I had a great experience at Crowne Plaza Shanghai. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service throughout my stay was excellent. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with everything I needed to relax after long days out in the city. The hotel has a classic charm and a peaceful atmosphere that made me feel at home. I also really appreciated the convenient location, close to shops, restaurants, and transport. Overall, a wonderful stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others!

Stayed 3 nights in the hotel and so glad for that as the location is prime! So easy to access Nanjing East Pedestrian walk and the Bund. Food is all around. We booked a bund view room and no regrets. The view is awesome. Special mention to Oliver. He is the most service-oriented staff we have encountered for this trip. When we came back from our Hangzhou trip for another 2 nights in same hotel, he ensured our room was ready and in good condition, even messaging us to inform that. He also provided recommendation when we asked him where we can find good food. Great customer service. Also saw him providing help to all the other guests, always patient. The staff at the mini bar on lobby floor was also very nice and friendly. Overall, happy to have chosen this hotel.

Stayed here recently and overall had a pretty average experience considering a big brand like Pullman. The location is fantastic — right above the metro, which makes getting around super convenient. That said, the hotel could use a bit of refreshing. I had to change rooms after the first night due to a water heater issue. But shoutout to the relations manager, who handled the situation really well and even upgraded me to a nicer room, which definitely made the rest of my stay more pleasant. One thing that could really be improved — ******* deliveries. It’s quite a hassle to go down to collect items yourself. Would be a huge plus if they had delivery robots or some system to send items up to the rooms, like some other hotels in Shanghai already do. All in all, decent stay with great service recovery, but a revamp of the hotel is overdue.

This hotel is so~~~~ great. I am so touched by their service. Best Shanghai hotel ever. Those people at the front desk were fantastic. They even provided free Yu Yuan tour with guests. I have to thank so much to Jerry. He helped every thing for us. Very considerate and delicate service. He should be the global best hotelier!!! Location is very good. Right next to the Bund and Yu Yuan, both short walking distance. Don't worry if your room doesn't have a good view since in the 11th floor common balcony, any guests can have a beautiful view of the Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl Tower. I loved their breakfast as well. The lady who checked in for my family for the restaurant was so great. I forgot her name, but maybe Camela. I really appreciate you! 1st floor bell crews were so kind as well. I definitely want to come to this hotel again. My families Shanghai visit was much happier because of these people. If I come again, I will stay with them. Thank you and miss you, everyone.

Hotel was modern and clean. (Looks new and quite Western!) Amenities are well equipped, they even provided a charging cable. Perfect layout for me travelling with elderly parents. Location is conmvenient, walking distance to North Bund and The Bund 外滩。 Staff were helpful and friendly with recommending food places nearby. It's located on a main street but there are actually a number of small local eateries in the small streets nearby. Will stay again next time I come to Shanghai!!!

This is my 2nd stay at this hotel. Location is superb with easy access to subway station, Nanjing Rd walking street, restaurants, shopping malls, to the Bund & more. We stayed at the family room with breakfast for 3 adults and it was spacious enough for 3. Breakfast spread is very good from western to local - yummy! Our room includes the access to the executive lounge which was very nice - had afternoon and even drinks and snacks there. We enjoyed the gym very much, it was a properly equipped one with a super cute and friendly cat that comes in every now and then to say hello. The best gym mascot every :-)

I had a wonderful one-night stay at The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi in May. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless and up to the high standards you’d expect from a Langham property. The location is excellent—right in the heart of the Xintiandi district, with great access to shopping, dining, and cultural spots. A special highlight of my stay was the complimentary birthday arrangement thoughtfully prepared by the Guest Relations team for my twin daughters. It was a lovely surprise and truly added a personal touch to the experience. Their attention to detail and warm service made the celebration extra memorable. Highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure travelers looking for luxury, comfort, and attentive service in Shanghai

Great location!!! Right exit 1 Nanjing east station. 5 mins walk to the Bund and People’s square. The room is spacious with great amenities. They provide bottles of water all days. Comfy bed and pillows. The rug is a bit dirty, you can see lots of hair stuck on it. ONLY thing that bother me the most is AC. You can see tons of dust and maybe mold on the vent which is very uncomfortable to breathe in. Breakfast is good. They have some selection for foreigners, not only Chinese food. The seat is not enough, I totally understand that it starts from 6.00 but honestly as travelers who would wake up at 6 for breakfast after the long walk for sightseeing all days long. I would suggest that maybe they could move the time later a bit.

Excellent location right on Nanjng walking Street and 2 buildings away from Peace Hotel, but not noisy as street noise are blocked by the double windows. No view of the Bund but only a 3 mins walk from the Bund. Down side for location is that any car pick up needs to walk around 2 mins to the street corner. Great b’fst selection with Chinese & Western option buffet, different coffee tea milk juice, etc. Staff are super friendly and courteous, late check out till 1 pm is always given if you ask. Pillows are on the soft & flat side so you might want to ask for harder pillow, free bottle water at each floor’s lift lobby take all you can drink.

