I originally wanted to book a hotel on Xiamen Island, but to my surprise, Qianwen recommended this five-star hotel, and its value for money really caught my eye. Upon arrival, I was upgraded to a sea-view room, which was incredibly spacious and spotless. The ocean view from the window was stunning. Directly across from the hotel is a park, and an evening stroll there was lovely with all the beautiful lights. The hotel service was also excellent, and they even offered a complimentary afternoon tea. Breakfast was extensive, and the freshly prepared congee was particularly outstanding. The only minor drawback is that Metro Line 2 is 1.2 kilometers from the hotel, which is a bit far. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, definitely a 5-star experience!

Let me write a serious review about this accommodation experience. I landed at 1 AM, and there was still a staff member there for the late-night airport pickup. Communication was very smooth. Thumbs up. It was already late when I checked in. A second staff member helped me with the check-in process and then assisted with carrying my luggage. This saved a lot of time and effort. Thumbs up. The next day, I wanted to extend my stay, but it seemed all the rooms were booked. I bothered the second staff member again to help coordinate, and eventually, I didn't have to switch rooms and could continue staying in my original room. Thumbs up. It happened to be graduation season for university students, so there were many young people staying who were up late at night. As a middle-aged person who has trouble sleeping, I once again bothered the front desk staff. Their response was very quick, and after a while, the surroundings became much quieter. I felt really bad about bothering the staff; as the saying goes, 'customers' requests keep the staff on their toes,' but their attitude was genuinely excellent. The apartment was also clean, and the disposable amenities made me feel more at ease. Thumbs up. Finally, the staff member asked if I needed an airport drop-off. From start to finish, the service was complete and thorough. Thumbs up. The beach opposite the apartment was less crowded, had a great atmosphere, and was perfect for photos.

I specifically booked this type of room when traveling with my parents. Everything was pretty satisfactory, except for the slightly poor soundproofing. It had a fridge and a washing machine. The microwave was apparently disabled by the building management. Both rooms offered great sea and city views. Any issues we had during our stay were resolved very promptly, and they asked us daily if we needed housekeeping, which was excellent service. Oh, by the way, there was no drying rack in the room, so I put one together myself using some tools, and it worked great, haha. We visited Nanputuo Temple and Gulangyu Island over two days. We didn't use the complimentary travel photoshoot from the hotel, but we'll definitely come back next time we have a chance.

Friendly receptionists, kind, and helpful. Great location, close to bus station, ferry terminals and Zhongshan Road. The sea view rooms have splendid views. Don't miss it! This is my 'N'th stay at this hotel, and every time it feels just like coming home – so comfortable! They're always ready to help during your stay. The lobby is beautiful and chic, the rooms are clean, and the facilities are complete. The bedding is soft, and the toiletries are all premium brands; every detail is well thought out. When we checked in and mentioned we were a couple, we not only received a late check-out benefit, but the cleaning staff also thoughtfully avoided us when they saw the ”Do Not Disturb” sign, ensuring our private time was completely undisturbed. This stay not only made us comfortable but also significantly deepened our connection. There were no deliberate gimmicks, just genuine, sweet details. I was incredibly impressed by the Lujiang Hotel during my short stay in Xiamen. As one of Xiamen's iconic buildings, it's perfectly situated between the Eighth Market and Zhongshan Road, directly opposite the ferry terminal to Gulangyu Island. You can often tell a good hotel by its bathroom facilities, and the Lujiang Hotel's vintage tiles and antique brass shower fixtures truly encapsulate retro romance. Speaking of classic hotels, I have to mention something important: the shower doors in older hotels typically open outwards. This is crucial because if someone faints while showering, they'll simply push the door open, immediately getting fresh air. Conversely, if the door opens inwards and someone collapses, their body can block the door, making rescue efforts much harder. Many new hotels and B&Bs, in an effort to save space, have inward-opening shower doors, which is quite unprofessional 🙅‍♀️👎. The Lujiang Hotel, in this regard, maintains the integrity of a traditional, well-designed hotel.

While the facilities are a bit dated, which is to be expected for an older hotel, the location is incredibly convenient. It's easy to get to the ferry terminal and other attractions. Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street is within walking distance, and there are bus stops and a subway station right outside. The room view is great; you can see Gulangyu Island across the way. The front desk service was also excellent; they upgraded our room since there was one available. The cleaning staff, Auntie Cao (I think her name was Cao Xueyun, but I can't quite remember), was also very thoughtful. She saw we had no place to hang our clothes and brought us a drying rack. Thumbs up! Oh, and there's a food truck right outside the hotel, a sort of outdoor food stall, where you can easily grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Very convenient, though breakfast is only available on weekdays.
