"We stayed for 1 night. The location is great, right in Tahrir square, in the center of Cairo, and opposite the Egyptian museum. The rooms are large enough and surprisingly clean. Serving Egyptian local Felafer and Beans for breakfast. The employees are caring and friendly. If I were to come again, I would definitely stay here."
"Stayed for two nights. The pain point is that there is no elevator. I have to drag my luggage up to the 4th floor. The weak girl discouraged me from going. The building looks shabby and scary from the outside, but the decoration inside the hotel is OK. The location is good and the price is low. Overall it is not bad"
"I booked two single beds on Ctrip, but was given a double bed. Later the hotel stressed that there were no single beds, so I had to share a room with my friends. I stayed in a 4-person room, and breakfast was provided. The room was on a high floor, and I had to climb one flight of stairs. The room was relatively large with a balcony, but there was only one bathroom, so we took turns to wash, and the water flow was not strong. The bedding was pilling, and the air conditioning did not heat well. The view was wide, and there was a school downstairs. It was also close to my embassy. The breakfast had a rich variety of juice, coffee, yogurt, milk, bread, and soup. The service staff was polite and responded quickly to the luggage. They also cared about the next stop. I hope Ctrip can do a good job of docking next time."

"Overall good spacious rooms, good breakfast spread and a nice pool area and we would have had a great trip only if it had thinner pillows. Unfortunately the hotel only had one type of pillows and they were quite thick and difficult for us to sleep comfortably and that spoilt a bit of the experience. That's the reason to cut one star from amenities. We had a great city view room and picture shows the view with the cairo tower ."
"The hotel is located next to the Nile River and you can see the Nile River, but because it is along the main traffic road, it is very noisy and difficult to sleep. There is an underground parking garage, and the waiter will park the car for 250 Egyptian pounds per night. The welcoming guy at the door and the designated driver are great, warm and friendly and helpful. The room is too small. Excluding the bathroom and wardrobe, the actual usable area is about 18 square meters. If two people live in it, it is very crowded. It is not as beautiful as the pictures on the Internet (the pictures on the Internet should be due to the shooting skills). The breakfast is too bad. Except for the ham sausage, there is almost no good food. It may be rated as five diamonds because there is a swimming pool and a gym, but it is actually far from five diamonds. It feels like a three-diamond level, not recommended."
"For the price we paid for three rooms at over US$100 a night and considering it was a Hilton we were extremely disappointed in the rooms. The lobby looked promising, and the staff was very nice. However, the rooms looked borderline ******* and did not feel super clean. There were weird hallways and random rooms that we had to walk into before going into the hotel room itself well the staff was amazing. I cannot say that it is Hilton standard or quality and was extremely disappointed. Considering Hilton is a worldwide brand. "
"Excellent facilities in the rooms. Notably, breakfast is also unparalleled in its variety and quality.
The bellboys are very attentive and look out for their guests. Especially I would like to express my sincere thanks to the last bellboy I came in contact with.
If I had to mention a disappointment, it would be a very small portion, but there were some staff members in the restaurant that showed glimpses of inexperience.
When I visited the restaurant in the evening for a la carte, I was repeatedly asked if I was finished. Since this restaurant does not have a table system where the staff is in charge of the table, it is still a bit of a turn-off to be asked by more than one person.
I also happened to see them in situations where they carelessly bumped or dropped dishes and broke them."
"Certainly! Here's the updated review:

Staying at the Marriott in Cairo was an exceptional experience. The location is unbeatable, situated right next to the Nile River, offering stunning views and a serene atmosphere. The swimming pool is great, providing a perfect spot to relax and unwind. The gym is fantastic, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to cater to all fitness needs.
The customer service is top-notch, with the reception staff being particularly super helpful, ensuring that all our needs were met promptly and efficiently. Our two kids really enjoyed the stay as well, which made our visit even more memorable. Simply the best in Cairo—highly recommend and we will definitely visit again!

"Novotel Cairo Airport offered a convenient, if brief, respite. Proximity to the terminals is its strongest asset, ideal for layovers. The rooms were clean and functional, though somewhat dated. Service was efficient, though not overly warm. The breakfast buffet provided a decent selection. Noise insulation was adequate, minimizing airport disturbances. Overall, it's a practical choice for transit passengers prioritizing ease of access over luxury. A solid, reliable option for a short stay, fulfilling its purpose as an airport hotel."

