"The room was bright, clean, practical, and fully equipped. In this day and age where everyone's glued to their phones, I was pleasantly surprised to find a projector in the room. Watching shows in a dimly lit environment was great, and there were plenty of programs to choose from. The complimentary breakfast was excellent! There was congee, five or six hot and cold side dishes, fried noodles, steamed dumplings, mini steamed buns, twisted rolls, regular steamed buns, and eggs – a good variety of nutritious and delicious options. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, patient, and thorough, answering all my questions. The shuttle driver was efficient, considerate, and a fantastic driver. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd definitely stay here again."

AAnonymous UserThe hotel service was excellent, always responsive to our needs and going above and beyond to satisfy guests. No matter the time, they were always quick to assist. The service even started before we arrived on the island; hotel staff contacted us days in advance to confirm our needs during our stay, reminded us about the ferry tickets required for the island, and even helped us book them. After adding the concierge on WeChat, they sent us information about hotel and island activities, and could assist with advance bookings and ticket reservations. Upon arrival, the concierge met us at the pier and helped with our luggage. Any questions we had during our stay were answered instantly via WeChat. When we checked out, they even gave us a souvenir and helped transport our luggage back to the pier. Considering we had a lot of luggage, a staff member specifically accompanied us on the ferry, helping with our bags the entire way. The whole stay felt very warm and reassuring; it’s a hotel full of human touch. The hotel environment is very quiet, with an ecological park next to it. Walking through the park leads to the beach, and the coastline is beautiful and great for walks. A truly excellent stay!

We were so pleasantly surprised to find this suite that could accommodate all of us in one room! No need to split up, it was lively and comfortable the whole time, and our travel happiness factor was off the charts~ The bathroom design was especially thoughtful, with a complete wet/dry separation, and the shower and toilet were independently separated. The double sink design was fantastic! We could all get ready and wash up at the same time without feeling cramped; it even had a bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day of fun~ One side of the room offered a sea view. While not a full frontal sea view, the expansive vista and ambiance were amazing, and every photo turned out beautifully. The amenities were comprehensive. The first round of drinks in the room's mini-fridge was complimentary, and it also came with a full tea set, wine glasses, along with free tea bags and coffee, making it convenient for a drink or a chat over tea. The room type was a king bed plus a sofa bed, so five people staying didn't feel crowded at all. You can contact housekeeping to request extra blankets! The hotel service was truly attentive! Before check-in, our dedicated butler proactively communicated about our arrival time and followed up attentively throughout. After check-in, any request was met promptly, with detailed and unperfunctory service. They even offered complimentary drinks from the bar. The service experience was top-notch! The breakfast spread was rich and varied, a combination of Chinese and Western options, and very delicious~ Overall, the room was clean and tidy with excellent natural light. The hotel is located directly opposite the beach, though the area is a bit secluded, perfect for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. The only minor regret was not having enough time to experience facilities like the gym and swimming pool. Also, there were few indoor seats; it would be even better with a couple more chairs. Overall, both the value for money and the experience were excellent. It's the top choice for group travel, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Xiamen!

The facilities might not be as shiny and new as a recently built hotel, but its location is absolutely superb, right in the heart of the city. The area around the hotel is packed with dining options, from local specialties to chain restaurants – whether you're looking for a quick meal or planning a leisurely dinner, you'll find plenty of choices within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient for food. The hotel also features a gym, a swimming pool, and a sauna, which my kids really enjoyed. What truly made our stay pleasant was the dedicated butler service. Our butler proactively contacted us before arrival to discuss our needs and was incredibly helpful with everything from check-in instructions to following up on special requests. The service was thoughtful and attentive.

