Best Hotels in Cabanas de Tavira, Portugal

Hotel with excellent facilities. The perfect place to enjoy the good weather in the Algarve. Close to a fantastic beach. The package I chose was bed and breakfast. The only weak point was the quality of the products for breakfast. The juices are of very low quality, mini pastries almost non-existent and very bad waffles. The same is repeated at dinner. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and the buffet is very poor and without quality. I don't know if it's related to the all inclusive packages that most guests have, but I think it's a point to improve for customer satisfaction. We love it anyway, but without a doubt that if I return, I will eat outside the hotel.

This resort is located near Cabanas, a fishing village on the border of Ria Formosa Natural Reserve. It offers 2 pools, both a tennis and paddle tennis court, a bowling alley and massage services.The air-conditioned studios and apartments at the Pedras Da Rainha have a terrace or balcony, a kitchenette and a spacious living area.Pedras Da Rainha has a restaurant serving local and international dishes. There is also a supermarket and kiosk available on site.Guests can relax at the outdoor swimming pool, which is surrounded by a lush garden. The resort also has a games room with darts, a ping-pong table and a children’s playground.One of Algarve's top golf courses is situated just 1 km from the Pedras da Rainha hotel.

The pool area is the highlight of this hotel. There were plenty of sunbeds for the guests. There is a pool bar which opens if there is a full day of good weather. You must go to the bar, there is no poolside service. The gym and spa area were also good. I enjoyed a lovely massage. The hotel rooms are very compact but functional. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Shower was good and there was always hot water. The air con was great. The fridge works well if you leave the cabinet door open. There is tea and coffee (but not restocked) but no milk. You must put sign on the door if you want the cleaners to do your room. There is no iron in the room and none available on request. You have to pay for an ironing service. The sink drained very slowly in the bathroom. The hallway carpets had some questionable staining - I really cannot understand how they haven’t replaced sections of it. We had a room overlooking the carpark which is not the best view but does get nice evening sunshine on the balcony. The WiFi was good. The breakfast was only ok. I would have expected better. There was nice fresh fruit and fresh croissants each morning but the yogurt, orange juice and coffee were terrible quality. I wouldn’t touch the hot food. If you come down near the end of service, forget about it, staff seem to have given up, I even had to set my own table one morning as none of the tables had been cleared. The piano player at breakfast was very good. They give out flowers to the lady guests some days. These things are nice touches but I imagine guests would rather better food instead. We had lunch in the hotel twice. Pizza was ok. Tried the calamari another day but it could have been deep fried anything to be honest and fries tasted like they’d been sitting around. Rooftop bar is nice with lovely views and they make good cocktails. Bar staff were nice. We only in the rooftop restaurant once and it was disappointing.

Hotel location is very good looking, next to the traffic lights on the main street, very large hotel, free parking, we booked temporarily, want to live at the border on the last night in Portugal, the town is very clean, the hotel is 5 minutes walk to the town The largest commercial street, eating and drinking is very convenient, the hotel front desk is also very warm

Second time I’ve visited this hotel. It was clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Location is excellent with the beach a 10 min walk and the square a 5 min walk. There is also a spar 2 minutes away and lots of restaurants near by. On both occasions my room was spotless and there was a safe, free of charge which i thought was really good. The pool area was small but there were ample beds available due to the time of year. Sometimes I even had it to myself. Also very clean. Breakfast was simple but nice. A variety of cereals, breads, cheeses, meats and fruit. Then a small selection of hot food. (Eggs, beans and sausages). It’s definitely my go to hotel when I’m in Monte Gordo.

