"The room is indeed not big. It would be a bit restrictive for two people to move around in the room at the same time. The bathroom door opens directly in the way and can bump into it accidentally. However, the facilities are complete, neat and clean, and it has good reviews. It is also relatively close to the JR station, you can get there within 10 minutes on foot."

"I spent two nights with my family during the Obon holiday.
There is good access by route bus from Wakayama City Station, and it is convenient to get off at Masagocho bus stop or Prefectural Office Main Gate.
There is a convenience store nearby, so the location is good.
The staff was very kind and courteous throughout my stay, and I felt very comfortable.
Not only the rooms but also every corner of the hotel is thoroughly cleaned, so you can spend your time in a clean environment.
One disappointing point is the aging of the air conditioning equipment. Even when set to MAX, the room temperature never dropped below 26℃.
They kindly accommodated my request for a room change, but they did not resolve the issue.
However, we were able to get through the tropical night by being lent a circulator.
Due to the air conditioning, the facility's rating is a little low, but if you change the season, I think it would be a perfect score.
I would like to use it again in the cooler months."
"Even in a single room, you can spend enough space and afford it.
At night, there was no lighting around and it was pitch black and the entrance to the parking lot was difficult to understand, so I repeated U-turns on the front road three times ..."
"It is a solid place with the feeling of an old business hotel. I received the impression. The response of the hotel man was very gentleman and smart impression."
"The experience at Toyoko Inn Wakayama was very pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located near Wakayama Station and transportation is very convenient. Although the room is small, it is fully equipped, clean and tidy, and the bed is comfortable, ensuring a good sleep quality. The staff is enthusiastic and thoughtful, with a good service attitude, giving people a warm feeling. The breakfast has a wide variety and tastes good, perfect for the start of the day. Overall, Toyoko Inn is a cost-effective choice, very suitable for business trips or family trips, and worth recommending!"
"The facilities in the room are very complete, including refrigerators, microwaves, toothbrushes, combs, and these disposable items. The check-in procedure is simple and fast. When checking out, you only need to insert the room card into the machine. Leaving the hotel is very convenient and saves time on the road. When checking in, each room can choose five snacks, and each person can choose two machine drinks."

Amazing
PPaolaCandeo is right on Wakayama-Shi Train station, which makes it incredibly convenient. Sound-proofing ensures perfect sleep and no disturbance from trains or traffic etc. The staff accepted early check-in at 2pm and were incredibly courteous, professional, English-speaking and kind. Really excellent.
Some large Japanese hotel chains are not entirely geared to the ”international market” and the attitude to non-Japanese guests can be less than ideal.
NOT CANDEO. The staff are comfortable with an international clientele, cheerful and welcoming. How wonderful!
The entire hotel is extremely clean and well-run. Everything says ”professional”. The flower arrangements on each floor are REAL. Flowers are extremely expensive in Japan.
The view from the reception area (Floor 11) is fantastic. The spa (Floor 12) is open air, with a great view and a magical feel.
I enjoyed my stay very much and I hope to return to Candeo soon.
GGuest UserI booked this treasure hotel for the Japanese-style room with sea view. It was my first time to Kata, a small seaside city with a particularly beautiful place. The Taiyu tram is very cute. The hotel has a free shuttle to Kata Station. You can call the hotel in advance to confirm the arrival time on the day. The car was not available until 9 o'clock the next morning, so I walked directly to the station in the morning and arrived in about 20 minutes. Baidu Maps is still very accurate.
There are plain public yukatas and free gray split-toe socks in the room. If you like cute yukatas, you can choose one yourself in the lobby.
The room is a bit like a circle, with a toilet, bathroom and a sofa facing the sea view on the outside. The Japanese tatami is in the box. The area is quite large. The tatami bedding will be laid out when you come in to eat.
The hotel's hot spring faces the sunset, and I soaked for nearly an hour to wait for the sunset. The men's and women's baths will be switched in the morning and evening. The sunset at the seaside is really a great view.
Dinner can be added, it is kaiseki cuisine, and there are really many sea bream dishes.
If you have a chance, you must come to Kata in Wakayama
LLittleAuiI had a great stay at this hotel! The price is very reasonable and absolutely worth it. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a lovely view of Wakayama Castle right from the window — such a special touch. It’s also very convenient if you’re renting a car, as there’s a nearby parking lot where you can stamp your ticket at the hotel for just 1,000 yen per 24 hours. Overall, a clean, pleasant place to stay with a great view and solid value for money. I’d love to go back again!
JJUNThis hotel is located next to the JR Wakayama Station, very convenient for tired travelers who want to travel easy. About 15min walk to Wakayama castle, and resturants within 2 mins walk, literally just downstairs! I will stay here again if I travel nearby.
RRita JeanThis was second stay this year whilst visiting my son. Hotel is a short stroll from main railway station & a large department store with food outlets. Staff at hotel are helpful & polite with a varying grasp of English. The breakfast is reasonable but with room for improvement. For European pallets there was no cheese or cold meats, limited bread choice & only undercooked scrambled eggs but this is common throughout Japan. However, I was disappointed on one aspect. Had been expecting some fresh oranges - Wakayama grows them - on both my visits none appeared. Bicycles are also available for hire & we did this free of charge whilst visiting in April & it was thoroughly enjoyable & a good way to sightsee. I would recommend this hotel.
RRach.CCWA typical traditional Japanese hot spring hotel. The facilities are not new but they are very clean and hygienic. The room has an incomparable sea view, and the hot spring facing the sea makes people feel the peaceful atmosphere. The dinner and breakfast were very exquisite and delicious, but not very luxurious. The location is far away from Wakayama JR. We made an appointment in advance for the hotel's pick-up and drop-off service. Otherwise, apart from taxis, we don't know what public transportation is available to the hotel. It seems that self-driving travel is more suitable.
VVictorLocation 8/10:
close to the JR station where the buses are as well.
close to a convenient store where you can buy all your necessities.
for those who wants to take a taxi, there's one station nearby.
Restaurants are a little too far, the closest sento is a little too far.
Staff 8/10:
mostly self services, teas and water and other stuff near the check in counter. they have staff to clean your beds for your, if you wish (open or close the door to your bed in the morning).
facilities 5/5:
Shower, sinks, and toilets are very clean. They provide the towels for every night you stay there.
AAnonymous UserThe Seaside Inn is located in Wakayama Prefecture, by the sea, with beautiful scenery. The room is small but clean and tidy, with complete facilities, such as refrigerator and air conditioner. Hot spring is a major feature, and Binchotan hot spring is good for the skin. The hotel service is good, but it is a little far from the city, and you need to contact the shuttle bus in advance, and the shuttle bus only leaves at 10 am and returns at 4 pm, which is very inconvenient.
GGuest UserThe double room I booked was so small that I suspected I was given the wrong room, but the toiletries were double, which meant it was this big. It's close to the station, the breakfast was ok, and the service was OK!
