We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Shikimi. The staff was delightful. They were all so nice and helpful. We also loved the food and they went over and beyond to accommodate our dietary needs. The location was perfect for walking to local tourist spots. If I ever return to Takachiho, I would stay there again.
The hotel's surroundings and location are quite good, perfect for a vacation. However, the hotel is very old, and all the facilities need updating, including the room decor which needs a complete renovation.

The hotel was nice. The size was the same with standard. The location was right in the center of actions and not far from JR station that much. The staffs were great and friendly. The room looked renovated with refreshing look but missing some parts of maintenance and a bit of stains. Overall was a good choice, glad to stay there

Very unexpected hotel
We came here by car.
They have a very large parking lot.
Very good location
The check-in ladies were very friendly.
And also took the initiative to help us book restaurants and taxis in the city
There is a very comfortable lounge area on the first floor
Lots of drinks and snacks to choose from
It is also free for guests to use.
The most amazing thing is that the hotel actually has a small library space
You can drink coffee and read quietly.
The Japanese style room we stayed in was also great
Spacious space
The room has a faint scent of tatami
The view from the balcony is also very comfortable
After taking a bath in the evening, I asked the service staff to help me make an appointment for a massage service.
After pressing it, I slept till dawn.
This is a hotel I will return to! ! 🥰
Although I was staying from another prefecture, the hotel was easy to find as it was located along the road.
The front desk staff were also very friendly and made a pleasant impression.
There was laundry detergent provided, probably for guests staying multiple nights.
It was the first time I'd seen detergent provided in a hotel.
I didn't use it, but I think it was a thoughtful gesture on the part of the hotel.
On the downside, I felt that the signs for the hotel's parking lot for guests were a little difficult to understand.
Also, I could hear a lot of other guests walking down the hallways, talking and making noises.
It might be a bit difficult for people who are sensitive about noises.
Also, the room key seemed... old.
Overall, the room was clean and I would like to stay again.
