Location was good, service was good. Just to mention their centralised air-condition system, every traveller has their own comfortable temperate to feel relax, crowne plaza always kept it at 25 degree in the summer and made it stuffy to sleep well at night. Despite they had a wall-mounted adjustable temperate controller, it was not working. The last time we stayed was during the winter and they kept the temperature at 25 degree and kept the windows shut, which forced us to change hotel at the 2nd night and forfeited the rest.

Stayed here recently and overall had a pretty average experience considering a big brand like Pullman. The location is fantastic — right above the metro, which makes getting around super convenient.
That said, the hotel could use a bit of refreshing. I had to change rooms after the first night due to a water heater issue. But shoutout to the relations manager, who handled the situation really well and even upgraded me to a nicer room, which definitely made the rest of my stay more pleasant.
One thing that could really be improved — ******* deliveries. It’s quite a hassle to go down to collect items yourself. Would be a huge plus if they had delivery robots or some system to send items up to the rooms, like some other hotels in Shanghai already do.

This hotel is so~~~~ great. I am so touched by their service. Best Shanghai hotel ever. Those people at the front desk were fantastic. They even provided free Yu Yuan tour with guests. Right next to the Bund and Yu Yuan, both short walking distance. Don't worry if your room doesn't have a good view since in the 11th floor common balcony, any guests can have a beautiful view of the Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl Tower. Overall I had a decent experience at this hotel, but the service was lacking, which is a shame since the property is very nice. When you check into a 5 star hotel, there are certain expectations and unfortunately this hotel did not meet them.
Upon arrival there is usually a doorman, helping you with your luggage, opening doors and showing you to the reception. There were none when I arrived. That's fine, not really an issue.
However after I dragged my luggage to the reception the staff ignored me for a solid minute while I was standing right in front of them. Not exactly a five star welcome. Of course the room wasn't ready so I had to wait 15-20 minutes to get my key.
The room was nice and clean with a great view, but had a bit of a strange layout where the sink was in the hallway and the shower in the corner so there's no real place to change clothes unless you close the curtains.
It was raining a lot during my stay but the staff were kind enough to lend me a broken umbrella. Better than nothing I guess. That might actually have been her personal umbrella so I appreciate the gesture nonetheless.
During my stay I had a strange feeling of not really being welcome, which I've never had at a hotel in China before.
Upon checkout the staff tried to pressure me multiple times to give a five star review and include certain names in the review which I did not appreciate. That needs to be earned.

We asked for a quiet room and it was sorted out very quickly and we were even able to check in a little earlier. A special thank you to the lovely gentleman Alex at front desk who is professional, helpful and is an absolute star ⭐️
Our room on level 5 though having no view was nice and quiet and as described online. The walls are quite thin so you can sometimes hear people next door/upstairs etc… but not too much to ruin the stay.
Breakfast was ok. Lots of Chinese and western options so even a fussy eater will find something to eat.
Keep in mind if you are being dropped off/picked up by a taxi, it will be done on the street as there is no off road spot at the front of the hotel.

The Fairmont Peace Hotel is by the far the best I’ve ever experienced in Shanghai thus far. The service at check in was fantastic and friendly and so accommodating. The lady spoke perfect English which helped me a lot and went so far as to walk us to our room and explain some key points. All staff are wonderful and smiling and so willing to help. I was satisfied with everything except the concierge service: some packages from Taobao were accepted by the hotel representative but never reached my room. Very clean, beautiful lobby and restaurant on 2nd floor. The restaurant offers a buffet very large and delectable selection of food, specialty items, desserts and variety is incredible! Enjoyed the ice cream bar! Great service, too!
Staff attentive, and the Spa offered a very nice massage treatment with body scrub and essential oils for a relaxing treatment after a very long flight! My blood was circulating again and the firm pressure of Momo, was certainly very good!

my 4 day stay at the Shanghai edition was exceptional. The facilities plus the amenities were top notch and clean. the bathrooms and the toilets were meticulously cleaned every day, and my sheets brand new when I returned to my room at night. But what made this experience the most special was the staff. Every employee I encountered was attentive and kind; going out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible. A shoutout to edric, who helped me a lot during my stay. He is the most professional hotel employee I have ever encountered. He went out of his way to assist with reservations and also took the time to make sure my stay was both fun and smooth. He was attentive and found ways to resolve my problems. I can't praise the butler team at The St. Regis Shanghai Bund enough! My stay happened to coincide with my birthday, and Amber, Boris, and Astrid from the butler team, upon learning this, went above and beyond with surprises: a warm, handwritten birthday card, a St. Regis signature teddy bear so adorable I couldn't bear to put it down, and a beautifully arranged petal bubble bath in the room – the ambiance was absolutely perfect. What was even more thoughtful was the custom room key cards and luggage tags they prepared, and Amber even gifted us her personal St. Regis signature pin to adorn the teddy bear! Every single detail felt incredibly thoughtful, truly showcasing their commitment to personalized service. Throughout my stay, any request was met with an instant and professional response from the butler team, leaving me feeling meticulously cared for. Mostly up to par with Sukhothai Bangkok although in Bangkok, I would say the staff appears friendlier and you feel more welcomed. Probably China is so advanced digitally, maybe the staff feels that their guests could get by and manage mostly everything by themselves. Well, not for those of us who wanted to ‘not think’ and be pampered. The control system in the room is a little backward and not very sensitive. Somehow the WiFi didn’t quite work in my case but I didn’t realise it (as my data roaming takes over when WiFi is weak) until the morning I was to check out. I enjoyed my spontaneous night stay at the Kempinski. I mainly went there to experience Le Petiti Chef, given to me as an early birthday present. The night stay was decided upon after our experience at LPC. However, the hotel is a bit dusty, especially on the floors with the rooms, as I just couldn’t stop sneezing being there. Shower slippers should be provided as the shower floor could do with a little more cleaning.
The finger foods during happy hour and afternoon tea were amazingly delicious but the breakfast food that requires going back to the drawing board. Huge disappointment, so much for being the most important meal of the day. I ordered eggs and pancakes off the menu and the scrambled eggs were very tasteless, it didn’t even taste like eggs. I think there was way too much watery milk in there, and the pancakes were literally two pan sized raspberry cakes. Nothing close to the texture or consistency of an actual pancake. And it was served with honey, where is the maple syrup or pancake syrup? The only good thing at breakfast for me was the latte and cappuccino.
And that welcome fruit platter, that needs to be worked upon, hardly a platter for starters and put more thought into the fruit because you guys had better fruits at the tea time and happy hour.
Overall, for the price of one night, more attention to detail is needed. Also this whole pre-authorised thing is stupid. It comes like you have to first fork out over 5600 plus just for your night stay. I have stayed at the J hotel and they don’t require this nonsense, if you need a higher deposit just say so.
The WiFi sucks and no matter how you turn the taps the water is hot. Turn it to cold it is hot, turn it to hot it is boiling hot. So, the water temperature goes from hot to hottest, not sure why that was the case in our room.
Anyways, on the plus side, the bed was comfy, the river view is beautiful and the few staff members I came across were very friendly and just about everyone spoke some level of English, which to me is a must when it’s an international hotel.FromKRW 167,554
