Stayed a week at the Hotel Metropole and couldn't fault it! Spotlessly clean, our large room (no. 305) had an enormous bed and gorgeous rainfall shower. Full size bottles of good quality shower gel are provided and refilled as necessary so no need to bring any and the same with soap. Lots of soft white towels. The balcony overlooked the busy road but also the sea and the mighty Vesuvius. It was quite fun watching all the Vespas and Fiat 500's and when the doors were closed it was very quiet. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed on a B&B basis and breakfast was great - fresh fruit, juices, lovely croissants, ham, cheese, salami, cereals. Danish pastries etc. We did eat dinner one night which they offer to guests for 25 euros for 3 courses. It was very good. There's a big bar serving reasonably priced drinks. The bar could do with some comfy sofas as the chairs are quite formal but there are comfortable chairs by the reception area. The pool and areas around it are lovely with sunbeds and umbrellas, although there could be a couple more umbrellas poolside. The friendly waiters will bring drinks and food to you and there's a toilet by the pool so you don't have to go into the hotel. A 20 minute walk down the hill into beautiful Sorrento itself with all the shops, bars and restaurants. We loved the Hotel Metropole and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Lovely hotel great views of Vesuvius. Just outside Sorrento enough to be away from hustle and bustle, easy walk down and cheap bus back up if you don't wish to walk 1.50 euros with ticket. Room clean, lovely white towels and linen, view from balcony of garden with olive grove.. Air con not on yet but needs to be. Pool freezing but refreshing, needs leaves etc cleaning out. Plenty of sunbeds and seats. Reception helpful and welcoming. Resteraunt AMAZING, staff helpful and friendly cant do enough, food was fantastic 3 choices per course for evening meal, what a great chef they have. Bottles of wine very reasonable and you can save for the next evening. Breakfast well what a choice. It's a great 3/4 star hotel at 3/4 star prices. 2euro tourist tax pppn very reasonable. Couldn't wish for anymore and will return.

Stayed here for a week at the end of April 2024. It was such a lovely stay and the Hotel was great. We had a twin room, garden view on the 1st floor. I liked the decor of the room which was a traditional style. The rooms were cleaned every day and were spotless. The rest of the Hotel was the same. The staff were all lovely. Very professional and friendly and happy to help. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was very good. Each night was a 3 course menu with a choice of 3 options for each course. Regarding the walk to the centre of Sorrento and the road. It is the case that there is no distinct path for a small part of the walk. We didn’t find this to be an issue though. The cars know you’re there and give you plenty of room. The walk down is about 15 minutes. There are buses however. The only minor issue we had was that the noise from the adjoining rooms. It did carry through quite a bit. We did have quite noisy neighbours, so no fault of the Hotel. I’d highly recommend this Hotel.

Writing this a bit late- stayed mid April. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time in Sorrento. Hotel Metropole is the perfect base for exploring Sorrento and the surrounding area. We went half board and Breakfast was your standard continental. Dinner was a set menu but there were plenty of options to pick from. The waiting staff were so kind and welcoming and gave suggestions on what to do in the area. Room was cleaned everyday which was nice and also had a safe and mini fridge. The fridge had drinks in it that you could pay for but we just bought some from the shop and put them in the fridge to keep them cool. Sorrento centre is about a 15-20 minute walk and the first 5 minutes there is no path but you get used to it and the drivers leave plenty of room. You can get the bus to the town but we walked as the view was picturesque. Overall, a fabulous stay and could not fault the staff at all. Would definitely stay again.

A lovely hotel with great food and the staff are so friendly and helpful. It is a little dated in some areas but then it’s a 3 star. Our room was lovely and looked across at the volcano and Naples. Pool is fine although this time of year a little chilly so if you like your open water swimming, then it’s spot on 😀. Had a great week staying here and would defo come back 👍 You can walk down to Sorrento centre…about 15/20min, although there are buses every 20 minutes which cost €2 per person. You can get a taxi but they can be quite expensive for such a short journey.

