I ended up choosing Rosewood over The Edition, but I was quite disappointed; the service wasn't as great as the reviews suggested. The day before check-in, I received a call from the hotel confirming that a butler would contact me via WeChat to discuss my preferences and any services requiring reservations. However, after leaving my number, no one contacted me until noon on check-in day, so I had to call the hotel again to get a butler assigned. I had mentioned I would arrive before 4 PM, and check-in was on the 14th floor. It was very crowded that day, and I waited in line for about fifteen minutes. The front desk staff kindly upgraded my room, but then I had to wait 50 minutes for it to be cleaned. After finally getting into the room, I waited another half hour for my luggage, calling twice to chase it up. It was quite frustrating; I might as well have carried it up myself. The room was spacious, and although the view wasn't perfectly straight, it seemed like a room specifically used for upgrades. The ocean view, however, was absolutely stunning, and the room was very clean. That evening, I requested a buckwheat pillow and a latex pillow, and the staff thoughtfully tidied up the room and prepared for turn-down service. Breakfast was pretty average; the restaurant was small, and the variety wasn't extensive enough, falling short compared to other luxury hotels. They also didn't proactively mention that there was a menu for additional orders. The most memorable items were the delicious king crab and pork wontons, and the fresh young coconuts were fantastic and readily available. The hotel's public areas are indeed quite small, and being next to the villa area, privacy isn't great. The only real highlight was the 13th-floor pool, but it's also open to non-guests, attracting many influencers for photos. It's best suited for couples.

Stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Sanya for three nights, and it was absolutely amazing! The private beach was uncrowded and beautiful, with the ocean so blue it looked like a jewel. The gardens were full of tropical greenery, making every corner Instagram-worthy. Our room was incredibly comfortable; the bed was so soft, and the amenities smelled lovely. Lying on the balcony, enjoying the sea breeze, was pure bliss!
Our butler, Celia, was wonderful – kind, beautiful, and super reliable. During check-in, she clearly explained all the best dining and activities at the hotel. She was incredibly responsive to all our requests, with no delays whatsoever. The turndown service was also very thoughtful, with every detail taken care of. I truly felt pampered throughout the trip!
The hotel's food was also delicious. The lobster wontons for breakfast were out of this world, and dinner by the sea had such a fantastic ambiance. Next time I'm in Sanya, I'm definitely staying here again!

After exploring countless attractions in Sanya, we decided to switch gears to Lingshui for a relaxing staycation and chose the Raffles Clearwater Bay for two nights.
The butler contacted us the day before via phone to exchange contact information. Upon check-in, we were warmly greeted with a thoughtful glass of orange juice. Our butler, Diana, pleasantly surprised us by upgrading our Sea-view Twin room at Tianhaiju to a Sea-view Suite at Lanhaibay, and because there were three of us, she also arranged for an extra complimentary breakfast. It was a delightful surprise!
The suite was located on a high floor in the Bali wing, spanning nearly 200 square meters. The balcony offered a direct view of the Freedom Lighthouse, a filming location for 'Lost in the Stars,' and overlooked the entire Clearwater Bay. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night was a unique experience. The minibar had a good variety of soft drinks, including Voss and Perrier. Mosquito repellent and medicated oil were also provided. The bathroom featured a Dyson dark gold hairdryer, and while the toiletries were less common brands, the toothpaste had a subtle, pleasant pear scent worth mentioning.
The hotel boasts five dining outlets, including bars. The 'Long Le Bar' offered an enchanting evening ritual accompanied by Steinway piano music, creating a wonderful ambiance. The 'Shadi Village Seafood Buffet' was decent, and the hot pot was delicious, though it was quite windy by the sea. The 'Baiwei Cantonese Restaurant' served exquisite and tasty dishes, and as an Accor member, I received a 10% discount and could charge it to my room. Due to time constraints, we didn't get to try the other two restaurants.
The overall design is a Southeast Asian estate style, with expansive, garden-like grounds. Every corner of the hotel offered a picturesque view. The 'Sky Gate,' 'Fengyu Gate,' and 'Lagoon Pool' were all excellent spots for photoshoots. A special shout-out to Angela, Pulong, and Zeng Lingquan from Platinum Photography within the hotel for their incredibly dedicated and responsible service.
Other facilities included a gym fully equipped with Technogym equipment. There's also a 'Dragon Pavilion/Raffles Club' for villa guests to enjoy afternoon tea. The 'hui'-shaped conference center was beautiful, and the children's center, wedding chapel, and surf shop were all well-appointed.
In summary, while Raffles Clearwater Bay opened in 2013 and shows some age, it has been remarkably well-maintained and renovated. Both the tiles and wooden floors had a wonderfully smooth texture. The staff were polite and enthusiastic, with most greeting us with a nod and a smile. The manager also handled any issues with grace. For those looking for a resort getaway in Sanya, this is definitely an excellent choice.

