Had a wonderful stay here. The room was clean and comfortable, and they offered breakfast and complimentary refreshments. The service was excellent, and the rooftop provides great views of the sea and sunrise. This will definitely be my top choice next time I visit Hualien!

The sea is just opposite the B&B. It is clean, comfortable and has no musty smell. The bed is so comfortable that you won’t want to leave. The delicious breakfast is even better. I took breakfast with me to see the sea, and I relaxed while eating. It was the most enjoyable day of my life.

It's very close to the rear exit of Hualien Railway Station, where snacks and fruit are available, and toast is provided for breakfast.
The staff can assist with calling a taxi and offer friendly service.

I think an average of HKD 400 per night during New Year's is quite good value. I wasn't expecting too much service, but the only thing I really couldn't stand was that the AC temperature could only be adjusted by the front desk. I asked them to change it twice, but it still didn't feel cool enough… However, I want to emphasize that this wasn't the staff's fault; their service was still on point. If you're particular about room temperature, you'll need to see if you can put up with it (I managed to, eventually).

The location is super close to Qixingtan Beach, and the Bonito Museum is right outside. You can walk to Qixingtan Beach, and electric scooter rentals aren't far either. However, there are many accommodations nearby, so if you want a sea view from your room, you might need to inquire about availability (my loft room didn't have one). There's no fridge in the room, but there's a shared one on the same floor.
The breakfast was prepared with care, though taste is subjective. It's very pet-friendly. The loft room type is convenient for families traveling together, especially with teenagers, as there's plenty of space.

One of the better (if not the best) hotel chains I’ve stayed at in Taiwan. I’ve visited Taiwan about 10 times and stayed here for 2 nights, and overall I was very satisfied with the experience.
They provide free bicycles (3 hours limit), which is useful for getting around Hualien. Breakfast has a good spread, and there are complimentary ice cream and drinks available in the lobby around the clock. We didn’t realise they also offer late-night supper from 7pm to 9pm, which was honestly as good as a proper dinner buffet, with a good mix of Western and Chinese dishes and even live entertainment.
The room was spacious and well maintained, with no hygiene concerns. Shower water pressure was good. Noise levels were generally fine, though louder sounds like furniture movement could occasionally be heard.
The hotel is conveniently located near a convenience store, restaurants, KTV, and a cinema, and it’s about a 10-minute walk from the station. You can also cycle to the night market within 15 minutes, making it super easy to get around the main area without getting a taxi.
Overall, a very good stay and very good value for money. While a gym would be nice, I would definitely consider staying at other branches on future trips.

The hotel is highly accessible and a 5-minute walking distance from the Railway Station with a convenient store nearby. Though the decoration of the hotel is a bit old, it is clean and the front house staff are friendly. Room is spacious and the bathroom comprises both shower and bath tub separately. Only one drawback of the shower cubicle is that the rubber of the door wears out and cannot be closed tight, meaning that water leaks while showering and the floor gets wet outside the bath cubicle.
Bed is comfortable and hot and cold drinking water can be obtained from the water dispenser located on 4/F., 7/F., & 10/F respectively, in addition to the bottled water provided in the room daily - offers much convenience to the tenants.
100-point B&B, with a countryside view, quiet and close to the city. The hostess was super nice. It was the best place to stay during a week of traveling around the island. The room was clean and spacious. The hostess was super nice and helped me upgrade my room for free. I originally planned to go to Yilan and then to the airport the next day. The kids loved it and stayed another night.

Hualien isn't a huge city, and this hotel is conveniently located near Hualien Cultural Plaza with plenty of food options. It's also very close to Dongdamen Night Market, and there's even a sports lottery shop nearby. The breakfast was incredibly rich, although I only ate it once during my three-day stay. I hope Fu Kun-chi steps down soon so Hualien can continue to improve.

