First and foremost fabulous location. Great restaurant and terrace overlooking pedestrian promenade and beach. Great location for local attractions. Rooms were comfortable, and clean overall. Slightly stained sheet on arrival in one of rooms. Tea and coffee in rooms and no problems topping these up at reception. Was a scorching weekend. There was a portable fan in the room, which made things more comfortable. Staff varied in friendliness but overall were efficient and we had a positive experience. We had the Sunday carvery and a full breakfast the next day. Both were excellent quality and value. Parking is limited but complementary for guests. Would definitely stay here when visiting again.

A very foggy cold night after a busy day it was nice to be welcomed by a friendly and informative receptionist. One nights stay room with small balcony overlooking the golf course and an incredible heater. Water pressure in shower is low but water hot The rooms feel they would benefit from being updated a few ******* . *TV remote didn't turn TV off had to get up and pop hand behind set and turn off at socket. **The hair on the bath definitely not mine! **No obvious hairdryer. ***Room Service called twice extn not answered went via reception transferred to the bar salmon cream cheese on brown ordered arrived quickly unfortunately on white bread. Pink G&T delicious. Breakfast. Warm welcome and explanation offered from team. Great variety and the hot food was hot. **** The team brief at the bar perhaps could have been carried out elsewhere. Checkout painless.

We have been doing our motorcycle training here in Ipswich so have stayed at the Novotel for two weekends now. The staff have been so friendly and accommodating - we’ve really enjoyed the stay. Having a bath in the room has also been a treat. The rooms are well maintained, clean and very comfortable. We’ve enjoyed the pool table and the bar. We’re looking forward to coming back again. The hotel is also very conveniently located.

Impressive old Mill with working wheel featured inside. We were in the top floor of the main building and whilst not the most up to date bedroom accommodation it was clean and comfortable with workable facilities. Really friendly and helpful staff and great breakfast buffet with both continental and full English breakfast options. Would definitely recommend and worked for us due to location to friends and family. Great value for money.

A superb, independent hotel set in the heart of Bury. Dating back to the 1600s, this place is full of rustic charm and character but still offering all modern conveniences you would expect of a 4* hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we were lucky to be upgraded to one of the apartments set in a former blacksmith's. This beautiful suite of rooms, set over two floors was idyllic with everything we needed. Breakfast was superb, cooked to order, with seconds on offer. We highly recommend The Abbey Hotel to anyone looking for accommodation with a personal touch, a stones throw from all the amenities Bury has to offer.

The room smelled horrible. The bed was uncomfortable and the light in the room was terrible. The size of the room is large. The restaurant was good but the breakfast was poor. He needs a renovation

A great location for beach at Aldeburgh & the little Village of Thorpeness and good access for Southwall and Sutton Hoo. Area is beautiful English countryside. Accommodation is exceptional, clean & spacious with a very accommodating hostess Karen. Fantastic breakfasts. Would choose again if back in the area

The joy of the trip began the moment I arrived at this hotel. My Uber driver, upon arriving at the hotel entrance, excitedly exclaimed, ”This hotel is fantastic!” The room and dinner experience were both delightful. The room felt very old-fashioned and timeless. I thoroughly enjoyed my two nights there. It was quiet, beautiful, and warm... The town was beautiful, and the hotel was wonderful too.