The butler service was excellent, and they were very responsive to our requests! Having a good butler makes a hotel stay much more relaxed.
However, there are a few areas I think could be improved:
1. The lobby staff showed very little service awareness when it came to greeting and guiding guests who arrived by car.
2. On January 2nd, there were a lot of agricultural machines, possibly for an exhibition or something. There was only one security guard at the entrance, and both security supervision and guest guidance were severely lacking.
3. Finally, on January 3rd, the sun came out, but the lawn's logo letters had been removed. People come to stay at the Westin in Wanning to enjoy the hotel experience, right? Yet, the iconic feature on your front beach was gone, and there was a long row of agricultural machines below the lobby. It was quite perplexing.
The handsome guy at the front desk upgraded me to a room with a higher floor and a better view. The room is uniquely designed, brightly lit and cozy (many hotel rooms are not very brightly lit), which is very satisfactory. We had dinner at the hotel, the restaurant service was very enthusiastic, and they specifically noted that our dishes should be lighter, and the dishes served were really good, thank you 🙏. The hotel is next to the scenic spot. Although it was drizzling, it was still nice to borrow an umbrella from the front desk to walk around. In February, I could smell the faint fragrance of osmanthus and saw many flowers I had never seen before. It is a very good hotel!
Whenever I want to eat seafood, I always like to go to Maniao. The first choice for staying is Lingao Country Garden Golden Beach. The hotel should have been opened for more than ten years. The hotel facilities are well maintained and the service level is excellent. This year, it was quite unexpected that a staff member contacted me in advance the day before check-in, and arranged a room for me in advance and upgraded it. Thank you very much.
I hope that the service level can be maintained for a long time. There are not many good hotels on the west line of Hainan.

I was very satisfied with this hotel, located right in Baoting Qixianling. Although the facilities are a bit older, they are very well maintained. The staff, in particular, were incredibly warm and attentive. The hotel provides electric shuttle buggies that guests can use at any time to go anywhere on the property. This time, I even got a room upgrade! It happened to be New Year's Eve, and the hotel also organized a celebratory 'Li' ethnic group ceremony, which really added to the festive New Year atmosphere.
This was my first trip and I had a fantastic time! The cost was reasonable, and we avoided all the back-and-forth traffic that usually comes with popular tourist routes. Let me start with check-in. I'm from Haikou and after seeing good reviews and reasonable prices, I drove 2.5 hours specifically to check this place out, and it definitely didn't disappoint. First, parking was easy with plenty of spots right in front of the lobby. When I arrived, the front desk was quite busy, so I didn't expect overly enthusiastic service. With so many guests, I understood, and I was just grateful that the staff processed my check-in quickly. Second, the service was outstanding. I had booked a package deal, and due to an oversight during booking, I booked a king-sized bed for our family of four. When I brought this to the front desk's attention, the staff immediately changed us to a twin room. The room was very spacious, with a small balcony and access to the swimming pool. Xiao Lin, who was on duty that day, patiently taught me about the activities available at the resort. The swimming pool attendant was also very friendly, and the archery range attendant, being from mainland China, was very outgoing. The kids loved the complimentary archery session, then went on to play bumper cars and laser tag. They had an absolute blast, and the prices were reasonable. I ended up buying two more '3 activities for 98 yuan' packages.
Third, the food. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich, probably around 60 different items. The restaurant's operating hours were also very considerate; breakfast ran until 10:30 AM and lunch until 2:30 PM. It's truly designed for a relaxed vacation. I do have a small suggestion: the Chinese restaurant's service and decor were excellent, but the Hainan sour bamboo shoot with sliced pork dish they offered that day, while delicious in Hainan, really impacted the restaurant's aroma. The entire restaurant smelled of it. I suggest perhaps offering more universally appealing dishes that don't have such a strong scent. On a positive note, the steamed yellow croaker at the restaurant was exceptionally good; my daughter said it was the best steamed fish she'd ever had. Oh, and there are also many great food options around the hotel. We ate at the hotel on our first day, and both the price and taste were good. But we also wanted to experience local cuisine, so we went into town. We were lucky to find a restaurant called 'Hunan Renjia' – the proprietress's warm welcome immediately convinced us. Our family had four dishes, all very generous portions. I highly recommend the fan bone, stir-fried crab, Japanese tofu, and steamed egg. The total bill was 245 yuan. Our kids were so satisfied; they truly cleaned their plates.
There are also many activities available. The three water activities are all grouped together: swimming, a water park, and a lazy river. (When buying tickets, make sure to check if the water park is included, as it costs 60 yuan per person if not.) There's also a naughty castle, a gym, and a beachcombing activity (starts at 9:00 AM; I recommend kids wear sandals for this, or even go barefoot to feel the seawater. Don't use the small water shoes provided by the hotel as they fill with water and are hard to walk in, preventing kids from fully experiencing the sea.) The guest rooms are also really nice. We received complimentary fresh fruit, and there's a big bathtub which we loved. The kids bathed in it on the first day, but honestly, we barely spent any time in the room afterward; there were too many fun activities to enjoy! We checked out at noon that day and didn't return to Haikou until 7:00 PM. Next time, I'll definitely aim for a three-day, two-night package. Well, I hope this review provides some helpful tips for future travelers. Oh, and if you're a light sleeper, I also recommend this place. The soundproofing in their rooms is truly excellent; not a single noise. This is my first time writing such a detailed hotel review.

