Hotel room when we first check in was a king junior suite however its old design with dated furniture. The sofa is v dirty n causes us to itch when sitting on it .
We were able to change our room to a newly renovated ones which was clean n modern . However the bathroom does not have any hooks or towel racks to hang up yr clothings or towels . Toilet is not fitted with bidet spray . But overall the newly renovated room was much better . The staff is v helpful in helping to change the room . I’m so glad I chose the Mehood Elegant Hotel. It was the perfect location — close to everything, not too crowded, yet not too remote either. I traveled solo with my 14-month-old toddler, and he was absolutely spoiled by all the hotel staff. Everyone treated us with so much kindness and care.
Jerry checked us in and out and even gave me a cute fridge magnet. The breakfast was delicious with so many options to choose from, the rooms were cleaned daily, and bottled water was always replenished.
Xiao Jun also took great care of us, and Yinhe Juan felt like an auntie to us. We looked forward to seeing them every morning at breakfast. They all made my stay feel so warm and welcoming — truly like a home away from home.
I’m incredibly grateful for their hospitality, and if I ever find myself back in Shanghai again, I’ll definitely be booking Mehood.

The location is great, right next to the Jing'an Temple commercial district. It's also close to the subway station, and it's easy to hail a taxi right outside, making it very convenient for getting around.
This is an older, well-established hotel. The room facilities are a bit dated and show their age. When I first opened the door, there was a strong musty smell. The staff upgraded me to an AI Deep Sleep room, which was indeed very comfortable for sleeping, perfect for light sleepers.
One downside is that you have to go downstairs to pick up food deliveries, as there are no robots. Also, with so many guests during the summer, the efficiency of the front desk needs improvement. There were also a lot of kids during the summer, which made it a bit noisy. Overall, it's decent and considered a good value-for-money hotel in the Jing'an commercial area. Since I was only staying for one night, I didn't bother asking staff to switch rooms. I turned on the ventilation and opened the windows and doors for about three or four hours before the smell mostly dissipated. The staff's service attitude was excellent. Please enforce the no-smoking policy in rooms more strictly. The fines clearly stated on the no-smoking signs should be strictly implemented. During the Dragon Boat Festival, I brought my family for a trip nearby. The Shimao Wonderland InterContinental, though I'd heard mixed reviews online, I decided to experience it for myself. After confirming our check-in time and our preference for a quiet room, Hanna from the front desk proactively added me on WeChat. She reminded me that because it was a holiday and there was an amusement park nearby, parking might be tight, advising me to inform her 30 minutes in advance so she could make arrangements. We checked in on Dragon Boat Festival noon, and I was surprised to see the lobby's seating area packed with people and a long queue at the front desk. However, thanks to Hanna's foresight, our room was already reserved, making the check-in process quick and efficient. Our room was arranged away from the elevator, and the soundproofing was remarkably good. We couldn't hear any plumbing from the adjacent rooms or the floors above/below, whether it was the shower or the toilet. This undisturbed experience is a rare find, whether in hotels built years ago or newly constructed ones, a truly effective soundproofing is hard to come by. There was a minor issue with the sink drainage during our stay, which was promptly resolved, showing their attentive service. However, I have to complain about the sink's design; it was a square basin, which easily splashed water, and water tended to accumulate near the faucet – not very practical. Our stay included a complimentary travel photoshoot with three free photos. The photographer was excellent at creating a lively atmosphere, and our family portrait turned out vibrant and natural, boosting our mood significantly! Online reviews for the Western restaurant were mediocre, but the Chinese restaurant, Cai Feng Lou, received many positive comments. I spontaneously decided to try it, worried about not getting a table, but Hanna immediately helped us book a table for that evening. The standout dish in the set meal was the diced wagyu beef – a true test of a chef's skill. Each piece was large, yet perfectly tender, flavorful, and didn't get stuck in your teeth. This mastery certainly justifies the numerous trophies and prestigious brand accolades at the entrance! At the restaurant entrance, there was also an introduction to the Shimao Quarry Hotel's background and construction history. Indeed, many aspects of its design were quite visionary, considering it took 12 years to build! The cliffside light show at 8:30 PM featured stunning opening audio effects, and the fountain design added a lot to the visual impact of the mythological story. The Chenshan Botanical Garden, included in our hotel package, was even more amazing. I felt like I could spend two days there, enjoying nature, the charm of the vast lawn, the beauty of the dawn redwood forest, and the tranquility of the camphor forest. Overall, it was a good experience, but the price was just too unfriendly. Even without it being a major holiday, it was so expensive. They gave us an ideal room with a view of the Pearl Tower! The service was excellent; they really went out of their way to help us due to our flight cancellation because of a typhoon. At the reception, there were Russian-speaking hostesses, and the local hostesses also spoke decent English.

