Location: Excellent location. About 800m from Kyoto Station. You can walk through an indoor connected mall and station, making it safe and convenient even with luggage. Cleanliness: The bed is comfortable and the toilet is very clean. Service: Staff are a mix of Japanese and international, able to speak both English and Japanese. Facilities: Lifts are fast and responsive. Water dispenser available, please bring your own bottle. Convenience: Very well equipped. AEON Mall is 100m away and Lawson is 200m away. Overall: The hotel uses central air conditioning, which may not be ideal if you prefer a colder room. However, the hotel provided a Dyson portable fan, which made the room comfortable and allowed for good sleep. Well done Miyako Hotel. I will definitely return.

This hotel offers an excellent overall experience. The rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and good soundproofing, ensuring a quiet night's rest. The front desk staff are warm and efficient, making check-in and check-out smooth. The location is convenient, with many dining and transportation options nearby. The breakfast selection is extensive and consistently good. It's great value for money, suitable for both business trips and leisure stays. I would definitely choose it again.

This is a large onsen hotel, not far from JR Kyoto Station, with plenty of dining options nearby, making it very convenient. Upon entering, you need to take off your shoes and store them. The lobby has a free self-service coffee machine where you can get hot tea/coffee. The front desk offers multilingual service, so you can communicate any additional needs. The onsen (hot spring bath) area is communal, and it's a good experience to try it out. Hotel breakfast requires an additional payment, and it gets very crowded after 8 AM. They also offer free ramen after 9 PM!

A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Comfort in Kyoto During my recent stay at Saka Hotel Kyoto, I was immediately struck by its peaceful surroundings and inviting atmosphere. Located in the charming Higashiyama neighborhood, it offers an ideal launching point for discovering Kyoto’s historic sites. Despite being so close to famous temples and shrines, the hotel maintains a tranquil setting that feels worlds away from the bustle of the city. From check-in onward, I was warmly welcomed by the professional and attentive team. Their devotion to creating a memorable guest experience was evident in every conversation. Whether offering sightseeing suggestions or promptly assisting with any need, they made me feel completely at home. My room showcased an attractive fusion of modern design and traditional Japanese elements. Soft earth tones, tasteful décor, and well-chosen furnishings created an atmosphere that was both chic and peaceful. The spacious bathtub, in particular, stood out as the perfect place to unwind after wandering Kyoto’s centuries-old streets. Although I didn’t have a chance to sample the hotel’s dining options, every other aspect of my stay was faultless. The exquisite decor, the serene environment, and the staff’s unparalleled service exceeded all my expectations. If you’re seeking a sophisticated, relaxing retreat that still allows you to easily explore Kyoto’s rich cultural heritage, Saka Hotel Kyoto is an excellent choice.

Beautiful Hotel, Unprofessional Conduct Rating: ⭐⭐ (2/5 stars) Pros: Modern hotel with beautiful interiors and a great location. Cons: * The Room: Japanese-style rooms have no blackout curtains. The hotel’s only solution for the light was to masking-tape a towel to the wall (Photo 1). • The Incident: When I calmly asked for a better solution. I was accused of ”Customer Harassment.” • The Conduct: A staff member physically removed his ID badge to hide his name and showed me a ”Customer Harassment” search on his phone to intimidate me (Photo 2). Fact: I was calm the whole time, never raised my voice, and I praised their Hotel as its very beautiful. Using harassment threats to silence a guest reporting a legitimate facility issue is unprofessional and defamatory.

To start with the positives, the hotel was well located and easily accessible using the metro from Kyoto station. The room was a decent enough size and the staff were friendly and helpful. One major issue we encountered during our stay was the level of humidity in the room. The extractor fan didn't seem to be doing anything to impact moisture in the room, particularly after a warm shower. There was some treated glass above the sink and often this was the only area without moisture well over half an hour after having a shower. (Photos attached) This also meant that towels weren't drying correctly and created an unpleasant environment and ultimately odour in the room. The humidity was so high that the windows were dripping with water consistently and the window sill was actually wet. Additionally the absence of a full wardrobe (just a rail with hangers on) also created challenges when staying for longer than a couple of days and this combined with the humidity made the washing machine almost obsolete.

Absolutely loved this hotel! The interiors are stunning and rooms are spacious and well decorated with ample amenities. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The breakfast spread was the best I’ve had in Japan … includes very good ala carte options as well. Would definitely recommend to all visiting Kyoto.

I brought my parents to Kyoto and we stayed at this hotel. The triple room was incredibly spacious, much larger than the double rooms I've stayed in before. It was clean and tidy, with excellent hygiene. The private onsen comes highly recommended! My parents also had a fantastic stay. All in all, it's a perfect score! Service: Check-in was at 3 PM, and the front desk service was thoughtful and thorough. They explained the hotel facilities very clearly. (If you don't speak Japanese, there are staff who speak English.) Facilities: It's a very traditional Japanese-style room, which my parents loved. The public bathing area was also very clean, and the private onsen was super comfortable. The hotel signage was clear, and every detail was meticulously thought out – really impressive! Breakfast: The buffet breakfast offered a wide and diverse selection, with both Western and Japanese options, and plenty of delicious desserts! We were absolutely stuffed~

Fantastic hotel! It's a converted school building, very clean and tidy. The location is superb, with plenty of food, shopping, and attractions nearby. If the price is right (under 1000, that is), I highly recommend it. I really enjoyed my stay.

Love the location.. The hotel was amazing, comfortable bed with complete amenities. They even have a microwave and drink machine for water and also vending machine. The hotel provide a smart pack to compress ur clothes for packing. 300 yen for 3 minutes which i think its very convinient. Last but not least, it is just next to avanti and bus terminal from kansai airport. Highly Recommended 😀
