We truly enjoyed our stay but not the lift. The family room is spacious, complete with bath tub and microwave, also complimentary drinks. Three bedrooms that can fit my family of seven and have space for the kids and baby ran around. Netflix and YouTube Channel, perfect for our little Stay at hotel vibes. But I think the in- room service is really important. We don't plan on going out to have dinner so we thought we could just order from the in room dining but apparently the hotel doesn't offer it. But we just ordered from Grab and it is not disappointing. Basic amenities like toothbrush, shower cream were also prepared. The pool and kids pool is huge but there are too many people staying at the hotel as well as The Shore (cause they share amenities) and the towel is not enough. We have to wait but the frustrating part is my room accommodated 5 adults but only 2 pool towels were allowed to be taken. Maybe the hotel could revise this rule. The picture shows only the third room (where I was sleeping). It is spacious and great for a single person and not to mention the table for working space. Ah, the down side like I mentioned, the lifts. It took forever for us to get to our room and to check out. But then again it's the holiday season, so the hotel was full, so I'll be understanding this time

This is a charming boutique hotel, exuding a strong Malaccan Nanyang (Southeast Asian) style. The room decor is a delightful blend of European and Nanyang influences, with high-quality materials used throughout. The lobby and public areas feature beautiful and impressive marble, and even the bathroom fixtures in the rooms are top-notch. There's an elevator, which is a great plus, as many smaller hotels often prioritize aesthetics over convenience. The room isn't huge, but it has a balcony – though I didn't use it due to the heat. The air conditioning was excellent, and the shower water pressure was great. The towels weren't brand new, but I always bring my own anyway. The toiletries are L'Occitane, which is a nice touch. Breakfast is semi-buffet style; it has everything you need, and while not super extensive, it's quite good. Each room gets two complimentary coffees to take away daily. There was a male staff member, I think named NASIK, who was incredibly friendly and happy to chat with guests. He was very helpful with luggage and looked quite Chinese, leaving a great impression. Overall, this hotel is excellent. While not directly on the river, the location is still very convenient for exploring and experiencing the local culture. My only gripe is with Trip.com – I don't understand why the price was so high when I booked. I didn't keep an eye on it, and when I checked in, I realized booking on the same day would have been much cheaper. That's likely a platform issue, not the hotel's.

This hotel sits in a mall. It is situated very conveniently, walking distance to Jonker St and other food places. The Melaka river flows along it and get for taking walks.
The amenities provided are bath towels and floor towel. No face or hand towels; provides toothbrush and toothpaste. No shower caps. There is no daily room cleanup though they will upon request. Actually, you need to request for any top u or add ons eg water, soap. No cable TV. Breakfast i think is good calue for money.
You can take the lift to top of the hotel and have a bird's eye view of Malacca. (43fl)
Service is acceptable. My TV could not get some channels. The service man came quite quickly but could not quite solve the problem.
But i enjoyed my stay as though the room was quite spartan, it had sufficient for a simple stay.

Beautifully designed hotel with nice rooms. Hot water and aircon do not work well. Water is too hot and takes time to cool. Aircon takes time to cool the room. Plug points are not strategically placed for charging of devices. Gym is hot and stuffy with certain machines not connected to power.

My stay at this hotel was fairly decent for a short trip. The location was convenient, and I appreciated the free outdoor parking provided for guests. However, the cleanliness could definitely be improved. The bedsheet did not seem properly changed, and there was a brownish stain in the middle of the bed, which affected the overall comfort of the stay.
There was also an incident during the night when the safety box suddenly started beeping unexpectedly. Thankfully, after calling the front desk, the staff responded very quickly and came to solve the problem professionally, which I appreciated.

The hotel was clean and tidy, but they didn't refill the soap. I had to call twice for an iron and board to be delivered. Everything seemed to require two calls to arrive at the door. The hotel food and pool were good, and the location was also fine. The only slight hassle was having to get a stamp for the parking ticket every time we wanted to leave. We made an effort to buy swimming attire for the pool as requested, only to find many people swimming in regular clothes! I'm really unhappy about this! Please, management, ensure everyone follows the rules!

I recently stayed at The Baba House Melaka and had an enjoyable experience overall. The property is clean, well-maintained, and beautifully preserved despite being a heritage building. It offers a unique Peranakan atmosphere while still providing a comfortable stay.
The staff provided excellent service throughout our visit. Requests that were communicated in advance were accommodated, and they took the initiative to arrange the multiple rooms we booked close to one another, which was greatly appreciated and made our stay more convenient.
There are a couple of areas where improvements could be made. The hotel does not offer self-service laundry facilities, which may be inconvenient for guests on longer stays. In addition, the rooms are not particularly soundproof, and noises from outside the room can sometimes be heard.
Overall, the charm of the heritage property, cleanliness, good maintenance, and attentive staff outweighed these minor drawbacks. I would recommend it to travellers looking for a heritage stay in Melaka with friendly and accommodating service.

The location is fantastic, everything is within walking distance! The air conditioning was super cold, and the projector worked flawlessly. The service was excellent, and I even got a welcome drink before checking in.
I did have two issues, though. Firstly, the soundproofing is really poor. I'd get woken up by footsteps before my alarm even went off (I think the stairs might be wooden, but whatever the material, the walking noise was really loud). The hotel thoughtfully provided earplugs, which I appreciate, even if I'm not used to using them.
Secondly, the parking is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. If they offered a shuttle service for guests, this hotel would easily be a 4.5-star place, especially because the weather in Malacca is really hot and luggage can be heavy.

