Great location! Right next to train station and 5 mins walk from metro station, many shops and local restaurants in the vicinity (and one Starbucks in just a min walk). Not a fancy hotel but good enough for a short trip, with a reasonable price.

I recently stayed at The Grand Hotel Taipei and overall had a lovely experience. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning — the iconic architecture, beautiful interior design, and rich history truly make it a one-of-a-kind place. My room was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, and the view was just as grand as the hotel’s name promises.
However, I did encounter a bit of disappointment regarding a birthday request. I had reached out in advance asking if there might be a small complimentary gesture for my birthday. Unfortunately, since my check-out was one day before my actual birthday, the hotel declined. The response I received via email was quite cold and simply said “no,” with no alternative or warm message, which felt a bit impersonal — especially since staying at this hotel had been a dream of mine for a long time.
Despite that, I still enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel for its unique ambiance and elegant surroundings. I just wish the service had been a bit more accommodating or thoughtful, especially for special occasions.

Supe love our stay in Hotel Midtown Richardson! The hotel room is spacious, spotlessly clean, & since we chose the city view~ has a great view of the park beside the hotel. The lobby is super nice and comfortable to just chill with so many couches. The breakfasr buffet is superb~ great food selections, unli hot & cold drinks, very tasty~ perfect for brunch to power you through the day.🤩 This hotel is beside Ximen MRT station (very convenient when going around Taipei, shuttle meet-ups for exclusive tours & even travelling to and from Taoyuan airport) and a few steps from Ximending (food & shopping district). It has lots of great eats beside and within the area. So glad we booked it. Will definitely come back soon!🙌🏻

The breakfast was very good with a lot of variety.
Overall, it is the top hotel in Hualien. It is right on the mountain and there is also an ocean park next to it. It is very impressive.
The environment is mainly European style, everything is clean, the swimming pool is very good, and you can see the Pacific Ocean

Perfect location. Room is comfortable enough for a short stay in Taipei. It is near convenience stores, cafes, restaurants and about 2 to 3 minutes away from Ximending. It offers buffet breakfast too which offer a wide variety of food options (I like that they offer hot pot during breakfast) my only recommendation is maybe they should give their staff additional training in customer service as they do not greet you when go in or outside of the hotel.

The view from our room (high floor) is amazing! Check in and check out process is easy and smooth. Very friendly owner and staff. Breakfast was yummy too. Would definitely recommend to my friends who come to Sun Moon Lake.

GGuest UserOverall our stay was great! This was our first time in Taiwan Kenting, we were looking for somewhere easy to go from Macau with nice holiday beach feel. We used to go to Thailand but we wanted a change this time.
Location wise it’s very convenient 2 mins walk to the night market where you have tons of food options, street stalls or restaurants wise. You have couples of 7 elevens, family mart, watsons all you need in case you forget to pack something.
There’s bus station “xiaowan” very convenient for sightseeing if you don’t rent a car. Pretty on time and big coaches very comfortable with AC.
In terms of amenities, we thought the hotel could have more beach amenities, beach bar or restaurants would add a huge value for the hotel. Many families would stay all day by the beach if they have bar/restaurant. It was a shame its was closed…
Also the sun lounges could be a bit more comfortable simply just add a thin cushions on top. And again would be great to have a bar for quick bite by the pool.
Our room was the ground floor ones with Jacuzzi, it was a lovely touch since they don’t have bathtub in the bathroom. The little garden is a great touch for morning meditation. :)
We also did a nighttime activity with the hotel by the beach to hunt crabs. It was a great activity and the staff did a great job explaining and helping out.
Food wise, we had breakfast buffet in all 5 days, it was a big selection of food but not much variety. We had a lunch by lobby bar… but was not up to our taste unfortunately. There is much better options outside or hotel.
Oh and they did a little decoration since it was my bday and offered a cheesecake to the room by a robot :).
All in all it was a great experience hopefully they will step up the pool and beach area.

GGuest UserThe rooms are not excessively large and are rather old, but they are clean. The gym facilities are rather outdated and should be reviewed. Breakfast is basic with limited choice, and the quality of the food is not the best. Overall, it can be fine for a one-day stay, as the price is very competitive and the location is excellent.