My wife even declared it 'the best hotel we've ever stayed at in China (no exceptions)'. Six months later, during the Dragon Boat Festival, we returned with high expectations for our second visit. However, perhaps because our first experience set the bar so high, this stay unfortunately left us with a few disappointments. **Disappointing Aspects of Our Experience** Room Scent Management Decline: Last year, the room's exclusive fragrance made us feel instantly welcome upon entering – a detail my wife particularly loved. This year, the fragrance was gone, replaced by a noticeable damp and musty smell, which significantly detracted from our stay. Executive Lounge Offerings Shrunk: While the service team remained attentive, the food and beverage replenishment was clearly insufficient and slow. During afternoon tea, after the fried cod fillets sold out, they were merely replaced with fried potato rings. For happy hour, the stir-fried rice noodles were replaced directly with plain white rice. For a hotel positioned as luxury, this level of quality control feels rather perfunctory. Package Benefits Not Fulfilled: We purchased two packages, each for one night, which should have entitled us to two welcome gifts (mascots). However, we only received one. It's unclear if this was an oversight or if they assumed a merge, but it was a minor disappointment in terms of attention to detail. **Highlights That Remained Consistent** Efficient Service Response: Whenever we encountered an issue, the frontline staff's attitude and their solutions were prompt and professional, demonstrating excellent service quality. Consistent Breakfast Quality: This remains a strong point of the hotel. We highly recommend the fresh beef soup, Shacha noodles (a local specialty), and the freshly squeezed juices. The quality was as good as ever. **Sincere Suggestions for Management** Balancing Positioning and Quality Control: The hotel has upgraded its ranking from a top luxury list to a 'Luxury Gold Diamond' list. While the positioning has improved, the quality control seems to have slipped. In today's pursuit of profit, it's crucial to maintain the fundamental quality standards expected of a luxury hotel, as this is the core competitive advantage that guests remember. Considering Value for Money with Group Deals: This year's 'Gold Deluxe Sea View Room' package was cheaper per night than last year, but the reduced quality of accompanying amenities complicates the 'value for money' aspect. I hope management can find a better balance between economic realities and profitability, so that the dedicated service of the frontline staff is not overshadowed by a decline in facilities and offerings. **Conclusion** I truly appreciate the dedication of the hotel's frontline staff; everyone is clearly striving to enhance the guest experience. As for whether we'll choose Fairmont again on our next visit to Xiamen, that remains to be seen. We look forward to a future return, hoping to recapture the surprise and delight of our first encounter.

The soundproofing is excellent, ensuring an undisturbed night's sleep, and all amenities are complete and well-maintained. The service was truly impeccable. A special shout-out to Lobby Manager Wu Yanzu for being so thoughtful and enthusiastic, and the housekeeping staff were meticulous and attentive. LLiziTraveling with my kids to Xiamen, I chose the Shangri-La Hotel and the experience exceeded my expectations – it definitely deserves a rave review! The hotel offers a fantastic array of family-friendly activities. The kids' club and craft workshops kept them entertained all day long with something new to do. The biggest surprise was the exclusive beachcombing activity; the guide was professional and reliable, and they even provided buckets, shovels, and protective gear beforehand. Taking the kids to collect shells and catch little crabs by the sea was an absolute delight, connecting them with nature. A special thank you to Irene, our concierge, who proactively helped us book all the family activities before we even checked in, and to Yulia, who patiently answered all our travel questions and arranged a late check-out. Their service was thoughtful and thorough, always responding promptly to any request. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location right by the beach made it super convenient for taking the kids out. This is definitely our top choice for a stress-free family vacation, and we'll be back here on our next visit to Xiamen.

The room was spotless, like it had just been renovated, and the mattress was just the right firmness – I slept like a baby! The location is absolutely fantastic! There are tons of shops just a few hundred meters downstairs, which is perfect for late-night snacks. The soundproofing in the room is great, and the sea and night views from the window are stunning. Definitely excellent value for money! The hot springs and swimming pool experience were also fantastic, and best of all, they're mostly free! 👍

PPaulcuiI've lost count of how many times I've stayed at this hotel; it's always a reliable choice. Since 2019, I must have stayed at least 50 times. While the facilities are showing a little bit of age now (they're still great, thanks to the excellent original design and materials), you can clearly see the effort from all the staff. Their exceptional service more than makes up for any minor wear and tear, truly making it one of the best hotels around. There are three main reasons I'm writing such a detailed review this time: 1. The pool is constantly supervised by staff, genuinely concerned about children's safety. (I'd confidently say no other outdoor pool in Xiamen offers this level of attentiveness.) 2. The dining service is consistently warm and enthusiastic, and the food at the 9th-floor Chinese restaurant is delicious. 3. A special shout-out to the kids' club attendant on the first basement level. They were incredibly friendly; when I asked for a cotton swab, they specifically went to another department to retrieve it and brought it to me. In summary: For a budget of around 1000 RMB in Xiamen, I still highly recommend this hotel. Many five-star hotels today fail to provide truly thoughtful service, but for us, a comfortable and emotionally satisfying experience (which is the most important part) is what we seek in a hotel.

They even called ahead to confirm our check-in. All the hotel staff were very polite and made us feel so welcome.
