Five-star review! Our family of four (two adults, two children) stayed at this Atour hotel overnight in Haikou while catching a flight. We arrived close to 11 or 12 at night, and check-in was smooth the entire way through.
The room was exceptionally clean, even the corners were spotless. The soundproofing exceeded our expectations; the environment was quiet and peaceful. After a long day of travel, we finally got a good, solid night's sleep.
We booked a twin room, and the two 1.2-meter beds could be combined to form an extra-large 2.4-meter bed, which was plenty spacious for two kids. The room also had a small sofa that could be used for an extra person to sleep on, making it perfect for family travel.
We were especially impressed by the high-quality toiletries; the exclusive shampoo and conditioner had a mild, sophisticated scent. Every detail was meticulously taken care of. Overall, our stay was incredibly satisfying. This is our top choice for an overnight layover, and we'll definitely choose this place again next time we're in Haikou!

This is a four-star hotel, and admittedly, some of the facilities are a bit old. When I arrived in Haikou, it had just rained, and there was a musty smell in the room and corridors, which was a bit off-putting. However, everything else was quite good. What stood out was that the shower water was natural hot spring water, and you could even enjoy the hot springs from 2 PM to 10 PM daily. For a room rate of just over 100 RMB, it's truly excellent value for money. Plus, the hotel is located right in the old town, full of local charm and a lively atmosphere. I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Haikou.

JK Muller**Raving Review of MOS Hotel Haikou**
From the moment I set foot in MOS Hotel Haikou, I knew I was in for a unique experience. The atmosphere is simply enchanting, with a sense of tranquility that envelops you right from the lobby. The clever architectural design showcases bespoke touches that only a true connoisseur of hospitality would appreciate. I found myself drawn to the Garden Restaurant, where I could unwind with a cup of coffee amidst lush greenery, soaking in the inspiration of my surroundings.
The hotel is situated on Hainan, the southernmost tropical island in China, offering a delightful fusion of nature and culture. The fragrant air carries hints of the island’s unique aroma, creating a refreshing ambiance that enhances your stay. The Garden Restaurant is a culinary highlight, serving exquisite Chinese dishes that tantalize the taste buds, complemented by a delightful morning breakfast that fuels your adventures.
What truly sets MOS Hotel Haikou apart is its film-friendly location, making it a perfect place for film and creatives to stay! It’s great for my film crew and talent to experience everything that a boutique hotel can offer. The picturesque settings are ideal for Insta-worthy photos, allowing you to capture the essence of your stay in stunning visuals. Ad3lin3I stayed at Novotel Haikou West Coast for 6d5n. There are a few ways to travel from Haikou Meilan Airport to the hotel.
The most convenient option is definitely taking Didi. The ride usually takes around 40–50 minutes depending on traffic, and the total fare is approximately RMB 70+.
Another option is taking the railway. You would first need to buy a railway ticket to Haikou Railway Station, which costs around RMB 10 and wait for the departure time. After arriving at Haikou Railway Station, you will have to take Didi to the hotel for around RMB 15.
There are also buses available, although I did not personally try this option during my trip.
The hotel provides free laundry facilities including washing machines, dryers, detergent, and even disinfectant for laundry use. Everything worked properly and the dryer actually dried the clothes well, which was very convenient for travellers.
The room was spacious and comfortable. The pillow and bed were cozy, the air-conditioning worked very well, and the room felt warm and relaxing. Daily housekeeping replenished 2 bottles of mineral water and 3 complimentary beverages (sparkling water, Coke, and milk), which was a nice touch.
The staff were also accommodating. They allowed me to extend my checkout by 2 hours, which normal check out timing is at 12pm. (additional late checkout charges at rmb40/hr).
I am staying at level 4 (total there are 5 levels). I was lucky enough to get a room on the same floor as the gym and laundry area, which made everything very convenient.
In terms of location, I think it depends on the purpose of your stay. If your main plan is visiting attractions in the city area every day, this may not be the most convenient option as travelling usually takes around 30–40 minutes by car and each trip can cost around RMB 30+ – 40+ depending on traffic.
However, if you are looking for a relaxing hotel stay near the west coast area, this hotel is actually a very good choice.
One thing to note is that there are not many eateries nearby. The nearest convenient shopping mall area is called Yuanda (well known one), where you can find restaurants, supermarkets, and snacks. You can take didi there at Rmb 5 to 10 or you can walk there also, but I dont suggest.
The only downside for me was that I occasionally noticed cigarette smoke smell in some common areas, and there was a slight dried seafood/damp smell when I return to my room after a day, which may be related to the coastal location but there is a ventilation in the room .
Overall, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel.
*Sorry for the photo quality. I only recorded videos of the room during my stay, so these are screenshots taken from the videos.