Wonderful staff and service, only three star but nothing was too much trouble. We felt valued and special. Lovely pool area and rooms. Slight walk into the centre some on a main room but otherwise no complaints. Would recommend and stay again. Angela and Pam

Just returned from a week staying at the Hotel Metropole Sorrento with Jet2 Holidays. I can't recommend this hotel enough. The staff from all depar**ents (reception, restaurant, reception, cleaning, bar etc) were all attentive and very friendly. They made you feel extremely welcome. The restaurant team took care of our special dietary requirements (vegetarian) and provided a number of choices at each evening meal. It was well worth taking the half board option. The food was delicious. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The reception staff offered advise on things to do in the area and always greeted you when you walked by. The outside space including the terraces and swimming pool gave great views of the bay and Vesuvius. The bar service in this area was great too! We had a great room (212) with fabulous views of the bay and Vesuvius from our balcony. Before we arrived we were a little concerned over the comments about the busy road and the walk into Sorrento. Yes, it is a busy road with no pavement for a short part of the walk however, this wasn't a problem as vehicles gave enough room for you to walk. You just need to watch and take time crossing the road outside of the hotel during the morning and evening rush hour! We didn't have an issue with road noise. The double glazing was great and we didn't hear a thing. We will back back. Thanks to all the staff at the hotel. You are a fantastic team.

Me and my boyfriend booked through Jet2 & stayed here for a week in June 2023 (my review is very long overdue). We originally booked a superior room with a sea view, however upon arrival the hotel had very kindly upgraded us to a Junior Suite (room 307). The room was located on the top floor on the end right of the hotel. The room was beautiful, and had recently been renovated. We had a front and back balcony, the room itself was very spacious with lots of wardrobe space - a closet on either side of the room. There is a flat screen TV, we linked our phones to the TV to watch Netflix. There is a safety deposit box (free) and also a mini fridge- we just put our own drinks in here, but you can pay for the drinks stocked in the fridge too. There is a kettle and tea and coffee facilities in the room also. The hotel and room were spotless- the room was made up every day. The bathroom was also lovely with a walk in shower. They have hair dryers on the wall- I didn’t bring my own. Breakfast had good variety- pancakes, toast, pastries, cakes, fresh fruits, cereal, juices & also scrambled eggs & sausages. The staff at breakfast are lovely and made us cappuccino’s every morning. We didn’t eat lunch or dinner at the hotel so can’t comment on this. There is a family run restaurant next door to the hotel which I think is very reasonably priced compared to some of the restaurants in the very centre of Sorrento and is equally as nice. We had dinner here twice because really enjoyed it- the desserts are delicious, especially the tiramisu! We didn’t book here we just turned up, but we did book some restaurants in the Centre of Sorrento on an evening, I did this before we flew and our favourites were: Ristorante S’Antonio Pizzeria, L’Abate, Enjoy the Little Things Bistro. The pool area is also lovely, plenty of sun beds & you can order drinks and settle the bill when you check out. The walk from the hotel to Sorrento Centre is about 15/20 minutes. There is no path for about 5 minutes on the walk from the hotel to the centre, which appears intimidating but isn’t as scary as it looks- I managed fine and I was very nervous about this. The cars and bikes leave you plenty of room and after a few minutes the rest of the walk is on a path, so this didn’t put us off the location of the hotel at all. You can easily get the bus to and from the centre if preferred, I believe you buy tickets from reception and the bus times are stated on the hotel website / can ask reception but we didn’t use the bus service as we thought the walk was OK. It might be a bit of a struggle getting up the hill to the hotel if you have mobility issues. I cannot fault this hotel at all, we had a really lovely holiday and we have actually booked to stay here again next year for a week and are so excited to go back. This time we have booked half board. We did also take the ferry to Positano & Capri and do day trips here. We bought our ferry tickets a few days in advance down near the por

Great value hotel. Comfortable and casual vibe. Our room had a balcony overlooking main road with sea in distance. Noise from the road was loud but with doors closed, the room was quiet and cool. Lovely outdoor swimming pool, unheated but perfect temperature on a hot day. Food was fine, nothing fancy but perfectly adequate. Drinks from the bar were reasonably priced. Good buffet breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff working in the restaurant. The walk into town takes about 20 minutes. The first 300 yards are tricky as there's no pavement. But, it's not bad once you've got used to it. And at night the road is floodlit. There's lots of other people walking on this stretch of road which helps.
