Landhotel Naunheimer Mühle

We went to the Naunheimer Mühle with the family (12 people) for Chris**as dinner on Boxing Day. Corona protective measures were well implemented and also precisely controlled - very positive. The service was very attentive and well organized. The menu was clear, but there was something for every taste (whether menu or a la carte). Appetizers, main courses and desserts were also good and everyone - without exception - tasted good. The only point of criticism from our point of view was the slight discrepancy between the quite high prices and a bit "boring" implemented standard dishes. As I said, the food was very good, as was the quality of the dishes, but it lacked the finesse and something special that you would actually expect from a main course between €20 and €30. The selection on the wine list didn't quite meet our expectations either. In this respect "only" 4 out of 5 points.

The old guest room in the former mill, terrace and garden directly on a side arm of the Lahn are beautiful, pleasant places. The extensions, e.g. the breakfast room, have significantly less charm. Our room in a new building "in the 2nd row" (garden house?) also offered a lot of space and every conceivable comfort (e.g. a very well cooling air conditioning system during our stay in very hot weather), but had nothing nice/cosy... somehow closed gloomy.. Impression: somehow quite good, but also not really great. That's how we felt about our dinner: Conventional menu with few surprises, some tastes (e.g. the mousse with chanterelles...) bland.