CClymene LimThoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sun Palm B&B. Have written this review in English, but we communicated with them in Chinese. We stayed at this B&B during the tourism off-peak season (March).
Service - Amazing. They were very responsive on Line, and quick to reply. They were also helpful with our requests/questions (e.g. fetching service to and fro airport, car rental service, traffic road conditions in Penghu) and were polite. They also gave some advice on what can or cannot be done (e.g. we wanted to cycle around Penghu, but they advised us saying Penghu was too big to travel on a bicycle). The driver was always punctual when picking us up, and when sending us to the airport. In fact, he was already there, with the car ready, minutes before we were supposed to leave for the airport - we didn't even need to remind them. The lady boss was very friendly - when we first arrived, she asked if we were new to Penghu (it was our first time), and she introduced where to explore in Penghu, and what to eat. She also told us that if we wanted to do water activities, we can approach them, and they can make a check with the centres to see if they are open since it was off-peak season for tourist activities. We also had some extra request regarding the check out timing, and she helped us with it too. Before we arrived, they also tested the car we wanted to rent, and upon finding out that it wasn't working as well, they provided us with another car instead - this is certainly good service. They also cleaned up the room upon request, and re-stocked the fridge with drinks.
Food - The breakfast was amazing and fresh (see photos). On the first day we had bread + doughstick + egg with spring onion all in one package. It was delicious. On the second day, we had vermicelli and seafood (e.g. squid, prawns). The seafood was really fresh, and the broth was simple and tasty. Each dish was accompanied by fresh fruits / pastry + drink, which was refreshing.
Room - We got the Starry Honeymoon Room. It was very spacious, the room was clean, the amenities were in good condition, and the overall design was aesthetically pleasing. The heart pillow on the bed was a cute addition, and the round bed was big enough for 2 of us. Above the bed there was a window covered with a retractable screen - you can actually look into the sky while lying on the bed, really interesting.
Location - While this B&B is further away from the main city, we didn't feel that affected as they provided airport transfer services. Also, we felt that it being away from the hustle and bustle from the city was actually advantageous, as the B&B's location had a more relaxed, quiet, holiday vibes, which was what we were looking for. There is a 7-11 around 10 minutes from the B&B, so if you need food etc in the middle of the night, you can get it from there. We rented a car, so travelling to other areas wasn't much of an issue.
Overall, I will recommend this B&B to anyone looking to tour Penghu! Am glad to have chosen this B&B for our first ever trip to Penghu :)

KKuantingIt can be seen that the hotel is an old hotel. It takes several attempts to open the door with the room card sensor. There are not many choices for breakfast. During the 9 o'clock breakfast period, the items are not replenished quickly. There are not many parking spaces around. If you check in late, you need to walk a long way. The room was clean enough, but the handrail next to the toilet made it a little difficult to extract the toilet paper. The advantages are that children have tokens that can be used to twist a stamp when they check in, and the sound insulation is pretty good. The disadvantages are that the overall appearance is relatively retro, and there are no water dispensers on every floor, so you have to go to the first floor to get water.

YYu HuanWe recently stayed at Wellspring by Silks in Jiaoxi for a short getaway with my 7-year-old child, and it was one of the most relaxing and family-friendly stays we've had in Taiwan.
Location:
The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Jiaoxi Train Station, making it easy to arrive with a child and luggage. One of the best parts is how close it is to all the great local eateries—from traditional ********* breakfast spots to noodle shops and dessert places, everything is within a short stroll. We loved popping out for quick meals and snacks without planning too much. Even though it's centrally located, the hotel feels like a quiet, relaxing retreat once you're inside.
Room:
Our room was modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The private in-room hot spring bath was a huge hit—not just for me but also for my 7-year-old. The water temperature was easy to adjust, and it became our daily ritual to soak and relax.
Kid-Friendliness:
Although the hotel has a stylish, adult-focused vibe, the staff welcomed children. They provided child-sized slippers, which made my little one feel like a VIP guest. The rooftop pool area was also suitable for kids (with supervision), and we spent a lovely day splashing around with mountain views.
One thoughtful bonus: even after we checked out, we were still allowed to use the rooftop pool and hot spring facilities. That extra flexibility made a massive difference for us — it meant we could enjoy one more relaxing soak and a bit of pool time before catching our train home. It showed how the hotel goes the extra mile to accommodate families.
Facilities:
The rooftop infinity pool and hot spring area are just as beautiful as in the photos—peaceful, scenic, and well-maintained. There's also a cozy lounge with complimentary snacks and drinks, which came in handy for quick breaks between activities. Everything felt clean, well-designed, and easy to access, even with a child.
Service:
The service was warm, professional, and genuinely kind. The front desk staff were helpful with suggestions for nearby places to eat and always greeted my child with a smile. They made us feel welcome from start to finish.
Breakfast:
Breakfast was a treat for adults and kids — a great mix of Western and ********* options. My 7-year-old especially loved the fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, and mini croissants, while I enjoyed the local touches like sweet potato porridge, scallion pancakes, and handmade soy milk.
Overall:
Wellspring by Silks is a perfect blend of peaceful luxury and family-friendly comfort. Whether traveling solo, as a couple, or with kids, it's a great spot to unwind and enjoy the best of Jiaoxi's hot spring culture. We're already looking forward to our next visit.

We enjoy swimming in the pool area,our room is comfy,the food is delicious ,they have these moroccan style outfit for rent that gives highlight to the hotel and it was very entertaining though, i think they just need to add some clothes or a bit repair is needed but overall i would say it worth the penny.and thanks to the very accomodating staff! They did great🙌💚
