Since we are almost never using the typical hotel services, a apartment with kitchenette is better suited to us. And the Residence home in Belval is the best we have booked. The equipment is complete, including with the main kitchen tools and dishes, so you don't have to bring anything. The bathroom is quite large with a flat shower, which we personally love. A large window can be opened right, although air conditioning is available, it is also very pleasant. The staff is always friendly and attentive, you feel welcome and that is still 24/7! Clear recommendation, we will live here again at the next visit and look forward to it.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend and/or stay again. In detail: - My partner and I stayed here during summer holidays. It was a mixed business & leisure trip. I worked in the lobby/restaurant for 2 days and Wifi was great throughout the entire hotel (no glitched, no loss of connection during conference calls). - All staff was very friendly and helpful. From the people at the reception, to the cleaning personal, as soon as we had a question, they helped us. - The rooms are also very modern, clean and with quiet AC(airco). I would even suggest to the hotel that it’s not needed to renew all towels every day. I’m ok with using my towel for a few days. ;) - Breakfast is ok. It’s all there (cheeses, meats, fruit, yoghurt, cornflakes, coffee, tea, milk, juices, eggs, toast & croissants.). It is fresh and tasty, but don’t expect a lavish brunch. I read some of the previous reviews and sometimes people need to manage their own expectations. ;) As it is a new hotel, some suggestions I would like to bring to hotel management: - I was missing a tiny fridge in the room. Luckily the staff stored our food in the kitchen, but I felt a bit guilty asking for it every morning. - I would invest in an AC in the breakfast room. It’s a very nice space, filled with light, but that also means that during summer it gets quite warm. Nonetheless: definitely worth a stay when visiting Luxembourg! Extra tip! Go visit the brewery next door + tasting and ask for Eric. Eric was our tour guide. He’s very knowledgeable and like to share his stories, which for us made sure we had a great time! Also the beer is good (bonus, haha). :P

The room I was initially allocated was very very tiny. As I had booked for 6 nights, I kindly asked the receptionist to re-allocate me in another room. I had booked a room with double bed and the room I was given had only one twin bed and still there was no space to move. The receptionist was very helpful and changed the room in a double bed room as booked, immediately when I shared my concern. I could not make the change in the first night because there was not any receptionist on Sunday after 8 pm. We were given the keys by a person living at the building in front of the hotel. The rooms were generally clean. Two of my colleagues in the same trip were allocated spacious rooms. There was a bottle of water everyday, which was very helpful given that the shops closed by 6pm in Esch. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast very good.

It is a good hotel: rooms are spacious and clean. Rooms have the necessary comfort if you travel on business: there is a kitchenette, which may be very helpful. The wi-fi is very good and there are enough conditions if you need to work. The staff is kind and helpful. If you drive there, then the hotel has a parking area. If you travel by public transport, then you have to walk either a few hundred metres to more than a km. depending on whether you travel by bus or by train. Also, it is not so easy to get a bus straight to the centre, although it is only 2 km far away- Currently breakfast is served at the brasserie (arbre du pain), next door. The offer is so broad there, mainly with Portuguese pastry, that there is no need to purchase the breakfast at the hotel. Opposite the hotel there is a cosy Italian restaurant - Dimmi si.

I stayed at the Ibis Belval for the Capital of Culture event for 10 days. I want to thank the staff at the hotel for being attentive, friendly and polite. This was especially invaluable as Belval is not big on dietary options for people that are dairy and wheat intolerant. The staff ordered different milks and bread for me and there was always enough. I had a lot of issues with food in Belval but Arnaud and the team made sure I had a good breakfast, which is so important when you are there for work. The young man on the night staff even filled up my hot water bottle for me before bed which was such a lovely gesture when I was exhausted after a day of working the event. My only gripe is that I was itchy during the whole stay at Belval and many of the others in my team also said they had red eyes or itchiness, we think maybe it was the detergent used for laundry, the rooms however were impeccably clean and the house keeping team was respectful and friendly. Good parking and easy to find with comfy beds and very clean. Room quite spacious. Very good breakfast selection, both hot and cold food. Would stay there again. Our only downer is - the coffee machine could taste better 6/10 on our rating - but out of the 6 places we stayed this holiday - only one place did a good coffee. Also, overnight we couldn't lock the door like we were used to - so we put a chair against it overnight.
