We stayed in #28. Best tree house ever. The view off the balcony is one from a tree house. If you love tree houses, this is the one for you. It is small and romantic. The bed was comfy. We needed a 2nd chair for the balcony (which is covered by the way, so if it rains, you are protected). We saw Edwardo taking care of something and told him, and he brought it within 5 minutes. The fairy garden was a nice surprise. The entire place was wonderful. Thanks for a wonderful long weekend. Sitting on the balcony, listening to the frogs at night and the rain on the tin roof ... people pay good money to have apps with that sound, and we had it live!!!! The only thing I would suggest is a folding suitcase rack. It will work well against the wall left of the door. And a few more hangers. Love our stay!

I would recommend for recent reviews to look to Google.com. I initially looked here on reviews, which were a bit dated, Google was more recent. We stayed in the only wooden cabin, which was cabin 16. It was great! We had our own private parking spot, a covered deck to view the lake, as well as cute rocking chairs on the porch. Someone took some good time to make sure the cabin was decorated very homey like a real cabin, which we loved. The inside was clean and had nice soaps and shampoos included, as well as pans and pots for cooking and enough plates and utensils for 4 people. There is a charcoal grill right in front of the porch which made grilling very convenient, and nice to watch the sunset. My kids loved staying in the loft and we had a tight but cozy bedroom downstairs. Now, please keep in mind that it’s a cabin, therefore I feel like there must be expectations that it wouldn’t be overly fancy, but cozy, which it was. My kids enjoyed watching movies on the TV after time in the water. Having a walkway to the beach so close was great. Much of the facility appeared to be under construction (pool closed, construction on buildings) so I expect it will be really nice when done. At night they had lots of picnic tables all lit up which looked beautiful. 4 of us stayed in the cabin for a few weekday nights for under $120 a night and one $69 cleaning fee. To me, that was amazing value for what we got out of it. I would definitely stay again!

I know yall are ready for a real honest review. So let me start of with the road yes it has pot holes it’s a road lol just drive slow . yes it’s dark turn your bright lights on it’s in the woods. check in was fine yes. yes it’s bugs it was outside I saw a spider that I killed and a flying butterfly like bug just bring bug spray you will be ok. yes they take your ID and card info . The bed was comfortable the view was amazing I had cabin 23-24.. yes you can park in front of your cabin but I had to park to the side because other guest got there first which wasn’t a problem. Shopping and food is like 15 minutes away. The pool was not available which was fine with me. Yes I smelt a sewer smell it wasn’t that bad sprayed air freshener and closed the bathroom door. See I came prepared because reading yall reviews almost made me not go but I’m glad I did it was a wonderful experience that I will go back and visit again. Grill was available didn’t use it. Picnic tables are in good shape on the deck. Lounge chairs could be changed out to other chairs that guest can wipe off because rain and moisture has gotten to the ones on the deck maybe put plastic lounge chairs on deck instead.. It has a play area for kids swing set upfront and I also saw some kids playing in the water by the upfront cabins The keys to your room are in a lock box put your code in and open it up I never used a lock box before so it was a little difficult for me and I have long nails just use your car keys to pull the lever down. Call the number on website and they walked me right through no problem. Overall a good stay

The place isn’t nothing like shown on the website. Website states pool under maintenance, the but hasn’t been up and running for years so I found out. But the most important for future guest please check the ac units. Arrive at the long cove cabin 4 at 530 on a 8/13 after a 12 our drive. No hotel personnel on site. After unloading the car for our 4 night stay 1st we were unable to pack due to the fact no where to put your clothes. 2 the throw blanket n pillow that was on the bed looked as if it was there since the 70s (it was gross) the couch in the kitchen also looked as if it hasn’t be vacuumed or clean After about a hour I starting to cough uncontrollably. Then my husband eyes n throat started to bother him. He decided to check the ac unit. Needless to say mold was visible throughout the ac vents. We gather our belongs and left for a nearby hotel. Next day return to office once opened.(manager/owner never bothered to reach out) We demanded we get a refund and reimbursement for our stay at the hotel. Refund for our stay at Long Cove was given, but not for the hotel we had to stay at, again not one peep from the Long Cove itself

We booked this property on line. My husband works in town 3 days a week and we travel 3 hours each way to spend 3 days each week in town. We stumbled upon this resort and it was perfect. We booked Cabin #11. I want to address expectations because I am terribly shocked by other reviews. This is a tiny house/cabin feel. This is in the woods on a lake. Yes- the dirt road leading to the property has bumps. Find me a dirt road in the Carolina’s without bumps etc. We drove a Toyota Highlander and did not have trouble if we slowly drove. I grew up camping as in the real thing. The cabin was clean, nicely decorated, had nice quality linens, all basic cleaning products and ample paper products (tissue, TP and paper towels). There was a blow dryer, iron, ironing board, microwave, fridge and tv. The ac worked as did the ceiling fan. The front office staff was friendly and eager to do right. The “elephant in the room”- yes it is true, the pool is not open. The staff admitted to having some issues as they try to convert to modern pool design and water management. Though if you are there to be at a /tiny camp or cabin you will surely be lured into yesteryear and flock to the lake via the private access beach. to other reviews there have been on-going concerns. I did not chose this property for the pool- I booked to spend much needed bonding time with my husband all the time traveling has worn us thin. Each day we sat on the front porch listening to tunes and connecting with great conversations and laughs. Getting back to basics is important and this is the place to do it. There are all time favorite camping games including horseshoes and corn hole. We had a charcoal grill near our cabin and the solid barbecue taste did not disappoint. Our cabin had a full place setting fo two and all of the items were clean and ready to use. However, the view of the lake from our cabin was so incredible. This is well worth taking the time to unplug and recharge. I am confident this one will grow into a winner.

We anticipated a great weekend. This place has so much potential. That said, our cabin was dirty (empty hot dog wrappers on the porch full of ants), had cockroaches, a sink that didn’t drain (probably contributed to the cockroaches) & scalding hot water or freezing cold water without changing the handle in the shower. I left a message the first night after we kept finding roaches. The staff person called us the next morning when they opened. I told her I wanted to go to another unit for the next night. She said she’d have the property manager call me back. As of this review, I have not heard from anyone. It’s been over 24 hours. I sent an email describing all of my concerns but heard nothing. The place is right on the lake which is cool because there’s a beach on the property. The road leading in to the “resort” is really, really rough. Lots of potholes, very bumpy. Like I said, we wanted to love it and it has lots of potential. Maybe check back with them in a year.
