This is a comfortable hotel situated at the bottom of the hill on which the medieval town of Vézelay is perched. Apart from the ramparts walk, everything in the town is uphill and must be accessed by foot, so be advised if you have difficulty walking. (There is handicapped access to the Basilique Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, so I suppose there must be some allowance for vehicular access.) Our room faced the Place Champ du Foire, which is quite active during the day with market stalls, tourists and pilgrims beginning their walk to Santiago de Compostela. It quietens down at night, but the D951 is immediately in front of the hotel, so be prepared for the noise of lorries passing by. The room was comfortable, we liked the king-size bed, which had a very good mattress. The bathroom was well-appointed but a bit of a squeeze for two people, unless one was in the shower. There were some period pieces of furniture which frankly had seen better days. The wardrobe had only hanging space for very short items, which was a drawback. Breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of items. As there is not much competition, the hotel is on the expensive side—but it was a special birthday visit for us. The staff are friendly and helpful—if you speak French (which we do). There is a very good chef at the hotel restaurant so I would recommend at least one dinner in-house. There is a bar and a terrace for a relaxing drink. All in all, a good place to stay

A establishment that was certainly very beautiful at a time with a beautiful park in the city centre and that would now require a little bit of nine, in the rooms the furniture is out and the condensation of very noisy air conditioning is discharged or in a empty bottle or the neighbouring room in our bathroom by a pipe along the wall of the bathroom. The service and cleanliness are perfect, as well as the quality of breakfast, except that there may be fresh rises rather than freezing. Overall the stay has been well-successful, the price is correct, which makes the old side of the facilities pass.

Wir hatten ein recht großzügiges Comfort-Zimmer, das inklusive Frühstück EUR 105 gekostet hat. Das Hotel war am Stadtrand gut zu finden, zu Fuß sind es ins Stadtzemtrum 15-20 Minuten. Der hoteleigene Parkplatz war auch ein angenehmes Extra, ohne Berechnung. Das Bett war recht groß, allerdings waren die Kopfkissen etwas zu fest, ansonsten war es nachts ruhig. Die große begehbare Dusche erwies sich am Morgen als sehr gut (Zimmer 31), und das Frühstück bot eine gute Auswahl, insbesondere sehr leckeres knuspriges Baguette, Eier und Wurst und Käse, aber auch Süßes und frische Croissants. Bei schönerem Wetter ist das Schwimmbad im Garten durchaus attraktiv. Insgesamt ein einfaches, aber angenehmes Hotel in einer attraktiven kleinen Stadt, ideal für einen Stopover, auch wenn man Chablis und die umliegenden kleinen Weinbaugebiete besuchen will.
