Most staff quite friendly and helpful! I have the app, and am a Bonvoy member so check in was a breeze! Was given an 8th floor room, so while the view was pretty good (even over the parking lot) the bummers were that 1) ice machine and vending had been removed, were only on floors 2, 4, & 6 so had to travel to get ice 2) the concierge lounge was closed, even for just sitting & enjoying the lake view with a book and coffee, 3) the hotel key took forever to alert the elevator that I belonged on the 8th floor - numerous swipes were needed. I did appreciate that not everyone could access this floor so it was fairly quiet. The room had been remodeled, the bathroom was lovely (that shower!!!) but most furniture was older, seemed just set where ever. Having a comfy chair was nice, fridge was tiny and even tho I had to ask for a microwave, it got to me super quick. Food in the 2 restaurants was good, good portion sizes. Beds were very comfy, slept pretty well. Requests for extra towels was met immediately. Had an issue with bed lamps & outlets but again, was dealt with immediately. The biggest bummer for me, is that the pool was closed and seems to be permanent. Looked like it was an amazing pool area! Weather was dreary so couldn’t enjoy the grounds much but looks like it would be great to walk around, outdoor fire pits weren’t on but looked like a nice feature. The 1 elevator sounds kind of scary sometimes tho it got the job done. If the restaurants do room service I couldn’t see where to do that. Coffee maker has no directions or stir sticks. Lotion/shampoo samples were very nice. Great TV channel options.

Needed to book six rooms for our team, and Nader Judeh was extremely helpful and flexible. What was the extra mile is he was there to introduce himself and make sure the experience was perfect, by offering tips for other services in the future and also knowing what other teams were there to help with dinner areas. Check in was seamless and easy and Mark at the front desk was very helpful. In addition, I made a mishap and cancelled a room by oversight and Mark did everything he could to assist me during a ”sold out” hotel. He went above and beyond to find me another room and get it cleaned quickly. Along with being very kind during my stressful moment. When others step up to provide great customer service it is memorable. The rooms were clean, and very nice as I was able to compare five rooms. Great Hotel!!

We had a fantastic stay here. The staff was amazing and even during a pandemic the wedding was beautiful. Leah was amazing and helpful. Really enjoyed Meg at the front desk and the General manager was willing to help us with anything. Such a blessing to find this fabulous hotel for the wedding and rehearsal dinner. We reserved a Queen suite as a “home base” for my sisters bachelorette party. The room exceeded my expectations and I was very happy with most everything, The hotel, and particularly the room, were spotless. The bedding was wonderful - super soft sheets and great pillows! Mattress was a little firm for my liking, so I didn’t sleep the best, but I’ve slept on worse. Roomy and updated bathroom. There was plenty of space for luggage, clothes and other belongings. It was perfect. The room itself was 5 stars. Check in had me worried when we were told they were running late on housekeeping and it would still be another half hour to an hour. We already arrived an hour past check in time and still needed to get ready for our event. Luckily another staff member overheard what the gentleman told us and told him to get our names first, because “some” rooms were ready, and luckily ours was one of those rooms. (TIP: you can request early check in when booking and this may have helped us ). The gentleman checking in next to us wasn’t so lucky and was not able to check in before his event - I believe he was part of a wedding …..so not cool. The hotel, hallways and room were HOT! Took our room several hours to cool down. Air conditioning wasn’t even on in the hallway. It doesn’t seem like it would matter but when you’re dragging luggage in from the parking lot and it’s already hot outside, it makes a huge difference! Overall it was great with a few minor issues that could happen anywhere. I would definitely stay here again.

Don’t let the pictures online fool you! My stay here did not live up to expectations or my past stays at other Staybridge hotels (or other IHG hotels in other cities around the world, for that matter). However, my stay was not all negative, so let me focus on the positives first. Let me note that while I stayed here for one night while in the process of moving to a new city, I did not have the breakfast here, nor did I use the hotel’s amenities, so this review will skip those parts of the stay. The hotel’s location is very convenient, located just off I-94 which provides easy access to DTW as needed. It is also located to a lot of nearby restaurants and stores, although a bit of a drive from the University of Michigan if you are here for the university. The lobby provides a cheery, refreshing welcome upon entering, and the front desk staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms are also pretty spacious, no surprise given this is a hotel composed of suites. The bed is also very comfortable and I received a good night sleep. But that’s pretty much where it all ends positivity wise… Despite the room being spacious, it seems as if housekeeping does not do their job as the room was very dirty upon entering. There were also stains on the walls and there were even blood stains in certain areas of the washroom. Absolutely disgusting, and especially unacceptable especially during pandemic times! The shower was also below average and water pressure was quite weak. If I had to describe what the shower experience was like at this hotel, it was almost as if the water was trickling. Seriously. It seems as if there are a numerous amount of hotels in close proximity to this one. I would most certainly look at those other options, because other people are pointing out the same flaws as me online. 2 stars seems just right for me given that there were some positives about my stay here.