Pros:
1. **Convenient Takeaway**: There's a dedicated takeaway locker. You can easily order from Wallace, McDonald's, Luckin Coffee, and nearby supermarkets.
2. **Shuttle Service**: They offer a mini-bus service to and from the high-speed rail station (limited seating, requires advance booking).
3. **Festive Atmosphere**: The hotel really goes all out for holidays! The Christmas decorations and festive fireworks were beautiful – a huge bonus.
4. **Excellent Front Desk Service**: The front desk staff were very proactive in resolving issues, and calls were always answered. Hotel staff were also enthusiastic about helping with luggage.
5. **Great Location**: Very close to Stone Park and Tonggulun, and taxis are easily accessible.
6. **Friendly Cats**: There are adorable (wild) cats around, very friendly and not aggressive towards people.
Cons:
1. **Musty Smell in Room**: The room had a strong musty smell (barely tolerable).
2. **Cleanliness Issues**: The hygiene was just okay. There was mold on the walls and air vents, and the bottom of the bathtub was yellowed with uncleaned hair nearby.
3. **Poor Wi-Fi for Apple Users**: The Wi-Fi was not very friendly for iPhone users; it kept disconnecting or failing to connect, so I mostly relied on mobile data.
4. **Terrible Food**: Although the hotel food portions were large, it was incredibly bad. The Baoluo noodles had absolutely no flavor (not just bland).
5. **Noisy Cats at Night**: The kittens were a bit noisy at night (perhaps hungry or something else). I suggest arranging deworming and neutering for the cats, providing a cat house (please don't kill or drive them away) as part of the hotel's 'cute pets' initiative, maybe even creating a cat cafe.
For the price of over 400, this hotel is already quite good and offers great value for money.

The Hilton is definitely the best hotel on Ocean Flower Island, and its location is fantastic. There's a gourmet food street nearby, and a McDonald's just a few steps downstairs. It's super convenient for catching the light show at night, and visiting the museum complex and outlet mall during the day.
The hotel facilities are also great; having a Bluetooth speaker to listen to music is a nice touch.
The first room I stayed in was quite small. Even though the front desk had thoughtfully given me a room on a higher floor, the hallway in the room still felt cramped. Later, because the air conditioning broke, they moved me to a larger sea-view room, and suddenly, the room felt much more comfortable.
The biggest downside in the room was that the shower water wasn't hot enough. After showering, I was freezing! It was practically lukewarm water. The bath towels were also cold, not absorbent, and felt slippery – just so cold.
Another drawback was that the windows were very heavy; you needed staff to help open or close them, which was a bit inconvenient.
Overall, the service staff were generally very good, and my overall experience was still pretty positive.