Great
GGuest UserI have traveled to several countries and stayed in many five-star hotels. In a poor country like Cairo, I am really surprised that there is such a high-end and cost-effective hotel. This hotel has cured me of all the travel fatigue for half a month and made my children happy. .I am happy. I feel like I am a princess 👸 being pampered. And I am really high-end and classy. The ceiling of Egypt.
SSuhaibWael and Abdo made trip amazing. Concierge team 10/10. Hugely let down by Ahmed GM of front of house who was incredibly rude when asked about Marriott bonvoy benefits on laundry and spa. Started shouting and even swore at me in Arabic to his collegague. He thought I didn’t understand Arabic but I understand both Arabic and Russian. All good though his behaviour will be reported to further boards in the Marriott Group.
Kind Regards
Adam
DDean MauriceThis hostel has a good location and I would say that it is pretty walkable in the early morning and very late at night but the walking infrastructure is not the best in Cairo. Mid day the traffic makes it very tricky to walk around even though there are many good restaurants and attractions nearby.
Finding it is a little tricky but it is down an alley that doesn't allow cards and it is located on floor 2 of an older building. There is an elevator but all doors and gates need to be closed in order for it to work and we found guests at the hostel weren't good at closing after themselves. The staff are very kind and welcoming but we got a bit hung up on the payment. We booked on Trip with the ”Pay at the Hotel” option for 3100 Egyptian pounds for three nights in a private room but they were asking for 3600 when we were checking in. After a little back and forth they let us check in and gave us the keys so we could rest and wait for the manager's answer. The manager said no to our booked rate, we were told we booked on ******* and we now had to pay 3900 Egyptian pounds. I'm at a loss of words for this discrepancy between Trip and the hostel but there weren't better deals in the area we wanted to stay and we very reluctantly paid.
The room was just a place to sleep with a box to the side where our shower and toilet were. The box had no ceiling or ventilation so there were smells throughout the room from the drains. The beds were comfy but were not completely clean when we arrived - there was hairs in the bed sheets. The room cleanliness overall could have been better. The area is quiet at night and we got a good night's rest to spend our days exploring Cairo.
The breakfast was ok but there wasn't much room to eat in the common areas during our stay so we asked for breakfast in our room during our stay. We had a simple breakfast with a fried egg, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, banana, tea/coffee and Arabic bread. It is enough to get you through until lunch and is served starting at 8 pm. There is a convenience store close by that offers fairly priced snacks and drinks which you might want to seek out because they do not provide water at this hostel.
We hope this property improves because it seems like it used to be really good and the location is good as well.
GGuest UserLovely smart hotel. Several restaurants. Massage and gym. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel nice sbd roomy. Rooms spacious. Would stay there again but if you want to be in the town centre with many shops you need to stay closer to city centre as this, was, about 30 minutes from airport. It didn't matter because everything is a short cheap taxi fare away. Also it's next to a military camp where you can see and hear the soldiers marching from your balcony. If the bugle noise bothers, you at 6am then maybe not for you. Also, but not related to the hotel you'll be woken up at 4am by the, wailing from the mosques but you can't really get away from that can you. The hotel I understand is, owned by the military and so you'll often see soldiers stay there. They weren't any trouble. In fact it made you feel safe.
BBeylishI stayed with my family at this hotel, but they left a little earlier than me.
My friend wanted to stay there so that we can go out late , come back to the hotel and he would be able to take me to that airport the next day but the hotel rejected him because he is from Ciaro.
I tried to apply for a refund but was rejected. I would like to withdraw the previous review, which was written under peer pressure on the( 2nd day) from one of the hotel staff members named : Hindu. The hotel was fine, but some things weren't for 1) discrimination against guests. 2) denying a refund 3) things went missing from the hotel room 4) the shower wasn't always working well 5) the carpet was very damp when I first arrived 5) my other family members had problems with the restroom, dirty water was coming up 6) my aircon wasnt working, i asked several times for help but to no avail 7) the keys were moved from one reception to another without informing guests. 8) pushy staff members are always asking for us to write reviews ( not all the staff members were like this. They were kind, helpful and present) 9) the hotel offers airport transfer but it's really expensive. Uber is much cheaper.
* I wouldn't have written, I would've let it just go but but since the hotel refuses to give a refund, I think it's only fair that other know what my REAL experience was like .
AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights.
Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building.
* Location & Transportation
Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum.
And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price.
In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes
Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones.
Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it.
* Building and room conditions
Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room.
It is quite convenient a washstand in each room.
However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler.
It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel.
* Cleanness & Safety
Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this.
* Services
There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water.
Wifi is too weak to use the internet.
Other services like laundry are satisfied.
* Others
During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally.
In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better.
And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable.
Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.
GGuest UserThe room is next to the road, very noisy, almost no sound insulation. Security check at the door, other no problem, no food nearby, overall it's ok, nothing special, ok.
AALDOSSARYLoved this hotel! The prime location made exploring easy, the staff were always welcoming and helpful, and the rooms were impeccably clean. A special thanks to Mr. Samh Johar making our stay extra special. A perfect spot for any traveler!”
