5-Star Hotels in Hebei, China

Decided last minute to come to Cangzhou for the National Day holiday and chose this hotel. The whole environment is amazing, and there's plenty of parking. The room environment is also excellent, no weird smells, very fresh, and super spacious. It happened to be Mid-Autumn Festival, and the hotel made its own mooncakes, leaving them in the room daily. Breakfast was also very rich. I was staying with a child, and the hotel even provided a bed rail, which was already set up when we came back to rest in the afternoon – very thoughtful. It's also convenient for getting around to nearby attractions. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Cangzhou.

Overall a great hotel, and we loved our room and the swimming pool (the changing rooms and showers are amazing!) but there were some issues. Our door cards constantly stopped working even though we told the staff every time we extended our booking. The gym was much too hot, almost too hot to work out in. The shower in the room was not hot enough and the water temperature fluctuated a lot. Breakfast was very disappointing; the breakfast room so freezing that a lot of people had to wear their coats to breakfast and a lot of the food was cold even at 7.30am. The service at breakfast was poor and there was little good western food. Undeniably the view is absolutely stunning though. The worst thing was the internet, which even for Chinese websites was extremely slow, and that more than anything else spoiled our stay.

We only stayed for 1 night but really enjoyed the experience. Due to the centralized heating system, our room was extremely hot and reached 29 degrees celsius even with the window open. We ended up calling the front desk at 4:30 a.m., and within 10 minutes, someone arrived with a large fan. She helped us set it up and adjust the temperature, and it quickly became comfortable enough for us to fall back asleep. Thank you for the quick assistance!

The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The service was thoughtful and attentive, and the security was excellent. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Everything was great, room is clean, stuff is friendly. During winter time the location is not great coz all the shops around are closed even KFC and Starbucks but this not hotel’s fault. The breakfast is a bit Chinese but foreigners also can find a lot of options to eat. The only thing I didn’t like is that during the breakfast there was a jar of Nutella but in fact that wasn’t Nutella just some cheap chocolate spread - just use another jar so people won’t be confused.

Service intimate: the hotel provides 24-hour butler service. My butler this time is Truman. He arranges the itinerary very carefully. From the communication before check-in to the instructions after leaving the store, he is very thoughtful. Thoughtful arrangement of car pick-up and delivery, very good 👍🏻 Comfortable room: The room is new and carefully arranged, and some room types are equipped with wine mixing tools. The sea view room has a great view, with 180° panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows facing the sea, and you can watch the sunrise while lying on the bed. The bedding is soft and comfortable, drinks and snacks from the Mini Bar are free, and Luga toiletries are also provided.

The hotel wasn't crowded this season, so it was very quiet. The guy at the front desk even upgraded our room to a balcony room with a beautiful front-facing sea view! It was my first time seeing the ocean at night and in winter, and it had a unique charm! The next day the weather was great, and we even saw the sunrise – it really brightened my mood! The hotel facilities are quite good; even though it's 10 years old, it's still very clean. Every staff member was lovely, warm, and thoughtful. The hotel's location is also excellent, right on the beach, and there are many great restaurants nearby. It's definitely a good hotel I'd return to!

We had a slight hiccup during check-in, and traveling with a child, I really didn't want any unpleasantness. However, thanks to the excellent service from Peach 🍑, everything was resolved smoothly. They never shied away from any issues that arose, always trying their best to offer a discount or a small gift to make my child happy. Sometimes, a hotel's quality isn't just about one person's opinion; if everyone could be a bit more considerate of guests, InterContinental would probably avoid a lot of problems! The bunk bed mattresses could definitely be softer; they were really firm, but my child still loved them, oh well!

One day in advance, the hotel staff Fu Meng took the initiative to contact and ask about specific needs, such as room orientation, children's supplies, etc., and also upgraded the room type for free. The service was very serious and responsible. All kinds of supplies were prepared before check-in. Arrived at 8 o'clock that night, the lobby concierge Xiaotian took the initiative to help with the luggage, and patiently introduced the hotel facilities and surrounding conditions. The front desk presented freshly baked cookies and donkey mascots, which the children liked very much. The hotel room is clean and tidy, the north-facing room has a good view, the swimming pool water temperature is just right, the breakfast variety is comprehensive, and the most important thing is that the quality is very high, not at all makeshift, and it is definitely worth the price. The only two shortcomings are that the north-facing room is close to the road, so there will still be a little noise at night, but it does not affect rest, and the second is that the refrigerator in the room is broken. I contacted the front desk and quickly replaced it with a new one. The response was quick and worthy of praise. I will definitely choose Hilton next time I come to Baoding.