BriandebeiMy friends and I stayed for five days, and it exceeded our expectations overall! The cleaning was incredibly thorough, every corner was spotless. The villa's environment was serene, with a stunning mountain view, and the private hot tub was perfect for photos. The three bedrooms and one living room offered ample space, and it was fully equipped with appliances and kitchenware, making it convenient for both travel and daily living. The butler was very responsive, and the service was warm and attentive. It's excellent value for money, highly recommended for groups traveling together!

Front desk not really helpful. Just want you to go as it was the whole time ”OK, OK...” and ”I'll take you to your room”...
But no help with luggage, nor an answer if the kitchen would have something for me to eat... I sent my list of allergies (gluten, dairy, egg, honey and soy) to the hotel's wechat the evening so that they could give it to the kitchen...
First room:
The fridge was not cold.
Bathroom floor wet and entrance floor dirty 😰
The manager came and was friendly and helpful. He helped me with my luggage to another room 8505, which was larger.
Here the fridge was also not really making cold and switched off when going out. They couldn't give an extra card for electricity.
In the morning the manager showed me the different food at the buffet that I could eat, but I never received the pork etc, he promised the previous evening, for breakfast nor answered my message when I asked if I should wait for it...
For breakfast I could eat the fruit and in a steam basket a piece of corn-on-the-cob, sweet potato, yam and taro. They also had corn flakes.
Interesting they had 3 milk options: cow milk, soy milk and coconut milk...
The second evening I spent an hour on Wechat with reception to find out if the kitchen could prepare something for me with my allergies - I did give it the previous evening.... Then I went for a walk on the beach... When I came back, they hadn't prepared the fish! The manager gave me a coconut with a straw to drink the juice...
So I only wasted my time to find out if they could prepare something - I did give them my list in Chinese of what I cannot eat...😰 Luckily I always have some food with me...
The fish tanks are outside the dining room so you can choose your fish fresh.... As in most places in China 😊
Swimming pool was empty.
Good comfortable beds.
Down duvets.
Nice spacious room with little balcony, but balcony has a concrete wall, not glass to see through...
From the premises you go directly onto the beach!
Very nice quiet environment away from the crowds! After the fireworks at 21:00 the outside lights were switched off and then you only hear the sea...
If you do not have transport, it is a bit far, but if you want to go and rest for a few days, away from crowds, then this is a good place 😎🤠🌻🏝️🏖️
Thete are charging facilities for electric cars...

The B&B is beautiful, and the beach is right downstairs, which is super convenient. All the pictures are genuine. It's pet-friendly, and they even deliver food orders right to your room. We booked a family room with two balconies, so hanging clothes didn't obstruct the beautiful view. The customer service staff were also very responsive and helpful with all our questions.

yuanbo630We stayed one night at the Hampton by Hilton Haikou Qilou Old Street for a layover and the experience exceeded our expectations. The most practical amenity was the self-service laundry room – three washing machines and three dryers running simultaneously. For us, traveling with a child and needing frequent clothes changes, it was a lifesaver. The drying efficiency was high; we could wear dry clothes within half an hour. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, proactively recommending nearby attractions and food streets. Check-in was swift, and they thoughtfully provided a children's toiletries kit. The breakfast had a rich variety, with both Chinese and Western hot dishes, freshly cooked noodles, and a selection of breads and pastries, satisfying both seniors and kids. Parking was very convenient for those driving, and with multiple charging stations, there was no stress about charging electric vehicles. Overall, this hotel has new facilities and practical services, without any unnecessary frills. Every detail is designed with the traveler in mind, making it very suitable for business trips or family layovers. We will choose to stay here again next time we visit Haikou. Additionally, the hotel is not far from Hainan University, adding a touch of cultural charm.

ErchuanzaiaoyouI was initially worried after seeing so many negative reviews, but it turns out my concerns were completely unfounded! I highly recommend staying here!
Service: They upgraded my room upon check-in, and I could watch planes take off right from my window – a truly unique experience. As for airplane noise, I didn't notice any at all.
Dining is also very convenient; you can directly access the mini-outlet mall through the hotel's private passage. We ate very well for around 50 per person.
Getting to the airport is also a breeze. We were going to T2, and the hotel shuttle took us directly there in just 5 minutes from downstairs.
The gym wasn't crowded, and the facilities looked quite new. There seems to be a laundry room on every floor, which is very convenient.

We stayed at the Meilun Hotel for a family trip with our kids in Haikou. The location is a huge plus, making it easy to reach Qilou Old Street by simply hopping in a taxi, where we got to experience the charming Nanyang-style architecture. Our room had a pleasant, clean scent, was spacious and clean, and had excellent soundproofing, so our kids slept soundly. The minibar items were complimentary, and the front desk service was good. The hotel also has a laundry room, which was very convenient for washing clothes during our trip. Parking was easy, making getting around stress-free. It's definitely a reliable choice for families traveling to Haikou.
