This hotel is a bit old-fashioned but generally well-maintained. Many people take photos of a Japanese-style gate, but that's actually not part of the hotel; it belongs to a private residence next door. There were a lot of tour groups staying here. The dinner buffet was decent. Most of the front desk staff are from Southeast Asia and speak good English.

Stepping off the bus at Lake Yamanaka, I immediately spotted this hotel perched on the hilltop – the views of Mount Fuji are absolutely unbeatable! Plus, their hot spring is a semi-open-air style, so you can soak while enjoying that incredible Fuji scenery.

・I think it would be better if they were a little more welcoming and didn't get hung up on appearances. ・The hot water kettle has a Japanese setting, so a foreign tourist who was having trouble using it spoke to me in English and explained how to use it. ・The parking lot should be made a little easier to understand and use. ・I'm glad that my family liked the Japanese-style room, and my child said, ”I want to go to the shrine room again.”

I was incredibly lucky to see a very clear Mount Fuji. Pictures 2 and 3 were both taken from the room's balcony. As other guests have mentioned, the hotel breakfast is very, very, very mediocre. Not only is the selection limited, but there wasn't a single tasty dish. The coffee was absolutely awful; I haven't had coffee this bad in a long time. Furthermore, on the first night, I was woken up by the fire alarm around 1 AM. I threw on a jacket over my pajamas and rushed out. On the way down the stairs, I saw many other guests running downstairs with their suitcases. When we got downstairs, the hotel staff said there was no fire, and it was a false alarm. This significantly impacted my experience, and the hotel didn't offer any explanation the next day either.

The hotel offers a shuttle service, with pick-ups in the afternoon and drop-offs until around 10 PM. They also provide transportation to Oishi Park; just contact the front desk in advance. This time, I booked a Japanese family room, which was quite spacious with a separate wet and dry area. The beds were already made when I entered. From the room, I could see Mount Fuji in the distance – it was absolutely beautiful to wake up and do my makeup at the table while admiring the view. Both breakfast and dinner were set menus, which was nice. The hotel service was excellent, and there was a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, so language was not an issue at all.

Excellent value for money! You can see Mount Fuji directly from the room just by opening the curtains. The restaurant is a bit mediocre; it tends to get chaotic because they cater to many tour groups. The nearest Japanese restaurant closes early, so you'll have to go near Kawaguchiko Station for dinner.

The hotel is clean and has a free hot spring onsen. The hotel is quite far from the station, but it’s worth it because Mount Fuji is right behind it—huge and absolutely beautiful 😭. It’s also close to a large Daiso. Very satisfying / I’m very satisfied.♥️♥️♥️

Highly recommended. Clean facilities with two public onsens and an amazing few of Mt. Fuji. If you do not end up with a mountain view room do not be too concerned- there is an observation deck up stairs. Private onsens are available for rental. Great service and a relaxing environment, if you find yourself in the area I suggest a 2 night stay at minimum- I had only booked one night and it felt insufficient to fully immerse oneself in the relaxing atmosphere.

We arrived quite late that day, and the staff at the front desk spoke Chinese. I forget why, but they specially upgraded our room and had already turned on the heating for us. The whole guesthouse was very spacious, and perhaps because it was a weekday, the public bath was practically empty – which was amazing! I absolutely love these old-fashioned Japanese tatami rooms. Although it's a bit remote and you can't see Mount Fuji, being comfortable is the most important thing!

KKanoksri K.The room is a comfortable size and offers a lovely view of Mount Fuji from the corner. It is clean and well equipped, with individual air-conditioning in the room. All the staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The hotel also has onsen facilities, including separate male and female as well as private onsen. Parking is available, located a short distance from the hotel.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, just a short walk to Lake Kawaguchiko. We chose a room with windows, and the hotel gave us a corner room, so the front window offered a perfect view of Lake Kawaguchiko, and the side window overlooked Mount Fuji. The hotel also has free hot spring baths, which was a nice bonus. We also booked breakfast and dinner, and they were quite good!

