4-Star Hotels in Faro District, Portugal

The hotel is not at the city center of Lagos but in a walking distance. The facilities are generally good, but some of them are pretty old and need some repair. For example the toilet door in my room could not close properly as it’s cracked. The breakfast is not too bad. The swimming pools are nice.

Not my first time in Faro but chose this hotel for the rooms with balcony marina view. The hotel has a rich history and has been around since 1960s and its undergoing refurbishments in some areas. The old rooms look dated and could do with better cleaning as previous occupant’s hair was found in the bathroom. We loved the design & aesthetic looks of the new refurbished areas such as the spa, bathrooms, gym, pool & sauna but shame that there was a water leak in the indoor pool ceiling and rusty bits on the stainless steel railings. Considering it’s completed in Aug 2025, the hotel may need to do more due diligence to ensure the safety of guests. As a non Portuguese speaker, I felt that the check-in staff can make more efforts in being warm and welcoming. I noticed that this hotel is one of the few hotels ive been that check-in staffs are seated instead of standing, making the process somehow casual & less welcoming. I also called in to make a request for a late check out and received a hostile response by a lady who said ‘No. We need the room back’. We just got married the day before arriving & we are here to also celebrate my honeymoon & partner’s birthday. Weeks prior to arriving, I put in a request if the hotel could do a birthday special for him but this was not acknowledged. As an avid traveller who has stayed in many hotels around the world, I am a little dissapointed with the lack of personalised attentive service provided by the hotel. If the view & location isn’t a concern, I recommend the nearby 3HB hotel. We enjoyed our stay there. AP Eva senses have a great deal of potential, but they may be complacent at going beyond, as they are currently the only hotel at Faro marina. Additional employees like the elder gentleman pianist & hotel hairdresser were the warmest I’ve come across.

Very nice hotel with great services I regret however that access to the wellness area is chargeable while it is impossible to enjoy the outdoor swimming pool in winter

The hotel is very comfortable and the rooms are very comfortable. It is well parked at some apples at June dates and the centre pila nearby. The worst thing: if you are with children is not recommended because stairs are dangerous. The jacuzzi was broken. The room was struck with a TV, the shower and the bathroom were broken danced but it could be used. They don't make room, they don't change towels, they don't pick up the paperboard, I think they change it weekly. Premiere the aesthetic comfort and we end up uncomfortable with the placement of clothes, baggage and bathroom.

Spotlessly clean hotel with extremely welcoming staff. Swimming pools were a bit cold but that’s the only downside. Breakfast selection was very comprehensive. It’s a slight downhill walk into town so prepare for an uphill walk back. 2nd time here and will definitely be back.

The hotel is just 14 mins walking from the beach. The room was big and very clean. Breakfast is simple but you can find everything. There is sauna and gym, free parking.

It's a great place to take a morning walk or a leisurely walk or jog in front of a beautiful beach. The spa is divided into time slots and requires a fee.

The room is spacious and has a nice vibe. It's a bit far from the beach and sea but the room is quite nice. It would be great if we have a hair dryer in the room.

Good place to stay in the Algarve – unfortunately we ended up in a 1st floor room (ground level) facing the parking lot. Also the shower hat problems and flooded the entire bathroom and some of the hotel room. They did something to improve, but overall it seemed like bad design and still happened a little bit afterwards. Hotel was clean, breakfast was good. I wouldn't call it a ”Hotel & Spa” though – the spa facilities are quite limited, small and some were even out of order.
