Hotels near Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria

It was very convenient because it was in the center of the city and there was a supermarket in the basement. All the staff were kind and I had nothing but good impressions. Slippers and bathrobes were also included, so I was able to spend a comfortable life in the room. I don't know if it's the staff cleaning the room or the customer, but it was noisy and I couldn't sleep more than expected from before 8:00 in the morning. Soundproofing may simply be a little weak. Others were satisfied, and it was a hotel that I could recommend to my friends.

Me and my husband were guests of Solana hotel and Spa for the past week and i have to say that our experience was incredible. Regarding accommodation we had a decent room which was always properly cleaned, the only problem that we faced was the thin walls from which we could hear everything going from other rooms. Regarding the food and beverage department, we had various of restaurants to choose such as the Tosca, Prickly Pear, Belini and Top Deck, where we always had a nice dining experience served by polite and kind staff, however a person who left us an impeccable impression was Sara. She always greeted us with a smile, made us amazing cocktails which shows that she is quite good at her job, we enjoyed talking to her. Overall we are satisfied with our stay in the hotel, and would definitely recommend it to others!!!

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. My friend and I were guests at the Bora Bora hotel from the 16th June 2022 until the 20th June 2022 for the DLT MALTA event. Upon arrival we were greeted by a queue outside that lead onto the street. Once at the desk we were told that we needed to pay an ”echo charge” for the duration of our stay. When they took the payment, we were told that our room was not ready as cleaning was being underdone, but little did we know that our rooms would not be ready for a further 6 hours. We were hot, dehydrated and exhausted. We missed out on over half of our day due to the un-helpful reception staff negligence. I suffer from low blood pressure and I needed to rest for a while, but instead I was completely ignored by the curly, dark haired receptionist despite asking for pain killers for my migraine due to the stress that was caused by the hotel. It took me having to wait outside of our room until the cleaner came to open the door for me. When the cleaner arrived she was livid at the fact that our room had been ready for several hours but the reception staff downstairs were communicating something different. The wait time became so bad that a member of staff from Pollen decided to offer us his room just so that we could lay our heads for a short while. I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life on holiday and I will be making a formal complaint on every single platform that I can about my experience at Bora Bora hotel. Please may I add that we were also charged for ice when we requested it at the hotel and when we asked for more tea bags, we were told that we were to use the ones that were given to us on the first day of arrival. Throughout my entire stay at this hotel, I did not feel like I was on holiday.

I was very happy that they treated me kindly and courteously without showing any dislike at all, even though my understanding of English was not good at all.

We were visiting family in the area and had heard great things about this hotel in its previous incarnation as The Dolmen. We were looking forward to staying, but despite a promising start (smooth check in and delicious cookies on arrival), a few things did disappoint. We had paid for a standard room, which was on the second floor. While the room itself was nice enough, the view from the balcony was of a service area, brick wall fire assembly point and maintenance hub, where workmen were milling about constantly in front of our terrace. We asked straight away if we could pay to upgrade to a higher floor or even a sea view, but were told the hotel was completely full. We found this hard to believe in May and outside of the school holidays. The room was as described - standard - but we felt a few small tweaks could have made all the difference. There were 8 hangers in the wardrobe, which is nowhere near enough for a couple. There was also a separate hanging rail in the room, but no extra hangers, so the rail was basically useless. The space would have been better used for a chest of drawers, especially as the bedside cabinets were just tables and had no storage whatsoever. There was also no mirror above the dressing table in the living area, and no hooks either on the back of the door or on any of the wall space for a jacket/robe etc. We had to request extra pillows as only two were provided with no spares in the wardrobe as you’d expect. The bathroom was nice, and the shower was lovely, but there was only a tiny amount of space around the sink for toiletries, despite there being loads of empty space underneath. An additional shelf or unit would have been really useful and would have meant we didn’t have to leave our full toilet bags on the floor. We tried to book a late check out as our flight home wasn’t until the evening, but were told it couldn’t be confirmed either way until after 8am on the day of departure, so we basically had to be up and ready for an 11am check out anyway just in case. We’ve never experienced this before as usually you can pay to book this in advance. Again, in May and outside of the school holidays we weren’t sure why this was a problem. Overall, the hotel has promise, and we could see that when finished the beach and spa areas will be lovely. The pools were great, as were the Azure (buffet) and Ombré (bistro) restaurants. The best breakfast selection we’ve seen in a long while! It would be good to see these small issues addressed before the hotel is fully open later in the summer as its location is great and we would like to come back.

We stayed for 2 nights in early October, after reading the reviews , and before a business meeting on the main Island. The hotel was quite nice, had a lift, room was clean and tidy with a cute 4 poster bed. The ensuite worked well. It is right near a Church. The bus to Victoria is just outside around the Church. There are a number of lovely eateries around, including the Fat Rabbit under the hotel itself. The best part however was Frankie. This manager made the place special and I wish we could have stayed longer. He was helpful, engaged and a fountain of information. He even took our luggage to Port on our last day so we could utilize the morning better. We also appreciated the transport from the airport directly to Gozo , on the car ferry, which we pre-arranged. If there is something that could be improved is that details of what is a breakfast inclusion should be made clearer. Thank you for a lovely stay in Gozo!

Their staff doesn’t comes regularly. One day i had to clean my bin bag and put it outside by myself.This hotel they procided lot of amenities but you have to give them some deposit to get it that's such lame part.but location was good. You can see qawra beach just within 5 min walk. I would say it does worth your money

Staff excellent - informative & friendly - we were upgraded to a balcony studio room overlooking village square & right next to church (possibly helped by fact our friend live in Xwekija). No noise from village or church bells disturbed our sleep. One downside was the rain which soaked the lounger seats . Not noticeable until you sat on them & got rather wet (we learned to bring them inside to prevent reoccurrence). Room cleaned daily & existing covid rules were followed. Sheets, towels changed as requested. Comfy bed. Wish there had been a notice on the jacuzzi bath informing us of their closing off of shower spray (apparently previous guests had been leaving it switched on) to prevent flooding of floor below. Was surprised that we weren’t regularly provided with drinking water although tea/coffee facilities provided. When I asked about the water we were given some more though told it wasn’t policy. Breakfast provided in restaurant next door. Tasty but enormous portions unless you were more specific in your order (which could do). Bus service to other parts of island (including the ‘tourist bus) at side of hotel - outside church. Could get equivalent of our day rider system which could also use on ferry if within time limits (could also get weekly pass). Would go there again or try one of the other Quaint hotels group on Gozo

The room is mini, but very clean and comfortable. The supporting restaurant is excellent. Excellent location, within walking distance of citalic. There is also a Greens supermarket nearby.
