Spa hotels in Berlin

The hotel was beautifully decorated and in a great location. We stayed there for 3 nights over New Year's Eve. It must be even more beautiful in the summer. The staff are always available and address any issues promptly. It's also really cool that each elevator plays different music. I would recommend it to everyone.

We stayed for four nights at the Sana Hotel in an apartment. The accommodation was very nice: clean, bright, and comfortable. The only downside was the hotel's wellness area (swimming pool, sauna, and hammam), which was unfortunately very difficult to enjoy. It quickly turns into what feels like a water park because many families come with their children and do not respect the rules. The children run, shout, dive, and jump into the pool, and the parents often do the same. It is impossible to enjoy this area, which is supposed to be peaceful and relaxing. Whether you're in the pool or lying on a sun lounger, you end up getting splashed every time someone jumps into the water. The rules are clearly displayed at the entrance to the wellness area, but there are no hotel staff present to ensure they are respected. The same applies to the rule stating that children are not allowed after 8:00 p.m. Unfortunately, there were children in the wellness area until 11:00 p.m. every evening during our stay. This is a real shame, as the wellness area is of little use if you are looking for peace and relaxation. ****** Wir haben vier Nächte im Sana Hotel in einem Apartment verbracht. Die Unterkunft war sehr gut: sauber, hell und komfortabel. Der einzige negative Punkt war der Wellnessbereich (Schwimmbad, Sauna und Hamam), der leider kaum nutzbar war. Er verwandelt sich schnell in ein regelrechtes Freizeitbad, da viele Familien mit ihren Kindern kommen und sich nicht an die Regeln halten. Die Kinder rennen, schreien, springen und tauchen ständig ins Becken, und auch viele Eltern verhalten sich genauso. Es ist unmöglich, diesen Bereich zu genießen, obwohl er eigentlich der Ruhe und Entspannung dienen soll. Egal, ob man im Wasser ist oder auf einer Liege liegt – bei jedem Sprung ins Becken wird man nass. Die Regeln sind am Eingang des Wellnessbereichs deutlich ausgeschildert, doch es gibt kein Hotelpersonal, das auf deren Einhaltung achtet. Dasselbe gilt für die Regel, dass Kindern der Zutritt nach 20:00 Uhr nicht mehr erlaubt ist. Leider befanden sich während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts jeden Abend bis 23:00 Uhr noch Kinder im Wellnessbereich. Das ist wirklich schade, denn wer Ruhe und Entspannung sucht, kann den Wellnessbereich kaum genießen.

First off, the hotel isn't directly on the main street, which makes it pretty quiet. It's also super convenient, just a 3-5 minute walk to the subway station, so getting anywhere is a breeze. You can reach the airport or train station in about 20-30 minutes by car. Plus, there's a Lidl supermarket just a 3-minute walk away, and it's even open on Sundays! Secondly, the rooms are cleaned daily. They provide a complimentary bottle of mineral water, and if you finish it, they'll replace it during the next day's cleaning. Each room also has a kettle, and, surprisingly for a German hotel, the trash cans all have liners. In the lobby, by the elevators, there's complimentary still and sparkling water, along with apples and pears for guests. And the breakfast selection is wonderfully varied and plentiful.

We chose this hotel to escape the summer heat with our baby, expecting the level of service and professionalism that comes with the JW Marriott brand. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the moment we arrived. We checked in at around 4 PM and were greeted by a very long queue with only one receptionist serving guests. The wait exceeded an hour, and even after reaching the front desk, the check-in process itself took an unusually long time. The biggest issue came when we were informed that the room we had booked was still occupied because another guest, described as a premium member, had not yet checked out. Regardless of the reason, we had paid for that room and expected it to be available at the guaranteed check-in time. Guests should not have to deal with operational issues that are entirely within the hotel’s control. As a temporary solution, we were placed in another room while waiting for our booked room to become available. We ultimately had to wait around five hours before we could finally move into the room we had reserved. This was especially inconvenient while traveling with a baby and disrupted the first day of our stay. The hotel did offer a late check-out as compensation, but that did little to offset the inconvenience, wasted time, and frustration caused by the situation. The issue should never have happened in the first place, and the recovery fell short of what I would expect from a luxury hotel. Overall, this experience was far below the standards I associate with JW Marriott. I hope the hotel improves both its check-in operations and the way it handles situations where booked rooms are not available as promised.

