Pet-friendly Hotels in Hainan, China

Hainan's second stop was Qixianling, and Junlan Hotel seemed to be the most well-known in the area. It certainly didn't disappoint. The rooms are spread across small villas, with four separate units (up, down, left, right) in each, offering great privacy. Outside the window is a dense rainforest, providing a peaceful and serene atmosphere. Each unit has its own private hot spring pool and a small balcony. The rooms are spacious, perfect for kids to run around. Unlike Atlantis, which is all about excitement, this place offers a different kind of relaxed retreat. The rooms are definitely a bit dated, but they have everything you need, and the cleaning staff is very meticulous. The restaurant food is delicious, with some specialty dishes that are a must-try! The hotel has various hot spring pools and swimming pools. If you have enough time, try them all out; they're open quite late. I want to especially commend the hotel's entire service system. From the greeters to the lobby, the restaurant, the shuttle drivers, and the pool security – everyone was incredibly warm and polite. Since the hotel is quite large, and the accommodations are spread out and deep within the rainforest, shuttle services are available throughout the hotel. You can book ahead or simply flag one down. This was a lifesaver for me, traveling with a child. I could explore freely on foot or easily catch a ride without my child complaining about walking too much. Finally, a few tips for future guests considering Junlan: don't bother bringing big and small bottles of mosquito repellent; the hotel provides it for free (though even drenched in repellent, mosquitoes won't spare any new guest! It's a special 'gift' from the tropical rainforest!). If you plan to hike in the National Forest Park from the hotel, getting a taxi might be difficult. The hotel front desk can arrange for a scenic shuttle to pick you up for 20 yuan per person, which I think is well worth it. While there are public buses outside, I couldn't figure them out and didn't want to walk to the bus stop. When traveling with a child, it's best to minimize hassle. If something can be taken care of for 20 yuan, don't try to save that little bit!

As a frequent business traveler, I've stayed in countless hotels, and this one truly offers incredible value for money! The room layout is well-designed, with a spacious desk and strong Wi-Fi signal, perfectly meeting my work needs. The front desk staff were very efficient with both check-in and check-out, and they even provided a complimentary airport shuttle service, saving me a lot of time and effort. The hotel environment is quiet, ideal for both rest and work, and the surrounding transportation is convenient, making it easy to get to the business district. I highly recommend it to business travelers – a truly reliable hotel!

A big thank you to the owner for providing the apartment. It's a two-room apartment with all the amenities (a washing machine on the balcony with hangers, a refrigerator, a kitchen with a gas stove, two balconies, two large beds, a spacious living room with a TV – just like home 😊). It's quite convenient and flexible for living with children. The only downsides are that sometimes you have to wait a long time for the elevator, there's no daily cleaning, and they don't provide daily water, washing powder, dishwashing gel, or hand soap – you have to buy your own. One of the cabinets also smelled damp and moldy, so we didn't use the kitchenware except for pots and pans. We also heard our neighbors speaking Chinese for a couple of nights; they were having a banquet and the sound was good until 5am... By the way, upon check-in, we were given toothbrushes and toothpaste, garbage bags, toilet paper, toilet seats, and two towels for each day. The owner also met us at 1 a.m. and checked us in without asking for a deposit. You can see the House of Trees from the window ☺️

Our overall stay exceeded expectations! The lobby has a refined ambiance, and the front desk staff were very pleasant. Check-in and check-out were efficient and hassle-free. The room was meticulously cleaned, with a great wet/dry separation in the bathroom and consistently hot water, plus all the necessary toiletries. The soundproofing was excellent, so it was very quiet at night. Downstairs, there's a convenient store and various restaurants, and getting a taxi was easy. Both cleanliness and service were top-notch. Highly recommended!

This stay exceeded my expectations! The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the subway station, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. The front desk lady checked me in quickly and even recommended nearby restaurants. The room was incredibly clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and it was incredibly quiet at night, allowing for a deep sleep. The bathroom had plenty of hot water with just the right pressure, and the toiletries smelled fresh. The breakfast was varied, with both Chinese and Western options, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. They even gave me a small gift upon check-out, which was so heartwarming! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area; the value for money is excellent, and I highly recommend it!

The environment is very good. My family is very satisfied. The room is large and clean. The community environment is also very good. It is only a 10-minute walk from the beach, which is very convenient. The living facilities in the room are complete and suitable for living. There is a swimming pool outside the house. The scenery is very good. The surrounding transportation is also very convenient. It is very comfortable to live~

The B&B is beautiful, and the beach is right downstairs, which is super convenient. All the pictures are genuine. It's pet-friendly, and they even deliver food orders right to your room. We booked a family room with two balconies, so hanging clothes didn't obstruct the beautiful view. The customer service staff were also very responsive and helpful with all our questions.

I chose to stay here for the Haikou Marathon because it's only 3km from the starting line, a quick bike ride away. It's also just 2km from Qilou Old Street, which is super convenient for cycling and city walks. There are plenty of great food options nearby too, definitely worth another visit! The hotel front desk knew I was running the marathon and kindly arranged for a late check-out, which I really appreciated. Thumbs up!

If you're particular about cleanliness and the environment, be prepared for a stay here. The facilities aren't quite up to par with hotels, but if you want to play in the sand, see the ocean, and enjoy the breeze, it's fine. Considering the price, the room I stayed in wasn't worth it. The balcony door handle was broken, and the door wouldn't lock or close properly. A giant spider, with its legs spread wide, appeared in the bathroom. We had a thrilling fight, but luckily, I was quick and nimble, and I defeated it in under a minute! This is a rural area, so many people have dogs. There are several dogs and cats in the B&B. There's a yellow Chinese herdsman who's quite detached and keeps his distance from people. He won't let cats get close, and he'll chase them away. But there's also a black dog who frequently appears, and he has no sense of boundaries and pushes into the crowd. If your baby is afraid of dogs, beware.

Finally checked into Wutong Jiuli in Sanya, and the stay was absolutely fantastic! The most stunning feature was the full-house, massive panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering an unobstructed, direct view of the ocean. Lounging on the sofa in the living room, I could gaze at the deep blue sea during the day and wait for the 'orange sea' sunset in the evening. The scenery was so incredibly therapeutic that I didn't even want to leave. The room decor is simple yet elegant, with a comfortable and clean layout that's perfect for photos. It's very close to the beach, making it super convenient for a stroll by the sea. The entire guesthouse has a quiet and tranquil atmosphere, free from noise, ideal for a slow-paced, relaxing vacation. Waking up to the sight of the ocean, truly immersing myself in the sea breeze and sunset – anyone looking for a peaceful seaside escape must choose this place. This was the most satisfying accommodation of my trip!
