Residence Inn Breckenridge

Overall, I stayed one night here on Bonvoy points and would stay here again. I read complaints about lack of housekeeping and I saw signs posted and a note in the welcome letter that tells you housekeeping has to be requested and arranged. The location is pretty convenient to Main Street and to Breckenridge resort. Easily walkable to both. I was in a studio king that was very spacious. There was a full kitchen but I only made use of the refrigerator. Having real cutlery available was convenient. I noticed the high ceilings and thought it was a nice touch. The hotel has both indoor (limited) and outdoor parking. Unfortunately the parking is now $20 per night. It could be worse. The hotel also offers a shuttle to the resort, making a few stops including the gondola. This is nice even though the Quicksilver lift is walkable of you don't want to wait for the shuttle (right across the street.) The hotel also has a large room for skis and snowboard storage. This helps keep the hotel room uncluttered with gear. The hotel lobby is also spacious for lounging around in. The free breakfast is also served there. This included a waffle and pancake maker. I appreciated the sealed boiled eggs, which I snacked on during ski breaks (yes I'm a little weird!) The onsight market is convenient if you want to grab water or snacks without leaving the hotel. I did not use the outdoor pool and hot tub during my stay but saw it from the parking lot. I found the Residence Inn has everything you need and comparable to the nearby vacation club properties I've stayed at but at a slightly lesser scale. I would stay here again.

Wow.... what a bummer of an experience. Where to begin with what went wrong!?!? This is the 4th year we have stayed at the Village. We have ALWAYS loved it and have been very happy there. This year was we were NOT happy. 1) Upon getting my confirmation email shortly before our stay, I called in to see if we could request a Premier Room (our reserved room type) with a bunk bed set up like we had had our first year there. The gentleman said I had to request it when we arrived on site to check in. No problem. That's what I planned to do then, per his suggestion. 2) Upon arriving, there was a HUGE line. I waited about 20+ minutes, behind 6 other groups to check in, with another 4 groups behind me. When it was my turn, I explained our desire to the front desk person, who promptly told me I needed to have called in beforehand and that my room was already assigned. Feeling the pressure of the people behind me, I continued to ask for what I was told to ask for upon check-in. She kept telling me the same thing until I asked for a manager. The manager NEVER came out of the back room, which I felt was tacky and unprofessional. The front desk person came back and had switched us to the bunk room. I kept verifying that this was a premier room still but with bunk beds. She said yes. The reason for the bunk beds is that last year our second bedrooms were REALLY SMALL with two full beds in them. There is no room for bags or to even walk around. 3) Upon getting to the Chateau building, we loaded our bags into the elevator while also getting 3 kids in. I held the elevator with the button, but also had my hand in front of it while my son got his last bag and got in with our other two children. While walking through the door, the door started to close, alarms went off and he barely got through without the door CLOSING ON HIM!!!!!!! IT DID NOT STOP and almost crushed him in the door. What kind of elevator doesn't stop when something or SOMEONE is in the doorway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4) We then got to our floor and were getting out and it did it AGAIN, this time on my daughter. I screamed and pulled her through the door before it crushed her. I am NOT exaggerating. 5) After getting them in the room, our bags in the room, and waiting for my husband, I went to the front desk, only to have the manager (the same one that never came out of her office before when there was a HUGE line) belittle me about the incidentS. Incidents PLURAL. She kept smirking and telling me that they run the rooms and the HOA runs the elevator. What kind of person says something so stupid! Oh I'm sorry your child almost got crushed in the elevator, but that's not our responsibility. We only rent the rooms on the 4th floor but we don't provide you with a way to get there. The HOA does, so we wash our hands of the elevator... that's not our responsibility. Did she not realize how stupid and inconsiderate that sounded? I was PISSED. No doubt if my kids lost a limb or got cr

Marriott's Mountain Valley Lodge at Breckenridge

Starting with the positives, the front desk customer service was outstanding! Camilla, Elizabeth, Lauryn and Kyle were very nice and offered a lot of help when I was looking for a room with a good view of the mountains (we were given 3 rooms only the last one had a decent view). Our room, a 1 br villa, was large enough for 6 people with 2 pullout couches, and was huge for 2 people, which was fine by me. Facility was clean and safe, and has a great location, perfect for dining and shopping and hiking. What I wasn't impressed by was that it was difficult to get a room with a view of anything other than the buildings in front of us. The lower floors that we saw had terrible views (4th floor was pretty good but not fantastic), and I was disappointed by that. Also, if housekeeping staff would have come in once or twice during the week to remove trash/recycling that would have been nice. Of course, we could have called to request that, or take it out ourselves, but I'd appreciate not having to do that. This facility was rated ”5 star Elite” by Interval International, and really doesn't come close to that description. All in all, a good place stay if you know what to expect before you get there. Customer service rates a 5, rooms rate a 3.5 for me due to the views.