A very decent, practical and comfortable stay. The location is within 5mins walk from the nearest Metro Station (Dapuqiao). The hotel has aged, but still very well-maintained. The room is spacious, bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is big and nice as well. Breakfast is decent but a little disappointing, especially if you come down late they may not top-up the food and beverages anymore. But the selection is quite good. The hotel is a bit aged. Since it was an iconic 5-star hotel in Shanghai, I thought the hotel would keep upgrading itself and kept itself up with the other 5-star hotels in the city, and I was expecting the Japanese style toilets in the room but unfortunately the hotel does not have them. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices but do not expect too much. The employees were ok, but nobody came to the taxis/cars to assist the customers with their luggage, and it took too long for the amenity items, such as tooth brushes, to get delivered to the room.

I’ve lived and traveled around China for 6 years and have been to Shanghai countless times trying many different types and levels of hotels. The Fairmont Peace Hotel is by the far the best I’ve ever experienced in Shanghai thus far. The service at check in was fantastic and friendly and so accommodating. The lady spoke perfect English which helped me a lot and went so far as to walk us to our room and explain some key points. All staff are wonderful and smiling and so willing to help. The room was clean and quiet and had all the modern finishings to make life easy while blended into a beautiful and traditional style. The Jazz Band is a must see and the small museum is lovely. The Phoenix Restaurant produced some delicious food. Overall I cannot stop singing the praises of this hotel. Also location is fantastic for tourists. We are given a warm welcome and free upgrade to a higher floor for a better view. Appreciate that. Encountered a small incident when we check in. Something fell from the ceiling and nearly hit my friend. Feedback to reception n investigation was quickly carried out. Impressed at their quick turnaround. Findings it was dried paint from the ceiling. Have me wondering. Quite a big patch and corners are sharp. I took a pic of one of them. We were given upgrade to higher floor with desserts n sweets. However the access to the executive lounge that came with the room was not granted. Hotel will have give us the full access if they are sincere in their apology. That will be an extra step and beyond from Marriott to set them apart. Anyway, their housekeeping is mediocre. Dusty at some places and they did not clear the used cutlery. Expect the guests to wash ? Other than this , the rest of the stay is still enjoyable. Location is near Nanjing road n malls n dining. McDonald CHAGEE n subway downstairs. Need to take didi to the bund. Short drive.

DO NOT book this hotel unless you are planning to drive or take a taxi every time you enter the hotel. Getting to the hotel while walking is very difficult: It's about a 25-30 minute hike from the subway station (map apps will lead you through street that are not accessible) and requires a 15 minute walk that includes hiking up a steep incline through a parking garage and then a *very* long walk across blazingly hot parking lots (no shade) while dodging cars (no sidewalks). See pictures. The room itself was great, though! No cigarette smoke smell, new, and clean. I really wanted to like this hotel, but it's just too hard to access, lol.

The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

Facilities were to the level that you would expect from a Hyatt Hotel. Location ok with easy access to the subway station and the ferry terminal. Adequate food options available in the area. Con’s The lift from ground floor to the reception on 54th floor. This lift doesn’t go higher so you need to exit the lift walk through the lobby and go to another bank of lifts to then travel to your room. Same for going down, two sets of lifts walk through the lobby to access the lift going to the ground floor. I extended my initial one night stay to two additional nights so I went to reception and asked the staff member to update my room card otherwise it wouldn’t let me in the room. Explained to the staff member, she checked my new booking in the system, asked if I had already paid I answered yes it was paid via Trip. She then handed me the room cards back, I asked her again if the cards had been updated. She replied yes. I went out for a few hours came back same scenario lift to lobby walk through find the other lift go to room. Key card doesn’t work, went down the lift walk to the lobby…….same girl Oh let me check with another person. Key cards handed back, walk to the lift go to my room and the door opens. Wanted to enquire about sending a jacket back home via post, spoke with reception who called the concierge ground floor then advised me to go to the concierge at around 8am to discuss. I went to the concierge ground floor and was told postal service has a minimum fee of 500 yuan but they would check the cost and call my room. No call was made to my room. On checking out there were room service charges that reception and I agreed would be deducted from the deposit and the balance returned by way of how it was paid. Apple Pay I left Shanghai and continued my travel in China, I received a call from Trip advising me that Hyatt had contacted them regarding an unpaid room service bill. I explained above to the Trip Agent who reverted back to Hyatt. Trip Agent called me back and explained that Hyatt had inadvertently refunded the full amount without deducting the room S bill and they wanted payment. We agreed that Hyatt would contact me via email. I checked my Apple Pay wallet and could see that the Hyatt had attempted twice to charge me the fee which was declined by Apple Pay as no point of sale authorisation was provided by me. I feel this was deceptive by Hyatt and not acceptable. After returning home I received an email from Hyatt with payment options QR code, I checked that the initial deposit had been refunded before processing the payment. The deceptive action by the Hyatt in trying to process charges without my knowledge or consent is not acceptable.