GGuest UserThis hotel is located in Kenting's Little Bay, just across the road from Little Bay Beach, and the bus stop is also very close by. The hotel's breakfast spread is fantastic, and the seafood buffet for dinner offers great value for money. The best part is that the restaurant has a window overlooking the ocean (Picture 1), adding a wonderful ambiance to dinner. The hotel's garden is a lovely spot to relax (Picture 2). The swimming pool in the garden was under maintenance, so to compensate guests, the hotel organized some fun activities, like a night crab-hunting trip on the beach. We scared all the crabs away, and only a bunch of hermit crabs (Picture 3) stayed to play with us! ☺️
KkhtravelThe hotel's interior decor is stunning, with a strong Japanese feel. The rooms are clean and spacious, featuring a private onsen and yukata. Plus, there are complimentary drinks and snacks. If you check in around 3 PM, you can enjoy a tea ceremony performance with free green tea and snacks. Breakfast offers a wide and delicious selection!
MMJ FERNThe location is super convenient—just a short walk from Taipei Main Station, which made getting around the city and to the airport so easy. I always felt safe even when coming back a bit late, which is a huge plus when you’re traveling alone.
The place itself is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable, and the common areas are nice if you want to relax or meet other travelers. What stood out the most was how accommodating and friendly the staff were—they’re always ready to help with directions, recommendations, or anything you need.
As a female solo traveler, safety and comfort are everything, and Main Inn definitely delivered. It has a welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home while still being budget-friendly.
Highly recommend this place if you’re planning a solo trip to Taipei 💛

I had a great stay at Hotel PaPa Whale! The hotel's style is really unique and quirky, which makes it stand out from your typical business hotels. The location is absolutely fantastic. It’s just a short 7-minute walk to Ximen Station, making it super convenient to get around the city, and being right on the edge of Ximending means you're in the middle of all the action, shopping, and nightlife.
Location: You really can't beat it for exploring Taipei. The Ximending pedestrian area is literally a few minutes' walk away, so you're surrounded by endless food options. Whether you're looking for a late-night snack, trendy cafes, or authentic ********* street food, you'll find it all right on your doorstep. The proximity to the MRT station is a huge plus for day trips too.
Room & Atmosphere: The room was a decent size, especially for Taipei, and we had plenty of space for our luggage. The vibe is modern and playful. The most... memorable feature was definitely the large mirror on the ceiling above the bed. It certainly adds a fun, slightly ”kinky” twist to the room's atmosphere! It’s a bold design choice that fits the hotel's overall playful and unconventional personality.
Bathroom: One of the highlights was the bathroom. It was impressively large, very clean, and well-appointed, with good water pressure in the shower. It felt more like a boutique hotel bathroom than a standard city hotel one.
Overall: Hotel PaPa Whale is a solid 4-star experience. It combines a prime location, a clean and comfortable room with a fun twist, and a great bathroom. If you're looking for a memorable stay right in the heart of Taipei's most vibrant district, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended for couples or anyone looking for something a little different.
GGuest UserThis stay was in the Pine View room, located in the newer annex. The facilities were new and clean, and the hot spring water quality was excellent. The overall lighting and environment were good. Unfortunately, the shower head was broken. The double bed was made of two single beds pushed together, and the mattresses felt quite old, with a noticeable bump where they joined but a dip in the middle, which made it hard to sleep comfortably. The breakfast offered a decent variety of Chinese and Western options. The staff were friendly and had a good attitude. I'd suggest they pay more attention to the quality control of the bamboo shoots served with the congee; they had a strong rancid smell, as if they'd been sitting for a long time.
KKel5655I stay in Taichung once a week, and if the price and room type are within budget, this is the only place I'll ever stay! The location, room design, and facilities are all excellent, and my wife and kids absolutely love it! Every time I stay in a different room type, I'm never disappointed. I really hope the garage rooms could also be around 1800. It's truly amazing, I give it a very high rating.
AAnonymous UserThe room design is great, the breakfast is delicious, the landlady's service staff are friendly and provide all kinds of inquiries. The room is clean, tidy and comfortable. The hotel is also in a great location, very close to the beach.
CCaleb CreasonHotel is quite nice, staff was very friendly and room as clean and equipped nicely. Breakfast was expansive with a good selection for everyone. The location is within walking distance to many things. We took a nice walk to the science park area and visited one of the local temples. There is also a nice speakeasy bar within 10 min walk (kind of hidden past the starbucks up the hill). I would definitely recommend this hotel to business visitors or tourists as well.
JJayjeejayThe hotel is very professional, nice and clean. The staff is all attentive. The location is just a couple minutes from metro and 5 mins from hip area, Zhongshan, and in walkable distance from the famous night market. Will definitely be back when going to Taipei again.