After a day or so staying here, you pickup a theme that this place just needs a big chunk of investment. The villas are rather run down and not matching the decor on the TUI site. Lots of little bodge repairs with exposed mains, lights fittings hanging on by 1 of the 4 screws, missing cupboard doors etc. some of the pictures are also of an unrelated restaurant business down by the beach. The beds themselves are terribly soft and uncomfortable and the “sofa” is just a single bed with two pillows. Unlike other guests, we were lucky enough to get aircon but only on one floor. Would have been unbearably hot for anyone without this! While the cooker was obviously a recent replacement, the kitchen utensils aren’t complete. No bowls, no coffee jug, no kettle, no tumblers or wine glasses, corkscrew not the right size to extract a cork etc. the list goes on. If you’re looking to have breakfast or an evening meal in the villa, you’ll struggle. The pool itself is a lovely temperature but very cloudy and remained so all week. Looks like the filter isn’t up to the job at hand and needs upgrading. While there’s a lovely area for lounging round the pool, there’s a chronic shortage of seats and parasols. You really need to be at the pool before 9:30 to reserve a parasol or you won’t get one all day. There’s easily enough space to triple the number of loungers and parasols and each day you see a steady stream of disappointed faces looking for shade. Some other reviewers have mentioned paying for loungers. This is no longer the case but you need someone to be poolside when they setup and unlock the loungers. The Nora eating area serves basic food but be prepared for a really long wait for service. The staff don’t seem to scan the room so you’re best off walking up to the bar to order and pay. Overall, I think we were lucky with the room and looking at other reviews and pics, I can understand guests frustration and it could have been worse. As a family, we enjoyed the week and learned how to work around the issues but it’s not somewhere I’d recommend and won’t be coming back. We’ve been to similarly priced accommodation in the Algarve on previous years so it’s definitely possible to get better value for your money

Stayed here for 7 days last week. First time to the East Algarve Hotel was fantastic Fast wifi all over hotel and pool area Great position 100 mtrs from beach with long boardwalk Beach is superb and you can walk for miles each way. Close to a selection of bars, restaurants and supermarkets Room - large,clean,comfortable beds,large bathroom with great shower,free safe,free aircon. Cleaned every day. Staff - all helpful - special mention for Victor and Nicole in Bar Food - Breakfast - great selection of hot and cold food - Selection of eggs,bacon,sausage,beans,tomatoes,cereals,fruit,cold meats,cheeses,tea,coffee,orange juice plus good selection of bread/rolls plus fast toaster Dinner - soup,large salad selection,choice of 2/3 fish dishes and 2 meat dishes,potatoes,vegetables,rice,pasta,3/4 cakes,ice cream,fruit Bar - resonable prices, good selection of spirit brands,draught lager,bottled beer/cider,wine - Happy hour 17.00 to 18.00 half price - 2 large gordons gin and schweppes tonic 6.50 - cheaper than Wetherspoons Pool area - always clean with plenty of new sunbeds - pool looked nice but a bit too cold to go in Didn't try the gym Would recomend this hotel to anyone who wants a ”chilled out” break 90% of clients over 50 with mixture of British/Dutch/German/Scandanavians The only fault I could find was that the hairdryers were not very powerful - take your own and a kettle if you want a drink in your room Hope to stay here again next year

The hotel was nicely decorated and designed. The pool area was very clean and a nice environment. The rooms were also clean, with comfortable beds and a good shower. Unfortunately when we arrived one of the rooms had an unpleasant smell. When we mentioned this at reception they said housekeeping would look into it, but nothing was mentioned further. We then found that the room door was faulty, and was not locking properly. When we returned from meals in the evening, we found the door ajar, despite being shut when we left. We mentioned this at reception, and again they said they'd look into it, but nothing was done, despite mentioning that we had valuables in the room. The obvious course of action would have been to fix it immediately, or move us to a different room, but neither was offered, which feels like quite a major issue. The offering at breakfast was good, and there were a few members of staff that were especially helpful and friendly in the Orangea restaurant. The food here was ok, but would recommend ordering simpler dishes. On the whole, our stay was enjoyable, but issues were not dealt with as they should have been, which would make us rethink returning.

I had a nice stay at the hotel. I am not a very needy and demanding customer. I think it was good value for money. The staff were helpful and friendly. My room was big enough. Everything worked as expected. I could open the window which was nice tp let in some air. The food was nice but not unforgettable.

The location is excellent, combines the silence of the village with the beach at 500 metres. The apartment is in line with the pictures and the sizes very pleasant. The less positive part is the lack of light, especially in the kitchen where it becomes ridiculous, having to put the headlamp lamp to see what I did in the kitchen. Another situation is the little palm (cutting equipment), the packs of each apartment should be reviewed.