On the downside, breakfast was very specifically Chinese, you really had to pick and choose what to eat to avoid food you weren't accustomed to. Also, the hotel allegedly miscalculated our stay twice, increasing the cost retroactively each time. Another unpleasant detail is that booking this hotel through Trip.com is considered a pre-booking, and you will effectively be charged twice at the hotel itself, plus a deposit for your stay. Coming to Shanghai, I specifically chose the Pagoda Hotel (Fudan University, Shanghai Branch) that I've been eyeing for a while. I booked the Deluxe Family Twin Room for four people, and the experience truly exceeded my expectations!
First of all, the hotel's location is fantastic! It's right in the Wujiaochang business district and KIC (Knowledge Innovation Community), next to University Road, which has a ton of trendy restaurants and cafes. In the evening, we went to a folk bar nearby, and it was a wonderful experience. It's also super close to Fudan University; we even took a walk on campus in the morning, which was lovely.
Back in the room, it was incredibly spacious, absolutely not cramped for a family of four. There were two large beds, plus a tatami mat that could be used for sitting or lying down. We had tea and snacks on it during the day, and there was plenty of space to move around. The smart room control system was so convenient; a simple voice command could open or close the curtains and turn the lights on or off. Through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, we had an unobstructed view of Wujiaochang's city skyline, which was truly expansive.
The hotel's service was also excellent. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the butler even asked about our accommodation preferences in advance. There's also a free self-service late-night snack bar after 9 PM, which was a pleasant surprise! The mini-bar was complimentary, and all the in-room amenities were well-stocked. Plus, food deliveries were brought up by a robot, which was both convenient and private. The hotel also has a gym and a laundry room, which is incredibly thoughtful for families with children, allowing us to wash and dry clothes anytime.

As soon as I walked through the door, the front desk staff immediately stood up and greeted me warmly. Her tone was gentle and friendly, and she maintained a sincere smile, instantly easing any awkwardness I felt as a first-time visitor. I hadn't brought all the necessary documents with me and had many questions about the process, required materials, and fee standards. I was worried it would take a long time and that the staff might become impatient, but she was incredibly patient throughout, without a hint of perfunctoriness or laxity.
She clearly explained each step of the process item by item. For technical terms I didn't understand, she rephrased them in easy-to-understand language and explained them repeatedly. Thoughtfully, she took out a pen and paper, wrote down a detailed list of materials I needed to provide, and noted important considerations for each item, saving me from making multiple trips. While I was waiting for the procedures to be processed, she saw me standing and proactively guided me to the seating area, even offering me drinking water. Her attentiveness was evident in every detail.
When handling the business, she was skilled and efficient, verifying information carefully and meticulously. She double-checked every detail with me to prevent any errors. Midway through, I added several additional questions related to various different services, and she answered each one in detail, proactively informing me about related benefits and precautions, showing incredible thoughtfulness.
Throughout our entire interaction, her demeanor was appropriate, polite, and humble, and her speaking pace was just right. She showed empathy for the customer's difficulties and displayed no impatience or perfunctoriness. Her professionalism and service awareness were impeccable. It's precisely because of such a diligent, responsible, and thoughtful front desk employee that the overall image of the establishment has been greatly enhanced, making my entire process smooth and worry-free.

It's so true that Shanghainese people only get to be tourists in their own city when they're visiting from out of town! 😄 I have to rave about the Gold Room – every detail was just perfect! It's a shame I checked in late and missed dinner. I absolutely loved the breakfast at F9; it was much quieter than the first floor and the food quality was superior. The afternoon tea served with Narumi tableware was also a lovely, high-end touch. The swimming pool was quite small, and having three lifeguards watching just me swim was a little awkward. 😅 Many of the staff were Shanghainese, and hearing their familiar local dialect was so comforting! The parking garage, due to the historical nature of the building, had its inconveniences. Ultimately, the true highlights of the Peace Hotel are its architecture, the meticulous soft furnishings, and its rich historical heritage. By day, it’s a forest of skyscrapers, and by night, it transforms into a dazzling display of lights. The room's amenities are well-maintained, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the triangular bathroom with a scenic bathtub is perfect for taking photos.
The hotel's location is impeccable, with the Lujiazui business district and the Huangpu River just a stone's throw away. From check-in to room service, the entire experience was smooth, and the staff were attentive and courteous.

The facilities are very well-maintained, and even though the hotel's name has changed, the service and cleanliness are still top-notch!
