The hotel environment is quite good. Each room comes with a dedicated parking space, which is great for families. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy. The kitchen equipment is limited and quite basic. I highly recommend the breakfast place right outside the hotel, Pembroke Pâtisserie – it's absolutely delicious!
Clean and comfy bed, but expensive stay for what was effectively a shed… it often felt that there were not enough toilets, with long queues for the bathrooms on all floors in the morning and at night.
Room facilities: The triple room was a bit small, and the window on the first floor didn't get much natural light (it faced a wall). We found some dander and hair on the beds, though not a lot.
Service attitude: The staff at check-in were very friendly. The hotel is spread out like a 'resort' with many buildings. Staff marked our room location on a map and showed us how to get there (it wasn't far, just a short walk of a few dozen seconds). Both check-in and check-out were very convenient.
Hotel location: You have to walk up a small slope to get to the hotel, but it's not too tiring. The overall location is good (very close to the skyline) and it's very quiet. It's also not far from the town.
This was my second time staying here, and it was just as good as the first. The chalet was different from my previous stay, but the quality remained excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The experience was just as enjoyable, proving that this place is consistently reliable. Will definitely return again!
Polite staff and central location in Queenstown ( 5 minutes walk to city center). Amenities include free WiFi, laundry, a garden, hot tub, and bike access. Rooms were cozy but basic. The communal kitchen space was organized and easy to use. The sauna is the reason I will book again when in Queenstown. 🥰
It's alright, about a 10-minute drive from where you can see the penguins. The only downside is that the kitchen utensils are a bit sparse – not even a single knife, just one pair of scissors. I'd suggest the hotel at least provides a knife set. Also, there were only two hangers, which wasn't enough. The bed was quite comfortable. The water pressure was very low, so I didn't even bother showering that day.
The room was very clean, and the shared kitchen area was decent. However, the laundry room was really dirty! It felt like it hadn't been maintained in ages, and you needed to pay with Apple Pay. The toilets weren't super clean either, but for a campsite, it was actually pretty good. Definitely bring slippers! The lake nearby is even better than Lake Wanaka, and there were lots of campervans, so it had a lively atmosphere.
A very retro and stylish hotel. It is indeed very old, and the facilities are also very old. The traces of time can be seen everywhere, and the bathroom is also very small. But its biggest advantage is that it is in the city center, very close to the most popular and beautiful station, the Octagonal Square, and other places. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs, providing breakfast and dinner. In addition, the price is also very cost-effective. It depends on your opinion. It depends on each person's choice.

GGuest UserThis was my first time staying in a capsule hotel, and overall it was pretty good. You can turn on a fan inside the bed, so it doesn't feel stuffy. I was super lucky that day because even though it was a 4-person dorm, only two of us actually checked in, so it felt like a private two-person room. This LyLo in Queenstown is super close, right on the corner, and has a big penguin out front. Self-check-in was very easy; they send you an email well in advance, so the check-in process is a breeze. Check-out was even simpler – just click on the 'check-out' link in the email. Everyone in the room gets a locker, and it's quite spacious, so my suitcase fit in perfectly. The front desk service was also great. I accidentally locked my locker before setting a password, but I went down to the front desk, and they helped me resolve it quickly. They were very polite throughout. However, there was one minor issue with the facilities: there were a lot of people in the bathroom. Although the shower area was quite spacious, there was only one sink, so everyone had to take turns brushing their teeth and washing up.
QQatar AirwaysHakahouse Queenstown: I think this hotel has a really unique design, and I truly believe it's a great choice. I'm quite fond of it! I was even thinking of coming here for a date, you know? Like, I was definitely considering it for a date. Do you know what this place is all about?
GGuest UserStaying one night at Wanaka. We chose this accommodation because its located at the center of Wanaka. Very convenient, we could basically walk to the beach, the supermarket which just right next to the lodge, and to restaurants. Would recommend this place if you’re planning to do a stopover at Wanaka.
The reception however only open until certain time and they will be available again at 2 pm. Make sure you get everything sorted when you check in.
Parking lot is pretty small so its a bit hard to park the car.
MMandy PuaIt’s a vintage hotel, I’m surprised with the lift which is very old type of lift, the design very pretty and retro. Room is quite spacious for 4 adults. The heater is very powerful and strong. The hotel is located near to the town center and precinct street, just a few minutes of walk can reach.
SSafiyoooI had a truly wonderful stay at this retreat. The place itself is absolutely spectacular — very calming, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by breathtaking views. The deck is stunning, and it was the perfect spot to relax and unwind.
The owners were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and looked after throughout my stay. Their hospitality genuinely stood out. The dogs were lovely and added so much warmth to the experience. Breakfast was excellent, and the variety of teas available was out of this world.
As a female solo traveller, I felt completely safe, comfortable, and well cared for, which is something I value highly. The atmosphere is peaceful and nurturing — exactly what you want from a retreat.
The only minor downside is that it’s a bit far from the shops (around a one-hour walk). However, this was easily managed as Uber is only a 6-minute drive, and the hosts were also kind enough to offer lifts when possible.
Overall, an absolutely stunning place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay
TTommy_dejoReally nice looking room and a very good price performance ratio. And you even get a complimentary drink. Room was nice and warm upon arrival. I didnt really understand the self checkin for a second, cause i didnt know the rooms were directly at the parkinglot, where the whiteboards and the name are written. Really easy and useful for a fast checkin and checkout. I would stay there again.

HHuishuohuadexiannvbangThe room is quite far from Queenstown, nestled in the mountains, but parking is convenient, making it suitable for those traveling by car. The house itself is outdated, yet they still require a NZD 100 deposit. On top of that, they inspect the room before returning the deposit. Seriously, what valuable items do you have that someone would even want to take? It just left a really bad taste in my mouth. I definitely won't be staying there again.
