Great
GGuest UserParking is competitive - we have to park at the carpark opposite JR Kochi for our first night but managed to snag a spot the second night. Staff is helpful and friendly.
Location is good especially if you are travelling by JR but is quite a walking distance to the attractions eg, Hirome Market, Kochi Castle etc. There are convenience stores nearby where we bought snacks and enjoy the free coffee at the hotel lounge. We are glad breakfast is provided too as it can be a little difficult to find eateries nearby, and it is delicious.
Room is clean and size is acceptable by Japan standard.
TTraveller CThe hotel is dated but has lots of charm! Yes, the fittings and furniture is old and outdated but everything is working as it should.
The room (twin room) was generous in space by Japan standards. Here are some plus points about the hotel:
1) The windows can be opened fully to allow generous amounts of wind in (not the usual small openings).
2) The hotel staff are so generous and kind, they allowed us to check-in early and check-out late without charge! This is also the reason why we will definitely stay here again if we are in Kochi.
3) Hotel is located in the heart of all the bars (there were hoards of salarymen hanging around the area in the night and it gets very lively)
4) It’s a cosy hotel with no frills (so bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you are fussy about it).
To manage your expectations, note the following:
1) It’s an old establishment, so don’t expect everything to be sparkling new or matching. No usb outlet charging as well.
2) Due to the location, you might hear lots of street noise if you open the windows at night.
All in all, a wonderful little charming hotel, run by people who have the interests of their guests. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserI stayed here while sightseeing along the Shimanto River.
The amenities here included lotion, milky lotion, and even makeup remover, which was extremely convenient for female guests. (*^ω^)
They also had game consoles available for rent, so I played the Famicom, my childhood obsession, for the first time in decades!
(There were several other game consoles to choose from besides the Famicom.)
There was a souvenir shop and restaurant right next door, so I had no trouble finding a place to eat or buy souvenirs. ☆
The shower and toilet were separate, and the sofas were spacious.
I had a comfortable stay.
I was also given some snacks along with my welcome drink.
It felt like a great deal.
GGuest Userthe hotel room is nice , best shower even in Japan. but the sink is too low, good size for the child , too low for an adult the hotel has swimming pool, the pool is belong to the gym , normally require the membership ,but you just need to show the counter that you are staying in the hotel they will let you in. if you dont have the swimming suit, they have the swimming suit to borrow which was nice . they don't really speak English, that was a little tough to communicate. they have laundry machine at 3rd floor to use. the breakfast was acceptable , if you are foreigner, like western food , they have croissant, chocolate bread, salad, bacon. it was a good stay.
CChong Ee JayWithin 5 minutes walk from Kochi Train Station to the hotel. Not much eateries in the immediate 5 minutes radius but if you take a 10 minutes walk down or 5 minutes tram ride, you can find an entire street of local shopping and eateries. Do visit the Hirome Market and Kochi Castle which is nearby too!
Hotel receptionist do not speak much English but they are super hospitable and easy to communicate via English with them using an amazing translation device they have! Had to do luggage delivery service and they were super helpful!
Would definitely stay in this hotel the next time we visit Kochi!
GGuest UserLow ceilings, pillows about as thick as an iPad, and a mattress that feels more like a traditional futon than a hotel bed. Staff are polite and efficient, the small onsen is lovely after a day out, and the location couldn’t be better.
Skipped breakfast after seeing the 20-minute wait — I’d skip the meal plan next time. Comfortable enough for a short stay, just don’t expect cloud-like bedding.
GGuest UserThe air was clear and wide, and the dog was able to relax together!
It was very nice in a large room.
The price was good, the rice was good, the Viking was playing, and it was fun.
GGuest UserLocated right next to Harimaya Bridge, it's easy to find and get around Kochi. The room was standard. Amenities were minimal, so you just grab what you need from the lobby. It was very clean and nice. Breakfast was included, but the venue is compact, so you might have to wait if it's crowded. I was happy to be able to eat seared bonito in the morning. I was very satisfied.
GGuest UserClean hotel with great staff and service. The best thing is definitely the location which steps out into the main arcade. Family mart down below and affiliated parking available for reasonable price (although car park is 4min walk from hotel).
The only thing was that their coin laundry within the hotel absolutely does not work. Ran drying 3 times and clothes still came out wet. Just go to another external laundry service if needed.
ジジェロニモGood location because it is near Kochi Station. There is Lawson across the pedestrian crossing, so it was convenient because you can go shopping at night.
The receptionist and the correspondence were able to spend well and comfortably.
Near the reception, there was also a makeup emulsion cleaning amenities (types to take each).
The room and bed were also large for two people, but they were able to use it with wide 々.