RRoshchupkina DariaMy girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel from October 3rd to 8th, and we absolutely loved it. Firstly, the hotel was quite affordable, and secondly, the location was perfect—it was literally a three-minute walk to the sea. Next to the beach is the promenade, which is always very lively and lively in the evenings, with many different cafes and restaurants of varying price ranges. The beach itself is very clean, the only downside is the lack of sun loungers. There are also plenty of cafes near the hotel, serving both Russian and Chinese food. There are two shopping centers nearby, and it's not far to the city center. Overall, the location was perfect. 😌 As for the hotel itself, we rented a two-room apartment, which also had a living room and a huge balcony with a sea view. The apartment was beautiful and clean, very cozy, everything was civilized and modern. The only thing was that the renovations in the living room were a bit dated, but I don't think it was a big deal; otherwise, everything was fine. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. On the 8th, he allowed us to check out two hours late and paid for a taxi to the train station. 😊 Overall, if you're looking for a budget option near the sea, this is definitely the place for you.
MM501840****This stay exceeded my expectations! The hotel's location is fantastic, right next to the subway station, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. The front desk lady checked me in quickly and even recommended nearby restaurants. The room was incredibly clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and it was incredibly quiet at night, allowing for a deep sleep. The bathroom had plenty of hot water with just the right pressure, and the toiletries smelled fresh. The breakfast was varied, with both Chinese and Western options, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious. They even gave me a small gift upon check-out, which was so heartwarming! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area; the value for money is excellent, and I highly recommend it!
MM887805****Hygiene: Clean and tidy.
Facilities: Well-equipped.
Environment: Excellent.
Location: Right by the beach with many shops nearby.
Service: The staff are great, especially the lovely front desk attendant who was very helpful and answered all our questions.
Sunset Afternoon Tea: Delicious pastries and beautiful, tasty drinks.
ZZhijianliushideshiguangThe front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and the hotel environment was lovely! Watching movies on the projector at night was so relaxing, and waking up to large windows overlooking coconut groves and green lawns was fantastic. Even though we didn't book a sea-view room, we could still catch glimpses of the ocean, haha. The hotel is located in the Tianya Haijiao scenic town, so private cars can't drive directly in. You can take a sightseeing shuttle from the parking lot to the hotel for 5 yuan per person, which drops you and your luggage right at the entrance. It was a great way to experience the town's charm along the way. Overall, a wonderful experience!
2205867****Service: Very thoughtful, warm, and meticulous 👍👍👍
Cleanliness: The overall environment is good, clean, and tidy.
Facilities: Relatively new, with a novel design.
This hotel offers views of both sunrise and sunset. You can capture amazing photos with just a casual shot, giving off a blockbuster feel. The photographer did a great job, and I personally loved it so much that I asked them to take more.
GGuest UserThe room was clean and tidy, and the housekeeper personally came to pick us up. The service was very intimate and water and toiletries were prepared. The view from the residence is really beautiful. You can surf downstairs. There is also a shooting place for the TV drama Xiahua. There are also amusement facilities downstairs. Unfortunately, these two days are cloudy, but fortunately, this trip time is short. I will choose here next time.
SSijiyoukeStayed for one night and the room was very good, and stayed for another night. The room was clean and tidy, very warm, the sea view was first-rate, and you could see the sunrise 🌄 700 meters downstairs is the beach by the sea. This is a surfing resort. It is very convenient to eat and buy things downstairs. If you have the opportunity to come back and play, you will still live in Maduo Oye Hotel 🏨 Recommended
XXirui@666Hyatt Regency Shenzhou Peninsula boasts a unique location, offering the blissful experience of being surrounded by the sea on two sides. Outside the window, a lush coconut grove creates a vibrant tropical ambiance. The rooms are bright and spacious, with separate bathrooms featuring a bathtub for a relaxing soak. All hotel staff are enthusiastic, proactive, and provide attentive service, especially the team at [presumably a restaurant or service named] 'Hamburger' who are quick to respond. Getting to dinner, the beach, or the gym is a quick ride via golf cart. The breakfast at the fish restaurant is quite rich and they even made aromatic sachets. It was a fantastic stay; a perfect holiday destination to relax and unwind.
GGuest UserLocation: right on the promenade by the beach with restaurants and convenient stores nearby.
Service: the staff were very friendly and patient with the language barrier.
Amenities: I liked the balcony with a dining table. The room was very spacious with nice decor. I appreciated how they gave me washing up liquid and laundry detergent. Other places I stayed at in Hainan didn't and I had to buy my own. I liked the amount of storage space. However, I don't like disposable towels. It's very uncomfortable. Some of the cooking equipment they provided was very old and worn out. It should be updated. There also wasn't any hot water in the kitchen or bathroom sinks, making it difficult to wash my hands or dirty dishes properly
Cleanliness: severely lacking. The cleaning staff don't do a thorough job. The bathroom floor was wet when I checked in and the bathroom stank of urine. The shelves in the fridge were also really dirty. It also looked like the cleaner forgot to clean the toilet. And for some reason they filled the holes in the shower wall with toilet paper.
Overral: Because they don't provided hot water for dish and hand washing and don't clean their rooms properly before check-in, I cannot recommend others to stay here cause it's a health violation. Next time I go to Haikou I will find a cleaner place to stay with hot water throughout the property.
It's a shame because it's a really nice property in a great location. Great but wasted potential.
JJiajiadejia1209Right across from People's Park, with free parking downstairs and easy access to taxis. The hotel offers complimentary snacks and unlimited drinks, plus robot delivery service, giving it a very modern and high-tech feel. The bedding in the room is quite comfortable. However, the open-plan sink area can be a bit noisy, and while the toilet is separate, it's not fully enclosed. This could be awkward if you're sharing with someone you're not very close to; it's really only suitable for families.