GGuest UserStaying at Ubuya was, without a doubt, the most amazing experience of my entire trip to Japan. Five stars, absolutely! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First and foremost, the room's view was breathtaking – directly facing Mount Fuji! Waking up and drawing the curtains to see the complete reflection of Mount Fuji on Lake Kawaguchiko was truly unreal; it was an utterly dreamlike experience. The hotel itself embodies a high-end Japanese onsen ryokan style. The environment is incredibly quiet, elegant, and full of traditional charm. Both the public areas and the rooms are impeccably clean and refined, with every detail exuding a sense of luxury. You feel completely relaxed the moment you step in. The onsen experience was another highlight. Soaking in the hot springs while gazing at Mount Fuji was incredibly therapeutic, healing both body and mind. It's an experience truly difficult to describe in words; you simply have to try it for yourself. The dining was also outstanding. Dinner was an exquisite Japanese kaiseki meal; not only was the presentation beautiful, but the flavors were also superb. Each dish was like a work of art. Breakfast was equally rich and healthy, starting the day off on a wonderful note. And the service was impeccable. The staff were professional and friendly, taking care of every little detail from check-in to check-out. They truly showcased authentic Japanese hospitality. Overall, Ubuya is more than just a hotel; it's an ultimate travel experience. If you're visiting Mount Fuji/Lake Kawaguchiko, it's definitely worth staying here at least once – you absolutely won't regret it!

GGuest UserIt was a perfect stay at Bessho Sasa my family and I really appreciated the superb service the staff provided my family (I travelled with my 88-year old mum so we had quite a lot of needs) with. I had left some items in the room and they promptly had it couriered to me in Tokyo. The dinners each night were very well prepared, each day was fun-filled with so many activities. The Taiko show was done so professionally I was surprised that the drummers were all staff of the resort!! I would love to re-visit the resort again some day.

SS. MeFirst time stay . Thought it come with the private outdoor bath but realize the official website and 3rd party booking us different ,so slightly get disappointed. Overall stay is good with shuttle bus to pick up during arrival and checkout but do take note upon requesting it booking only. The lobby will have snacks and welcome drink which allow u free to take. Room is spacious and clean. The dinner was great who prefer simple and varieties japanese food. The location so far is good is about 15-20min walking distance to kawaguchiko station

AAnonymous UserExtremely satisfied with this hotel, it exceeded my expectations! **Facilities:** I saw some guests mention the hotel being old, but actually, the facilities are excellent. Besides the distinctive tatami rooms and rooms facing Mount Fuji, there's also the hotel's special hot spring. The outdoor bath has such a great vibe, and it's real hot spring water – my skin felt so smooth afterwards. **Environment:** There are absolutely no issues with the hotel's environment, cleanliness, or rooms; it meets a four-star-plus standard. You can see a full view of Mount Fuji within a 3-minute walk from the hotel, with both sunrise and sunset clearly visible. **Dining:** The hotel's breakfast isn't particularly varied; I wouldn't recommend paying extra for it. Dinner, however, is highly recommended. It offers a good variety of Japanese specialties, and many people think it's much better than eating out. Some reviews recommend the Wheat restaurant in the hotel courtyard or the restaurant across the street, but the cost-effectiveness might not live up to expectations, and the actual standard could be quite different. **Service:** I didn't give five stars for service. The hotel's front desk offers Chinese service, and the Chinese staff are especially friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with no communication barriers. However, I was very dissatisfied with the restaurant staff, who I believe were Indian. Breakfast ends at 9:30 AM, and we thought we just needed to have our food by 9:30 AM and wouldn't get more. Instead, the server rudely told us to ”Go Out!” in an impolite manner while we were still eating our paid breakfast. These four stars are solely for the excellent front desk service. **Additional Notes:** If you have high standards for a hotel, want a hot spring experience, and wish to be close to Mount Fuji, this is an excellent choice. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Fuji-Q Highland and a few minutes from Kawaguchiko Bus Terminal, which is very convenient for returning to Tokyo or other places. The front desk service is fantastic; a big thank you to the Chinese lady at the front desk.