My stay at the InterContinental Berlin was very satisfying. The room was not only exceptionally clean and in great condition, but also very well soundproofed, so I couldn't hear any noise from the next room, allowing me to relax comfortably. The staff's service was friendly and professional, ensuring I had a perfectly pleasant stay without any inconveniences. Highly recommended!

Perfectly located — within easy walking distance to most major sights in Mitte like the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Philharmonic, and Checkpoint Charlie. For places a bit further out, there’s a train station right in front of the hotel, which makes getting around effortless. There’s even a dm grocery store just a minute’s walk away, which was super convenient. The room was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped, with a full set of amenities provided from the start — something surprisingly rare in Europe. Overall, a very comfortable and well-thought-out stay. Highly recommend!

Let's start with the positives: The location is excellent, right next to the U2 subway station and very close to the U6. If you have the Berlin WelcomeCard, getting around by subway and bus is super convenient and saves you a lot of walking. There's a Rewe supermarket across the street with a great selection of food, and their salad bar and hot food counter are both excellent. Now for the negatives: The staff were arrogant and rude. I waited in line to check in for almost 20 minutes when a white man just walked up and stood next to the queue, not bothering to line up. After the person in front of me finished, I walked up to the front desk with him. He said the balding male staff member at the desk had called him over. I told the male receptionist that everyone was queuing and should be served in order, but he insisted he had called that specific white man. At this point, another front desk was free, so I didn't argue and moved to that one. This is where it got even more interesting. When I tried to pay the deposit in cash, the female receptionist said they don't accept cash. Isn't it illegal in any country to refuse legal tender? And who says everyone has a credit card? I didn't want any trouble, so I pulled out my credit card, but for some reason, it wouldn't go through. Finally, this female receptionist said her colleague could accept cash, and indeed, the colleague came over and took the money. But if I hadn't asked, they wouldn't have even given me a receipt. For a hotel costing over 2,000 euros a night, they don't provide bottled water unless you're a Hilton Silver member or higher. The coffee is also terrible instant coffee, the worst among the four hotels I stayed at on this Europe trip. The facilities are old but reasonably well-maintained. In short, besides the location, there are no redeeming qualities.

Great location and well-equipped, including a small kitchenette (though no chef!). The best part was the air conditioning – it was a lifesaver during the heatwave. Excellent value for money. Self-check-in and check-out were convenient. It's right on the border between A and B zones for the subway, and it's only a ten-minute walk if you need to catch a train. There's a large mall nearby with a food court, supermarket, and DM, making it super easy to stock up on essentials. I felt quite safe, as the area is all residential.

The hotel's decor and facilities feel a bit dated, giving it the vibe of an old local establishment. The room was very spacious, more than enough for two people, and the bathroom was also large, though the sink was quite high – perhaps for taller Europeans. There's complimentary water in the room, but it's only replenished when the room is serviced. You need to hang the 'Please Clean' sign on the door if you want housekeeping. We stayed for 4 nights and our room was only cleaned twice, providing only two bottles of water, as we didn't realize we had to hang the sign for cleaning. The hotel has convenient parking for 30 Euros/day. The front desk service was excellent, very warm and attentive, and communication in English was easy. The hotel's location is superb, with an Asian supermarket, Chinese restaurants, local eateries, and Italian restaurants nearby, along with many shopping malls and a 24-hour McDonald's. There was also a Christmas market. It's not far from attractions; a 9.5 km walk will get you to the TV Tower, Museum Island, etc. Driving is also an option, but parking near the attractions is difficult. Overall, I'm very satisfied!

It is a nice hotel. The price for what you get is very good. Gym, pool and room all very good. Only thing that I did not like is that cleaning of room costs extra. They did not change any towels or empited our garbage bins during our stay (4 nights). If we wanted this, it would cost extra. Overall all good.
