Days Inn by Wyndham Tucumcari

It was okay, but outside needed some work.

I had reservation from ******* for a king bed room for $85.54. But because there wasn’t a room we book available, they charge me a extra $10. For our room. I don’t understand if my room was reserved and confirmed I shouldn’t had to paid extra even they had to substitute a two bed room for us.

Lobby staff did their job but not very pleasant. Room had two doors, one from outside parking area and one from internal hallway. Key cards wouldn't work in either one. Had to go back in lobby and stand in line to get re-swiped, then only one key card worked one time after several tries. Decided to go for dinner and had to put plastic card between door jam and door to make sure we could get back in room which meant we couldn't bring personal items into room until we got back. Others having problem with key cards also. Hotel is at busy intersection off I-40 and had a lot of road noise. Room was clean and comfortable but suitcase rack was broken and unusable. Lobby and breakfast area small. If more than a few people eating breakfast you had to take your plate back to your room. Adequate for the price but wouldn't stay again.

We had a pleasant room, it was clean. No complaints. The breakfast was quite varied to our surprise. Good choices.

The morning staff person didn’t wipe down the breakfast tables between guests. In such a small space, with only three tables, and her sitting only six feet away, that was ridiculous and not hygienic.

This place is not modern or fancy, but it was clean and close to I40. It made a decent place to spend the night during our trip.

Overall the room was well-appointed and seemed to be updated fairly recently but there were a couple glitches. The door lock didn’t consistently work, and a missing peep-hole in the door had been filled with what looked like a piece of paper towel. The room was clean and comfortable but the sheets looked a little old.
