4-Star Hotels in Samarkand Region, Uzbekistan

The location was good and the hotel was clean. Overall, I would recommend it. The staff were kind and helpful. When I arrived at the hotel with a same-day reservation, they seemed to have prepared a larger room than expected, allowing me to relax comfortably. There is no elevator, but this is a common building structure in Uzbekistan, so it wasn't a problem. The breakfast was sufficient considering it was included in the room rate. There is a currency exchange machine in the hotel, so you don't have to worry if you're short on cash. Finally, be careful with the bathroom facilities in the room.

We were welcomed like honored guests at the hotel. Administrators Farrukh and Mamur promptly fulfilled all our requests. At breakfast, I asked if there were syrniki (cottage cheese pancakes). There weren't any that morning, but they prepared and brought them to us within 15 minutes. Utair airline delayed our flight by 11 hours, and there were no available rooms to extend our stay at the hotel, but the administrators once again ensured our wait was comfortable. We waited for our flight in the cozy hotel lobby. I'd also like to mention the hotel's location, which in our opinion, is the most convenient in Samarkand: a 5-minute walk to Registan, and excellent access to the hotel. The hotel front desk service was excellent. I believe the gentleman named AMAZIGEN (not sure if I spelled that correctly) was the best; he helped me call and notify local clients, which I genuinely appreciate. Of course, the other staff members were also great, and the hotel's chef prepared breakfast every day. Overall, it was a very good experience.

The hotel is perfectly located, a 15-minute walk from Registan Square. It's very clean, the bed is comfortable, and the towels are crisp white. The breakfast is quite good, and the coffee machine was a plus, along with fruit and vegetables. I recommend it.

Shahjahon Hotel is located in a very unassuming neighborhood, tucked among local houses and small shops. But once you step through its gates, you’re welcomed by a magnificent, quintessentially Uzbek façade, charming! Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was especially cozy after a long day of exploring. We were treated to a typical Uzbek breakfast, generous and nourishing. The hotel is just a short walk from Registan Square and the main historical attractions, making it very convenient. A lovely and comfortable base for exploring Samarkand.

The hotel's breakfast was excellent, and the overall environment was very pleasant. There's a man-made river right next to the hotel that gets quite lively in the evenings, and you can see the Hilton across the river. It was a good experience overall.

Good hotel. We consistently dined at the restaurant à la carte, and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The only issue was when ordering room service, the restaurant staff mixed up our order, and we had to wait 1.5 hours for them to remake our dinner. The rooms are large, clean, and overlook the rowing canal, with a balcony. The mini-bar was empty. Housekeeping was daily, with water refills and fresh towels. In the evening, you can relax on the attic terrace. The spa is located in the neighboring 5-star hotel of the same chain (guests get a 50% discount), and it's very good. Breakfasts were excellent, constantly refilled, and the waitstaff quickly cleared everything away. Overall, I recommend this hotel 5/5, it was the best part of our vacation in Uzbekistan.

Stayed here for 3 nights, the reception is really helpful and friendly. The room was huge, beds are comfy & breakfast spread was nice. There’s a small incident where when I checked in I asked the reception how do I use the laundry service, and he gave me wrong information which ended up they didn’t do my laundry and I was out of clean clothes. I called the reception at 7pm (the laundry is closed) and they quickly send someone to collect the laundry from me & send it back to me, cleaned the next morning at 8am. But actually the laundry service is only available 10am-6pm. Glad that they took a swift action on this matter!

I had a pleasant stay at Meridian Plaza Hotel. The location, facilities, and overall amenities were excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, there were a few housekeeping issues that could be improved. On one occasion, the trash in the bathroom was not emptied during room cleaning, and a cleaning cloth was accidentally left hanging on the door handle after housekeeping service. While these were minor issues, paying closer attention to housekeeping details would make the guest experience even better. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would consider staying here again.

The front desk staff spoke excellent English. We were a party of three and booked a twin room and a king room, which were conveniently located on the same floor – that was great. The hotel is located outside the city center, but it's not too far, and getting a taxi is very affordable. It's wonderfully quiet at night. The hotel also offers complimentary massages. There's a small scenic area nearby with Central Asian Islamic architecture, which is newly renovated and much better maintained than some of the older, less-kept attractions in the city center. The restaurants within this scenic area serve delicious food, though they are a bit on the pricier side for this city.
