A great room , really comfortable and well appointed. The staff and so helpful and friendly , especially Ben who arranged for us to access our room early to get changed for an event. Breakfast the next day was amazing ! Can’t recommend the Bear high enough

The food was amazing atmosphere was good on a lovely day also went back for the burger shack later on and was served by a lovely chef who shared his ideas for the next few months . Definitely will return soon and highly recommend for a nice family day out

Nice place, very friendly staff and clean rooms. We were two days in the Bear. The pub has a nice atmosphere and is warmly decorated. It is a bite noisy in the rooms in the evening, you hear music and people in the pub but never after midnight. I Do Recommend the Bear

The family and I went for an impromptu Sunday roast over the Bank Holiday weekend. Having driven passed The Bear plenty of times we decided to give it a try. The most striking thing about the place is the building itself. 18th century, we were told by Ben, as he looked after myself and family, bringing us amazing roast dinners (I had the stuffed pork belly which was heavenly) and keeping us well watered. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we have an actual summer so we can enjoy the beautiful pub garden, which Ben tells us his Mother helps look after!

Location was ideal for work. The accommodation was comfortable although I had 2 single beds this time. Food was good, staff fairly attentive. My only criticism - I wasn't given the code to the car park barrier before I arrived. No one answered the buzzer so I had to leave my car in a precarious position while I dipped inside to find out the code.

On a racing weekend at Sandown with friends. Really lovely, lively hotel. Wonderful staff, very tasty breakfast and evening meal. Brilliant atmosphere. Room really nice, beds comfy, powerful shower. Would definitely recommend to stay here.

Really nice pub with rooms of a good standard with good facilities. Easy check in by welcoming staff and good relaxed service throughout our short stay. Good menu and the food was excellent. Good quality wine selection by the glass and bottle and reasonably priced. One gripe, and one easily fixed, shower in our room difficult to use as very stiff, my wife couldn’t switch it on or off. Apart from that a very pleasant experience and would definitely stay again

I spent three nights at The Bear, Esher & it was an enjoyable experience. The room was clean & tidy with an efficient daily service. The staff were friendly and professional. Special mention to Ethan who was serving behind the bar and served meals, he went the extra step in making me feel welcome. The pub grub was excellent at a very reasonable price. I enjoyed the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection. I will stay again on my next trip to the UK & Esher.

Great old building with lovely staff and rooms! Mikey the chef makes awesome breakfast as you want it and Ollie does cracking fresh coffee. Ben in the bar is super friendly and helpful, as are all the staff. This place is a gem. Lovely pub in a lovely location with service that is better than the norm. Highly recommended.