One of the highlights of my trip to Shanghai was the staying at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jingan. Very impressed w the interior decoration, a harmonious fusion of Western and Eastern cultures, invoking a sense of nostalgia of the old Shanghai. All services in the hotel, from the rooms to the lobby, are very professional with attentions to details. We particularly appreciated the staff members at the Registration desk, especially Jasmine and Bobo whose hospitalities were superb, making us feel instantly at home. The food here set a high bar for luxurious dining, surpassing many other five-star hotels. We were lucky to sign up to the complimentary High Tea which offered a colorful selection of pastries and delicious finger food. The legendary breakfast buffet has never disappointed us, including a wide variety of Western and Chinese food, such as traditional Shanghai snacks, wantons and noodles. Beautiful hotel with well designed lobby and rooms. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Jing An. Staff are super professional, very attentive and look after you well. One downside is a fundamental for a hotel, we didn’t get one good nights sleep. The beds are great but the room was too warm, even in early spring when the temperature was still low outside. However, the air con was very loud, even on low setting, so to sleep you either had the noise or it was too hot. One night there was also very loud road construction noise from outside from 3-5am. It’s a city, so this happens but other hotels in Shanghai that we’ve been to before seem to make it their business to know and take proactive measures in like informing and apologizing to guests in advance, putting guests in rooms away from the noise, or at least providing earplugs.

The hotel’s location and view were excellent—particularly if you choose one of the Bund or river view rooms. However, there was a construction site directly in front of the hotel, and the noise was quite disruptive; I could clearly hear it from the 23rd floor, and it kept me awake from early morning. The Vue rooftop bar is lovely—arguably one of the nicest in Shanghai along the rooftop at Bund 18. The staff had a somewhat aloof demeanour, and only a few spoke English, so communication often required the use of a translation app. The room quality was fairly standard—nothing luxurious—but the price was reasonable compared to other luxury hotels along the Bund. That said, the service level was noticeably below that of places like the Fairmont or Waldorf Astoria, both of which are more centrally located in the heart of the Bund, near Nanjing Road, the famous 2km shopping street. Of course, the Bund-view rooms at those hotels come at a much steeper price. The gym was quite basic—functional but nothing special—and the indoor pool was similarly standard, so don’t expect luxury in those areas. I used Didi to get around, and the hotel’s location was very convenient in that regard. If I find a good deal with one of the true luxury brands, I’d probably opt for that instead. However, I wouldn’t rule out returning to the Hyatt on the Bund—it’s a decent option if it fits your budget. I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of great cafés and coffee shops in Shanghai.

The Edition is my all time favorite hotel brand and I’m so glad I got to experience it in Shanghai. The service was exceptional from the moment I got out of the taxi. Staff were already waiting to greet me and help with my luggage. Check-in at the front desk was smooth and every staff member I interacted with from the restaurant to the bar was incredibly friendly and spoke English well. My room was clean and had an amazing view. I highly recommend staying here. They truly went above and beyond my expectations.

The St. Regis was absolute perfection from start to finish. The staff were attentive and genuinely caring, the rooms were beyond beautiful, and the breakfasts were nothing short of amazing. Every aspect of the hotel exceeded my expectations. The art and decor are absolutely stunning — there’s a unique charm and elegance to the space that reminded me of the atmosphere in the BioShock series, which fans of the game will definitely appreciate. I’ll absolutely be back. Thank you to the entire team at The St. Regis for such an unforgettable experience.

The service at the front desk lead by duty manager Cameron was impeccable. They can communicate effectively with foreigners. The cleaners cleaned thoroughly every night, and the breakfast staff were kind The room is large, great if ur staying with a friend. Our only one complain is the bed, the bed and pillow were not to our liking and the aircon kept turning on and off through the night. But the service at the hotel made up for it.

I enjoyed my spontaneous night stay at the Kempinski. I mainly went there to experience Le Petiti Chef, given to me as an early birthday present. The night stay was decided upon after our experience at LPC. However, the hotel is a bit dusty, especially on the floors with the rooms, as I just couldn’t stop sneezing being there. Shower slippers should be provided as the shower floor could do with a little more cleaning. The finger foods during happy hour and afternoon tea were amazingly delicious but the breakfast food that requires going back to the drawing board. Huge disappointment, so much for being the most important meal of the day. I ordered eggs and pancakes off the menu and the scrambled eggs were very tasteless, it didn’t even taste like eggs. I think there was way too much watery milk in there, and the pancakes were literally two pan sized raspberry cakes. Nothing close to the texture or consistency of an actual pancake. And it was served with honey, where is the maple syrup or pancake syrup? The only good thing at breakfast for me was the latte and cappuccino. And that welcome fruit platter, that needs to be worked upon, hardly a platter for starters and put more thought into the fruit because you guys had better fruits at the tea time and happy hour. Overall, for the price of one night, more attention to detail is needed. Also this whole pre-authorised thing is stupid. It comes like you have to first fork out over 5600 plus just for your night stay. I have stayed at the J hotel and they don’t require this nonsense, if you need a higher deposit just say so. The WiFi sucks and no matter how you turn the taps the water is hot. Turn it to cold it is hot, turn it to hot it is boiling hot. So, the water temperature goes from hot to hottest, not sure why that was the case in our room. Anyways, on the plus side, the bed was comfy, the river view is beautiful and the few staff members I came across were very friendly and just about everyone spoke some level of English, which to me is a must when it’s an international hotel.
