Hotels near Powder Hollow Park in Enfield

I was a little nervous about staying here after reading some of the reviews. The hotel is conveniently located right off Route 91. When I went to check in, I was told my room was not ready. I gave the desk clerk my phone number to let me know when room was ready. I did not receive a call but I returned about 2 hours later and my room was ready. I received a small bag with snacks and one bottle of water for being a Marriott Bonvoy member. The room was large with a king size bed, loveseat, and desk with a chair. There was a huge empty area in the room with a floor lamp that could have used a nice easy chair. The bathroom door was a barn door that did not close completely. The pool was a nice size with plenty of lounge chairs. The hotel seemed booked but the pool area was never crowded during our stay. The buffet breakfast was the usual items. I requested a list of area restaurants from the front desk. The listing was 2 pages long and the majority of the places were within a 5 mile radius of the hotel. I received my bill via email on the day I was leaving. I was charged the incorrect amount. I stopped at the front desk and the clerk stated the wrong rate was removed. She was able to correct bill immediately.

A great Red Roof location for fun and attractions! This was the second time I stayed here. I booked a king room with a refrigerator and a microwave and requested a first floor room. I was staying for 10 nights. The night employee is extremely rude. Her standard response to any question or concern you have is ”well, you can cancel.” When I arrived, she said there was only a second floor room. I stated I had requested a first floor. She asked if I had written that when I ordered my room. I said that I had, I had stayed many nights this year with Motel 6, and that I was staying 10 nights. She said it wasn't possible-never a suggestion that later in a day or two I could move. The key card had to recharged twice. I kept getting shocked by electricity when I turned off the light switches. The blanket had multiple cigarette burns in it. The heating/air conditioner unit broke the first night, and the TV never worked at all. The bathroom sink faucet sprayed water when used. The shower took a very long time to get hot water out of it. There was broken glass on the floor, which I cut my foot on. The noise every night was unbelievable. The outer door would not fully close-it only stayed closed because of the safety latch. Motel 6 doesn't even provide Kleenex! The towels are as thin as tissue paper, and the bath towels are barely bigger than a hand towel! There were punched holes in the walls and doors. The metal stair railings to the upper floor are extremely rusty and could almost break off in your hand. One lamp had a burnt out bulb in it. this place needs a major redo. Firing the rude employee and letting her know what customer service is would be a huge start!

Had an early morning flight, so family dropped me off the night before. Right off, I was treated well by the desk clerk (Shareena?), who was funny and warm. I was also treated well by the morning clerk and the driver to the airport (wish I knew their names!). The driver said a tip wasn't necessary (he was so humble), but I insisted. Being treated like I am special is so important, sometimes more important than the place itself. My king-sized bedroom was spacious and I had a view of lots of greenery from my window. I appreciated the low, wide shelf (as part of the TV/refrigerator/bureau) for laying my suitcase on. Most hotels do not have this in my experience (I go to at least 6 hotels per year). No more laying it on the floor, a flimsy luggage rack or on the shelf under the TV! I also liked the side table which could easily slide over the sofa so I could eat. The breakfast was what you would expect from these types of hotels (I stay at all types of Hilton properties as well as some of their competitors), which is fine. The dining area is spacious.

Very sad representation of sheraton. Got a room, got in. Unpacked. After some time went to heat some water for tea and the cold water leveler did not work. It was NOT attached to the whole faucet. That means its only scorching hot water for face and hand washing and nothing else. No tea no water. I called to the front desk. The young lady said ” oh yeah, its not broken you just have to wiggle it the right way”. I said sure hung up amd went to wiggle it some. After carefully playing with the cold water leveler bending down under the sink to try to see whats really up I decided thats not ok. I went back to calling front desk again. Nobody picked up. I called again. Finally a nice gentleman picks up. I explain the whole sotry again from the start he says he will send a maintanance man to check. 10-15 minutes passes, nobody comes. Im tired, hungry, dirty, cranky so is my travel buddy. I grab my keycard. I go downstairs. I meet that nice gentleman and explain the issue and ask for a new room. He gives me the new room card. I go up, start repacking my suitcases to move. Mid packing maintanance man shows up, suprised there is an issue. He grabs the leveler and says ” oh ok, its broken” no sh*t. We move to new room. Smells nasty, like somebody was smoking in it for the past week 24/7. I let it go. I turn the water on and the cold water was not cold it was at best luke warm...yes i had to drink it as there were no stores around so had to make do with what i had. The sheets were nasty, please take a look at the ”comforter/blanket” it will speak for itself. Sheraton aint the same.. pitty

Great stay!

We stayed here for 2 nights while in town for a Gymnastics competition for our kids. There was a snowstorm coming and we didn't want to worry about driving. The lobby is very inviting, clean and nicely decorated. Check-in was smooth. Our room was clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The walls seemed to be well insulated because we couldn't hear our neighbors at all. The pool/hot tub area, while pretty small, was still nice and fun. It did get crowded quick our second day so it could get a bit (covid) uncomfortable. The lobby/breakfast area was nice, the food was good and the coffee very good! That was a really nice feature given the snow storm, that we didn't have to venture out for a nice breakfast. Both continental and made to order. Our server the second day was awesome. We had been incorrectly charged the day before and though we only casually mentioned it to him, he talked to the manager and credited us back without asking. The only negative feedback was that the pool ran out of towels because the hotel was very busy. There were several events in the area so the staff was very busy. Also, there were no USB ports in the room for charging devices, only regular plugs. also not the most up to date smart TV. When I asked about this, one of the employees said that Hilton renovates every 20 years and they were just on the cusp, so they are due for some upgrades. One other thing, in consideration for it not being recently renovated, the rate per night was expensive for staying in Springfield. I think this was due to the large number of events going on in the area, but it was overpriced in my opinion. Overall though we were very happy.
