Very nice hotel inside the walls of the Ancient City. Owners didn't speak English but they managed to communicate with translator tools, they picked me and take me back to train station and provided me with good advise on places to visit. Room was warm and clean and decoration was really nice. Thanks so much

I specifically booked a small courtyard room with a private hot spring. Unexpectedly, this impromptu decision turned out to be the perfect and unexpectedly perfect part of my trip. The moment I arrived, I was captivated: the bluestone path led the way inside, first around a small koi pond, and then around the corner, I stumbled upon a staircase and a library. The moment I opened the door to the small courtyard, I couldn't help but exclaim, ”Wow!” A few lush bamboos lined the courtyard, and the room boasted a private hot spring, a large bed with thick gauze curtains, and a small coffee table on the tatami mat nearby. Just thinking about sitting here sipping tea after a soak in the hot springs filled me with a sense of comfort. Even more heartwarming was the front desk attendant—seeing me carrying my luggage, the young man immediately came over to take it. Without waiting for me to ask, he proactively said, ”The courtyard you reserved is at the very back. We'll take you there.” He explained everything along the way, from how to use the private bathhouse and whether to add extra bedding to which mutton soup restaurant in the ancient city is the most authentic and the best photo spots with the lights on at night. He explained everything in detail, making it easier than having a travel guide. This little world in Xinzhou Ancient City, with its elegant pavilions and flowing water, and its cozy atmosphere, as well as its genuine hospitality, brought a heartwarming end to this prayer trip. It turns out that sometimes, not following the plan can lead to unexpected beauty!

Awesome! 👍🏻 We arrived late by high-speed train, and the owner drove directly to the station to pick us up. All the restaurants in the ancient city were closed, so the owner lent us his electric tricycle to go eat outside the city. Riding that little vehicle through the ancient city at night was truly a special experience, haha. As for the room, it had everything we needed, and the underfloor heating kept it very warm. The large kang bed was quite unique, and even the mouthwash cups were disposable. Since it was the off-season, the owner even upgraded our room. Although the wallpaper was a bit peeling, it didn't affect our stay at all. Moreover, right outside the inn is the owner's own travel photography studio. I'm so glad I didn't book one of those trendy shops recommended online in advance. The photo shoot here was absolutely fantastic 💖. The makeup artist was very gentle and recommended suitable hairstyles and makeup based on my face shape. I loved the photos, and there was absolutely no pressure during the selection process – completely voluntary. A perfect ancient city experience, I'll definitely recommend it to my friends!

Absolutely amazing stay! This hotel was a dream — beautifully decorated, spotless clean, and in a perfect location right in the heart of Pingyao. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful, always available when needed. Truly the best hotel in Pingyao — I would come back anytime!

Traveling with kids often, I've stayed in many guesthouses, and this one definitely ranks high. My kids absolutely loved the family room, and it's pet-friendly too! The owner and staff are all incredibly warm and friendly. Visiting Pingyao during the Chinese New Year, they made us feel like family. The guesthouse's restaurant also serves delicious food, and they even offer room service. It's a shame our stay was so short this time; we couldn't stay longer. We'll definitely be back if we get the chance and will recommend it to all our friends!

The hotel's service was exceptional. Our train arrived past 5 AM, and even though check-in was officially at noon, they kindly let us check in early for free. A staff member even came to meet us at the intersection and helped us with our luggage. The room was smart and modern, and the cleanliness exceeded our expectations. They provided disposable face towels and bath towels (though regular towels were also available), eye masks, and earplugs – perfect for our needs. Breakfast was incredibly rich and diverse, offering local specialties like millet cakes, knife-cut noodles, lamb offal soup, and even white sweet potatoes and yellow pumpkins. We took their Land Rover to the train station, and it only took twenty minutes, which was very convenient. There are many attractions nearby, and great local restaurants like Garden Grand Hotel and Longjuxiang are just a 7-8 yuan taxi ride away, or a 300-500 meter walk. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

All amazing: the facilities, the hotel, the location, the breakfast... but if you have to put a downside on it, it would be the size of the room. My partner and I were carrying suitcases and there wasn't much room to leave them. In the room (at least the one we were in) only a large suitcase would enter well, but considering that it was a room for a couple and they usually carry 2 suitcases, it was really narrow. Point to keep in mind is that there is no elevator, so you'll have to carry your bags by hand to the room. The people who worked at the hotel were very friendly and helped us both to get them up and down. Hotel 100% recommended

The room was great. I looked at many places before choosing this one. The receptionist was very helpful and lovely. The room was also very nice, with great lighting that created a great atmosphere for taking photos. The air conditioning was very cool and there was no unpleasant smell. The room was also well-equipped. I will definitely stay here again next time!

we went to changzhi to see some temples and historical sights. The hotel is perfect, the location is great. It's clean, new, affordable, has a decent gym and washing machines and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was good good too and they have a coffee bar at the entrance.. Would recommend for anyone coming to changzhi.

The view is absolutely 100 points. Facing the Yellow River and nestled against the mountain, at night, spotlights showcase Yuncheng's beautiful scenery! Now, let's have a few complaints. First, the service. They were incredibly accommodating, which is commendable. There was an evening event on the lawn in front of my room, but no one on Ctrip or at the hotel informed us. Since the event wasn't until after 11 PM, I contacted the housekeeper and was eventually offered a room change. Although we had two options—one with a broken bathtub and one with broken glass—we chose the one with the broken glass for quieter rooms. The guy who greeted us was very patient, even though we had already checked into the first room and used the bathtub. He was also very friendly! For the next two days, every staff member was indifferent and stern. While every request was met, the service was truly ”unexpected” for a Ctrip-sponsored resort. Second, the food. On the first day, I ordered Yellow River carp and found a hair. The staff didn't even apologize, but simply refunded it. I ordered other dishes. If I hadn't been embarrassed by the room change, I would have walked out. I think the poor service is still a problem of training. The requirements for waiters are too low, which really damages Ctrip's brand!
