Find the Cheap Auckland Hotels

The hostel is nice, though costly and a little decentralized. The common areas are very nice, but the fact that it has no bathrooms for both sexes on every floor is a real discomfort. Each floor has a kitchen, but they are microscopic and it is really hard to use it ....in addition in reception, except for Kase that is super efficient, others are a little made and put there, little wake and little help .... can improve!

Myself and 5 other friends had booked into the villa for 2 nights on arrival we were told we had no booking even though we had a booking number. Was told longterm tenants now stay there, we had traveled 6 hours away from our home and told them we had booked and needed somewhere to stay. Eventually they made the villa available but on arrival the villa did not look like the same place on their website, it was covered in dust and dirt the balcony was disgusting I wouldn't let my dog out there, the inside was even worse. The kitchen was disgusting and dark, wine glasses had mould on them, the house smelt musty and dirty. Microwave was on the floor, stove was disgusting. Dish brush was so dirty I wouldn't even use it on a toilet. Bedrooms were dark, curtains had mould on them. One rooms window was covered with cardboard. The shower was covered in mould also. When spoke to them about this we were told repeatedly they have nothing else for us, they took our money before taking us to villa so we felt stuck now. We asked for more towels for there was not enough for us all. They eventually brought these around in a black rubbish bag along with a bottle of dishwasher liquid and toilet spray. Staying here was devastating for us all, it ruined our holiday. We felt we weren't heard by the owners. This villa was not up to New Zealand consumers rights, it was unsafe, no smoke alarms, no booklet explaining fire evacuation. Wi-Fi passwords didn't work. We absolutely felt ripped off.

The hotel is in a heritage building in the most dominant location at Devonport harbor and ferry pier. The rooms facing the sea are OK, the rooms to the backyard are small without view. The biggerst advantage of this hotel is its location to have the ferry right in front of the hotel to reach the center of Auckland in 12 minutes.

The hotel is conveniently located one step away from the sailing pier, which is very convenient. Sightseeing, eating and drinking nearby, the park is also within easy reach. The hotel is relatively new, the facilities are complete, but the sound insulation effect is really not good.

The hotel is in a great location central location but the hot plate doesn’t work and even if it did there is no cookware or bowls ect only a cup and a spoon in the room. The wifi is really spotty too and kept constantly dropping out. The room was very clean though.

Great location and service. Stayed in the M Suite which was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here again soon.

From the beautiful lobby, minimalist architecture, helpful and friendly staff, 5 star room - the quality and experience is second to none. Highly recommend this place if you are staying in Auckland. Its in the heart of Wynyard Quarter around great restaurants, the ASB Theatre and vibrant vibes.

Stayed at Lylo for 3-4 days and it’s probably the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. You check in on a device however there is a receptionist near in case you need anything. The design is amazing as well as the communal rooms/work spaces, it’s very new and renovated at the moment so it looks really great. There’s free wifi, a communal kitchen and bathrooms on each floor. There’s also a restaurant and bar, you get a card for one free drink too! I stayed in a private room and shared bathroom, the floor was super clean and quiet. The room itself was cute and tidy, we were missing a few things such as a rubbish bin (didn’t know the rooms came with one until we saw someone else on our floor with one). I think it would’ve of been nice if the room came with a television or a safe, however the room was great for the price so can’t complain too much :) location is central and easy access to everything within the city.
