Previous stay was many years ago. This time booked a Grand King room last minute 2 days before Xmas. Room was surprisingly clean, neat and well kept. Bedsheet was clean. Cleanliness has improved. Housekeeping team has done a good job. Nice short two nights stay. Was given room at Tower 2. Check in was fast and fuss free. Free parking for hotel guests. Very convenient location. Super easy to and fro from KSL city mall.

I expected the hotel price to match its distance from popular malls when I booked it. It is fairly close to the Mount Austin area. However, what I didn’t realise was that it’s located right beside a very busy main road that’s often jammed, so travelling even short distances can take quite a long time. There’s absolutely nothing much around the hotel itself, so you’ll need to drive or take Grab to get anywhere. Free parking is provided, which is a plus. Do note that the road can get noisy. I was staying in a room facing the road, and while trying to sleep, I could occasionally hear loud vehicles passing by. The room itself was clean and adequate, but one of my friends staying in another room mentioned that there was an unpleasant smell on the pillow in their room.

Check -in and check out service was good and fast. Old hotel but well maintained. Room was clean with bathtub 🛁. Nice city view from room window. Breakfast was good and Christmas decorations was nice. Gym facility was good too!

I recently stayed at New York Hotel in Johor Bahru and had a truly pleasant experience. The hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms, which made my stay relaxing after a long day. The location is another great advantage—close to shopping areas, eateries, and just a short drive to the CIQ checkpoint, making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers. Breakfast had a good variety of options, and overall, the hotel provides great value for money. I would definitely recommend New York Hotel to anyone visiting Johor Bahru who is looking for comfort, convenience, and a pleasant stay.

Highly recommended, especially if your priorities are convenience and a clean, comfortable environment. Its prime location directly opposite key shopping malls and near the CIQ makes it an ideal base for shopping trips or short cross-border stays. Nice Gym👍 Breakfast - very fulfilling 😋 Only 2 things to feedback. 1. Water heater temperature not hot enough😅 2. Can smell cigarette, probably the previous guests smoked in the toilet😡😤

It was a great experience for family. My kid really enjoyed the environment it’s so close to aeon Bukit Indah

Room is clean and spacious. Swimming pool is clean and big. There's a playground and fitness area for seniors too. However, amenities is a little lacking (no tissue box, sanitary plastic, cotton bud). Also alittle confusing for first time check in, but pdf instructions given is detailed. Another unhappy occurrence was during check out. Informed staff will check out late at 12pm, acknowledged. But staff kept reminding to check out on time repeatedly, even at 1157am. Feels like they can't wait for us to leave. Overall, will still consider to stay again.

We weren't planning on staying overnight in JB but life happens and we needed a room for 2 nights. Trip.com came through for us and when we got to this hotel, the staff at Doubletree, especially ROZLIN and MOHAR from their Careline department, were SUPER helpful and kind. Their level of care for their guests was truly impressive and it was evident to us that this is part of their culture and we extended our stay for a 3rd night as a result. Doubletree by Hilton Johor Bahru is now our top choice for JB!

Room Condition: The hotel is quite old and a bit rundown, so it’s understandable that the furniture is also aged. The table lamp/study light looked worn out and could use some maintenance. Service: Check-in at the front desk was smooth, but we faced an issue with the TV in our room. We couldn’t watch any channels at all. At first, we thought it might be due to the weather, but the TV in my parents’ room worked fine. We scanned the QR code to request assistance and received only “Noted” as a response. We sent two messages and got the same reply both times. Since there was no follow-up, we went to the front desk to report it in person, but unfortunately, no action was taken until we checked out. That was quite disappointing. Car Park: Try to avoid parking directly under the trees, as there are quite a lot of weaver ants around the area. Breakfast Buffet: The breakfast buffet was okay. The kurma chicken tasted more like ayam ungkep, which was a bit misleading, but I actually loved it since I really like ayam ungkep.
