The Hotel was beautiful with amazing panoramic views over the Bay of Naples. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Facilities were great and the courtesy bus into town was regular and dependable. Only concern was the bus didn’t run between boo and 3pm and the walk into town took 20 mins

We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in this beautiful place. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff; they were attentive but not overbearing and everyone was so friendly and hospitable. We recommend having a sea view. We loved looking at Vesuvius, watching the boats and cruise ships. We also enjoyed the walks into the hills behind the hotel.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel President for 10 days on the recommendation of a friend. It did not disappoint. The hotel is spotlessly clean, well maintained, in a quiet location and has absolutely fantastic views. We enjoyed the walk downhill from the hotel to Marina Grande/Sorrento along a little zigzag road through lemon groves with fantastic views. We did walk back up again (there are plenty of low walls under the trees should you need to rest your legs), but preferred to use the hotel’s courtesy bus. We didn’t use the bus in the evenings and never had any trouble getting a seat during the daytime. Breakfasts were plentiful, we particularly enjoyed the omelettes and dinners were excellent. It was nice to have table service and Luigi always recommended good local wines for us to try. We had booked our trip to Vesuvius and Pompeii before we travelled however we arranged a boat trip to Amalfi and Positano through the hotel; it is possible to arrange a trip to Capri through the hotel too.

Staying for a week at Grand Hotel Presidente. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't tell you that there's a chance you won't be able to get on the shuttle bus that picks up from town. It only runs every hour with a 3 hour gap between 1 and 4pm. Arrived today for the 3.50pm pick up but it was completely full even with people standing filling the whole coach. Had to stand in the rain to wait up to an hour for the next bus. Went to find a taxi at the station but there was a long queue and no taxis waiting. Went back to wait for the hotel bus. The location you have to wait is a very busy road with a very narrow pavement where crowds of people have to wait for buses to collect them. The hotel gives no warning that you may not be able to get on the bus (for example with suggestions to make sure you start queuing very early) or what you could do if you can't get on the bus. It's around a 35-40 min round trip to/from the hotel in the often heavy traffic so even if they send the bus back straight away you're still waiting in a horrible noisy street. It's really not a 4 star experience. The hotel should anticipate that certain buses will be oversubscribed and to prepare for this, as going into town is key if you want to do anything other than stay at the hotel. Sorrento itself is chaotic, busy with traffic, hundreds of polluting mopeds, and crowds of people, I was quite dissapointed and really think it's overrated. There are nicer places to go. The hotel would be fine if you want to stay in the hotel all week and not visit Sorrento. If getting into Sorrento is an important part of the holiday I'd recommend a hotel nearer the town.

This hotel absolutely did not disappoint!! . Iv never been one for a review but this deserves it - credit to all staff specially MARIA GRATZIA what a pleasant wonderful woman she was , she was the cleaner on my floor room 206 ! Booked sea view HIGHLY recommend the little extra value - we ended up with jacuzzi on the balcony which was amazing . Shuttle every hour from the hotel to sorrento driver in the night can’t remember his name but he also deserves a shout out ! First time in Italy and grand hotel president made it that extra bit special .

This is a great hotel. The staff cannot do enough for you. The food is very good. I mean really good !!!! We paid for a sea view. If you can pay the extra do it. It makes all the difference. Views are amazing. Breakfast or dinner was a joy. The hotel coach to sorrento center works well. We did miss the last bus one night and it cost €39 for a cab but it was worth it You cannot walk up the hill to get to the hotel. It is steep.