GGuest UserThe hotel tried its best, but it has definitely seen better days. We entered a room that was clean, and the beds were made perfectly. I had requested adjoining rooms on a high floor, and both requests were accommodated, which I appreciated.
The fridge and phone in our room were not working, but it wasn’t a big deal—we simply used the adjoining room’s. However, I would have been quite annoyed if we hadn’t had the adjoining room to fall back on.
At around S$60 per room during the school holiday weekend, it’s difficult to find another hotel in such a central location that also includes breakfast, so the value for money is hard to ignore.
I would also like to commend the staff. The front desk team was welcoming, and the housekeeping team responded promptly to our requests throughout our two-day stay. The buffet breakfast was consistently topped up whenever items ran low, although the selection of pastries was limited. Overall, the staff were amazing—warm and friendly whenever we crossed paths, whether at the front desk, during housekeeping interactions, or at breakfast service.
That said, there are areas that could use significant improvement. The bathrooms are overdue for renovation, with rusty corners and stubborn stains in several places. The towels have also seen better days—they were thin and had visible holes.
I don't fault the staff for these issues, as they seem to be doing their best with a property that is quite run-down. I believe the hotel management needs to do a better job of updating and maintaining the facilities. Overall, this is a budget-friendly option with excellent service, though the hotel's physical condition could benefit from some much-needed upgrades.
CChikibumbum92This was our fifth stay at this hotel, and unfortunately, this time was very disappointing.
1. Check-in
The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I had requested a Queen Bed room instead of Twin Beds. However, I was informed that because my booking was made at the last minute (one day before check-in), only a Twin Bed room was available as all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied. We accepted the explanation and proceeded with the room provided.
2. Room Condition
Upon entering the room, the first issue we noticed was the air conditioning. Despite setting the fan speed to high, the room remained warm and the air conditioner was not cooling properly.
3. Bathroom
There appeared to be a blockage beneath the sink, as water was pooling around the sink and toilet area. In addition, the shower holder was broken while we were using the shower. We chose not to complain and continued our stay.
4. Room Door & Bathroom Door
The bathroom door could not be closed properly unless it was pulled and pushed firmly. The more serious issue occurred the next morning after breakfast when our room door became stuck and could not be opened.
We contacted maintenance, and the team arrived to inspect the problem. From approximately 8:00 AM onwards, we were unable to access our room. Around 8:30 AM, the maintenance team requested approval from the Front Office to move us to another room because the repair would require additional time. However, they informed that changing rooms would incur an additional charge because we were checking out on the same day.
I strongly disagree with this decision. From 8:30 AM until our checkout time at 12:00/12:30 PM, we were still paying guests of the hotel. The room issue was caused by a defect on the hotel’s side, and guests should not be charged extra to move rooms due to problems beyond their control.
The Most Disappointing Part
During check-in, we were informed that no Queen Bed Deluxe Rooms were available. However, while the maintenance team was accessing our room through the connecting room next door, we discovered that the adjacent room was vacant and equipped with a Queen Bed.
If the actual reason was that the room was unavailable due to maintenance, it would have been more professional and honest to explain that from the beginning rather than simply saying all Queen Bed rooms were fully occupied.
This experience has left us very disappointed. Every time we visit Melaka, this hotel has always been our preferred choice. However, after this stay, we have decided not to return.
I appreciate the hospitality shown by the staff during check-in, but I sincerely hope the hotel will improve both its facilities and service standards. Thank you.
AAnonymous UserWorth the price. The staff are nice and friendly, and they kindly accommodated our request for a late checkout without any extra charges, which we really appreciated. They r also generous with pillows.
For room service, i ordered nasi goreng kampung Morten. it was delicious, except for the sambal belacan which could be improved.
Cons: Room slippers are only provided for suite rooms. It would be great if they could provide slippers for all room types, as it’s uncomfortable to walk barefoot on the room carpet
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is conveniently located near the toll, making it easy to access. It is an older property, and the furniture reflects that, but it is still functional. Cleanliness is maintained at a moderate level. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, which adds to the overall experience. The highlight of the stay is the FunPlay water park—kids absolutely loved it and had a fantastic time. The breakfast spread is impressive, with a wide variety of options to choose from.Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we would likely visit again.

CCrystal_04The bathtub was definitely the highlight. I booked it when the price was quite good, so I felt the value for money was excellent. The only minor issues were that the email box was a bit hard to find, and the TV in the room was old, not high-definition, and the volume kept fluctuating.
TTYANBYThis hotel, open for just over a year, is clean, spacious, and has a great location. There's plenty of parking available, and it's only about a 10-minute walk to Jonker Street in Malacca. It offers excellent value for money and is definitely worth a stay.
AAdepppthe staff were helpful, and friendly. unfortunately, the hotel facilities not well-maintained. Once we checked in the room, we realised that there was no water supply for our rooms (we booked 2 rooms) at that level. the staff then explained there there were some repair/maintenance going on at the hotel hence the supply was off.. after a few attempts, muddy water came out. they promptly arrange for new rooms for us. as we booked the king size rooms (higher tier, though no highest), we were upgraded to their ”better” and more exp room at highest level.. we were delighted... initially.... when we opened the doors.. both rooms reeks of mouldy smell... we gotta open the window to air the room... the flooring also popping and peeling. The shower area also fell short of expectation. in general, super not well-maintained... and I won't ever stay here again until they refurbish /renovated the whole hotel.
good things.. got nice view...very prime location.. next door is the mall.. the bed and bedsheets were very comfy. that's about it.
