The room is large for a Japanese apartment. The surrounding area is quite desolate with no commercial facilities. However, the hotel can rent bicycles which is quite convenient.

This was a really great place to stay! Even with four of us, the spacious room felt very comfortable, and for the price, it offered excellent value for money. The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of utensils, so we were able to buy groceries from the supermarket and cook our own meals. For breakfast, there were options like Japanese, Western, and Dashi Chazuke. I chose the Japanese breakfast, and there were so many delicious side dishes that I almost ran out of rice! The staff were all very kind, making for a pleasant stay. Thank you!
This hotel is definitely an older building and it does show. It’s well maintained but know that going into making a booking here!
The staff are really incredible, I had an incident with my door and they immediately fixed the problem for me. Additionally I was hoping to get to the Snow Monkey park earlier than the shuttle service was set to depart and they were nice enough to take me!
There were some minor cleanliness things like cobwebs and the fridge had a slight mildew scent to it that made me weary to put anything open inside. Additionally there was no hair dryer, I probably could have asked because it’s such a staple amenity but I was in a rush and never did.
It’s about a 7 minute walk from the station and there’s a Lawson and Pharmacy en route if you need to grab anything. It’s about 4 minutes from a bus that can take you deeper into the area with more food and shops too. There isn’t much else in this area but it is about an hour from central Nagano.
If you’re a solo traveler looking to explore the area but not wanting to spend too much on one of the famous ryokan’s in the area, I definitely recommend!
Come to Hakuba Village Iwadake to see the autumn leaves. The air is fresh and there is a sense of open space. The place to stay is very warm and the landlord’s meticulous reception allows us to rest and regain our strength. Next time we will come to experience the good snow scene.
The place looks exactly like the photos, no exaggeration at all. The entire house is enveloped by nature. In the mornings, I meditated and read in the garden with birds singing in the woods – it truly felt like my body was completely at one with nature. The owner mentioned that this particular unit boasts the largest garden among all their room types and was designed to mimic the architecture of the Kogen Church. The upstairs features an open sleeping area with four futons, which could easily accommodate six people. Downstairs also offers a tatami sleeping area. One thing to note is that sound travels easily between floors, as they are all open-plan rooms.
The bathroom facilities are absolutely fantastic! With a built-in drying system and a hairdryer, the floor dries instantly after you shower. All the room amenities felt like they were from premium brands. My favorite item, surprisingly, was the trash can, haha! It's exactly the kind of setup Shanghai's waste classification system desperately needs. I'm already 'sold' on it and planning to get one myself, haha!
Guests can also cook their own meals here. The owner's breakfast was not only generous but also incredibly delicious. I'll definitely have to try the steak for dinner next time – I'm sure it's excellent. The owner was incredibly kind and patient, helping us arrange taxis and even providing pick-up and drop-off services. We're very grateful. Karuizawa's summer weather is wonderfully comfortable and refreshing. The hotel's location is also fantastic, within walking distance of the Wild Bird Forest. Just a quick note: breakfast and dinner need to be reserved in advance!
This time, I used it to see the Shirakaba Lake Fireworks Festival in August. I decided to make a reservation in July, but the price was a little high. The service is bad to say clearly. It is attached to the restaurant, but there is no basic person at the front desk and it is necessary to go to the restaurant. When you go to the restaurant, you cannot use the employee-only passage connected to the hotel, and you need to go out once and then enter the restaurant. There was black mold in the bathroom in the room. The light switch in the room is a little difficult to understand. However, the location is not bad. This time it was a corner room on the lake side, but I could see the fireworks well.
The restaurant meal was delicious. The meal with breakfast plan was quite volume.

LLONGFUIt’s the photos taken by mobile phones inside and outside the store. The small hotel run by the old couple is not far from the Yudanaka tram terminal. In the town of hot springs, it’s good to have a 24-hour hot spring bathhouse. The owner is very good. Gentle was able to personally drive us to the foot of the mountain in the Wild Monkey Park to see the monkeys washing in the hot springs. It is a lot more convenient for us. Shared toilets are the place I am least used to, but overall I am satisfied.
JJUNGHJIt was a pleasant trip thanks to the kindness of the hotel owner. I was able to enjoy the hot springs and the food was good. I would like to visit again next time.
