite difficult to write as the Cupido has many good points, but, unfortunately for us, I think the negative aspects just about outweighed the positives. The main asset the hotel has is its staff who are hardworking and happy in their roles and constantly engage in a cheerful manner with guests throughout the day... they really are fantastic and a credit to the company. There are little touches that are very pleasing such as for the first welcome drink they don’t just offer you a watered down orange juice or 1/2 inch glass of wine but more or less anything you want from the bar (obviously within reason) such as tea, coffee, glass of wine or full pint of beer... good start! When by the pool or roof terrace the lovely staff will come round and offer you free slices of cold water melon to cool you off a bit... all thoughtful gestures. The rooms appear to be very hit or miss, we started with a definite 'miss' initially with a tiny dark room (no balcony) tucked in the corner of the building with a very small single window looking out onto the blocked out side of someone’s balcony about 3ft. away (see photos) - the bigger window to the right wasn’t ours. Admittedly we booked a room without balcony as we had no choice when booking with Jet2, however, Jet2 don’t appear to charge extra for a balcony room anyway - it was just that they had none left - so this shouldn’t really have affected what room we were allocated. But this is where the lovely staff come into play again, between the manageress Carlota and the lovely receptionist Paula, after 2 nights they managed to swop our room to one that still had no balcony but was bigger, brighter, floor to ceiling window with superb sea view... what a difference! We were 2 weeks half board so you would have thought they’d have put someone that was only staying a few days on B&B in the first room to save us the embarrassment of having to ask to move. We would have been really miserable in that dark room for the whole fortnight. We were half board and are by no means fussy eaters but we thought the evening meal choice very limited even for a small hotel. There was literally one meat, one fish, one pasta and one grill station choice - none of which were very appealing. There isn’t even the choice of something like pizza which is usually on every hotels menu. These were accompanied by a choice of one vegetable and one style of potato. Even my partner who will hoover up anything didn’t enjoy any of the evening meals. But to counteract that the breakfast was okay and the morning machine coffee was the best I’ve had in a long time. As I say hit and miss. The communal areas of the hotel are lovely and everywhere is spotless but, as others have stated, it is in a rather noisy area (even in low season) with street bar music finishing after 2am., people shouting in the street in the early hours and the glass and bin wagons making an awful racket around 6am. which isn’t very condu

I spent a week at this hotel, leaving yesterday. It's clean, modern and in a brilliant location. The staff are friendly as a whole but no more than Tina on reception who made a real effort from arrival through to me leaving to ensure I was getting the best experience. You can tell the difference between people that do the minimum to meet their job description versus people that are genuinely very helpful people, and she was the latter. Abril on reception was also great and handled a situation really well rather than hiding behind red tape. Although the hotel is great, I think the staff make the real difference in whether you would recommend or visit again and because of the mentioned people, I definitely would.
