5-Star Hotels in Gansu, China

This is the first time I've specifically waited to review a hotel: 1. Location: Less than 10 minutes from the high-speed train station, very convenient. 2. Service: Beyond five-star service! They added me on WeChat in advance, and all the hotel staff were incredibly enthusiastic. Every detail was meticulously taken care of, from bottled water available everywhere to free laundry and drying facilities, complete with laundry detergent. In the evenings, there were complimentary sweet soups, milk, and pastries. It was so convenient when traveling with a child and ordering extra food. There were welcome gifts upon check-in and also gifts upon check-out, plus a play area for kids. An excellent hotel! 👍👍👍

Parking is very convenient, with options both above and below ground, and there are even charging stations above ground. The hotel staff are all very professional and the service is excellent. Even though there were many guests during the National Day holiday, it was very quiet and comfortable. The river view rooms offer beautiful views of the Yellow River. I've tried both sides of the hotel now, and while each has its own charm, I personally prefer the river view rooms for their more expansive and richer views!

This hotel is perfect for late-night flights, especially delayed ones, allowing for a timely and comfortable night's sleep. I loved the breakfast; the food quality was consistently good, and the beef noodles were surprisingly delicious. The service was also unexpectedly warm and attentive. My only suggestion would be to extend the airport pick-up service to 24 hours, especially since it requires a reservation anyway.

I absolutely loved the hotel's 'wild luxury' aesthetic – it's simple yet grand, with a unique and pleasant aroma. 3. The hotel's travel photography service is outstanding! I got the best set of photos I've ever had. Both the makeup artist and photographer were incredibly professional. I was instantly thrilled with the retouched photos just 5 minutes after the shoot, and even more delighted to learn they'd spend another three days on meticulous post-processing. The terrace above the lobby offers a fantastic photo op, especially with the red canopy against the desert backdrop – it's truly magnificent and a unique scene. 4. Given how dry Dunhuang is, the hotel thoughtfully provided complimentary face masks and lotion. 5. They also offered a free transfer to my next hotel.

An absolutely amazing stay, highly recommended! 1. This stay truly exceeded my expectations; it was comfortable and hassle-free from start to finish. I have to give this hotel a huge thumbs-up! From booking to check-in, our butler Bonnie handled the entire process, making it smooth and efficient. Her attitude was warm and friendly. The day before arrival, she inquired about our estimated check-in time and needs. She even helped us arrange our three rooms on the same floor, which was super convenient for communicating with friends and family. She also proactively introduced us to local attractions, breakfast times, and facility locations. Her service was meticulous and thoughtful, instantly making us feel very welcome. 2. The room environment was impeccable—clean, simple, and elegant, with warm and comfortable color schemes that created a fantastic ambiance. 3. The breakfast offered a rich variety of options, with both Chinese and Western dishes available. The ingredients were fresh, the food was delicious, and it could satisfy different taste preferences. 4. Transportation around the hotel is incredibly convenient. It's close to a business district, making dining and shopping very easy. The location is excellent, so getting around was stress-free. Next time I visit Lanzhou, I will definitely stay at the Hilton again and genuinely recommend it to my friends. It's worth returning to again and again!

The room is quite spacious. It's right across from Lanzhou West, not far, about a few hundred meters. You can see it as soon as you exit the West Station, but you have to cross a pedestrian bridge. The bridge doesn't have an elevator, so it's inconvenient to go down with luggage. Every time I go to the subway station, I have to use the bridge... I hope this can be improved in the future.

I had an early morning flight, so I opted to stay at the Parc Culture Hotel, which opened in 2025 at Lanzhou Airport, the night before. This hotel is one of the more luxurious options in the area, with very new and complete facilities in spacious rooms. The service was very attentive; they offered a special welcome drink upon check-in. The airport transfer service was excellent; they proactively called to confirm my itinerary in advance, and the driver enthusiastically helped with my luggage. The ride was about 5 minutes. Breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, and in addition to standard fare, I could enjoy authentic Lanzhou specialties like beef noodles and grey beans. This hotel offers great value for money and is perfect for guests with early morning flights or late-night arrivals.

After a few days in Gannan, I specifically chose a hotel with a bathtub and a pool for a relaxing night. The Yellow River view room offers first-class scenery, overlooking both banks of the Yellow River from a high vantage point. The breakfast was also good, the room was spacious enough, and the service was excellent – anything I needed was provided quickly. There's also a Reader Culture & Creativity shop in the lobby downstairs. I'm a hundred percent satisfied! The price was surprisingly similar to a three-star campsite in Gannan. The cost of living in Lanzhou is surprisingly affordable!

Pros: Great location, and the room was quiet with no smoke smell. It's very close to the Mogao Grottoes Digital Exhibition Center, a 10-minute drive away. During my stay, a male manager was excellent and enthusiastic, willing to solve problems. After checking out, I contacted a hotel staff member named Snow, who was also very responsible in handling the invoice. Areas for improvement: The air conditioner was noisy. The toilet sprayed water when sat on, and the toilet cubicle had a slight odor. The toilet layout was not ideal, being very close to the nightstand, only separated by a glass door. Breakfast was the same every day for four mornings. One morning, the road in front of the hotel was closed for a marathon, and the taxi had to take a long, circuitous route, costing over 50 RMB to get to the Mogao Grottoes (it's usually around 20 RMB). It would have been helpful if the front desk had informed us about this during check-in.

Longnan Wudu's Top Choice: Xingchao Grand Cloudland International Hotel 📍 **Location:** Conveniently located near highway exits, making it very easy for self-driving guests. The routes to Guano'egou and Wanxiang Cave are smooth. 🏠 **Rooms:** The hotel facilities are relatively new, and the rooms are spacious and bright. The bedding is comfortable. The cleanliness details are a plus, with toiletries and towels individually packaged. Given the dry climate in the Northwest, the room's humidification system works very well. 🍳 **Breakfast:** Deserves special praise! It offers a complete selection of Chinese and Western dishes. In addition to regular breakfast items, they also provide authentic local specialties. 🏊 **Amenities:** Features a heated indoor swimming pool and a gym, perfect for relaxing after a long journey. It's also suitable for family trips. Overall, this is a high-standard hotel in Longnan. It's well-suited for business, tourism, and family travel. I would choose to stay here again on my next visit to Wudu!
