Family hotels in Beihai

It seems many people bring kids, so I'll write a review specifically for those traveling with elderly parents. First, the conclusion: if you're traveling with seniors, don't hesitate to choose Reef Hotel! When planning, my grandparents said they wanted to see the sea, and I was racking my brain because my grandpa gets out of breath after walking for 5 minutes and climbing three flights of stairs. All the trips I took during school involved a lot of rushing. So, when I saw how close this hotel was to the beach, almost like having a private beach, I booked the entire trip immediately. You could say I came to Weizhou Island just for this hotel. And indeed, even though the money flowed like water (nearly 2000 just for four people to get on and off the island, ugh!), it was truly worth it!!! The service is excellent, messages are replied to instantly, and they pretty much grant every request. The afternoon tea was delicious! There were a few minor misunderstandings during our stay, but solutions were quickly provided. If we wanted more fruit, they'd bring plenty. The breakfast selection is quite rich, especially the yogurt! Plus, the seafood prepared by the hotel is delicious! Both my elderly grandparents had a wonderful time, constantly checking the tide coming in and going out, then lying down to enjoy the sea breeze. It was heartbreaking when they told me they never thought they'd see the sea again or leave their hometown. From that moment, I vowed to take them across the length and breadth of China! In short, there are many high-end B&Bs on the island, but if you're bringing seniors, I truly recommend this one~~

Get this hotel!!! We were supposed to stay for a night and then decide what to do - we ended up staying 3 nights and were very sad to leave. Every so often when you travel your hotel experience significantly improved your holiday - this was one of those cases! First of all the basics, we were looking for a nice family friendly hotel walking distance from the beach - and this certainly fit that category. The rooms are fine, you could see the sea from the windows, comfortable beds, pretty clean, slippers, plenty of towels, wifi everywhere etc. There was also a small playground for small kids and hammocks (picture) etc which was cool, we also saw mahjong tables, but didn't have the time to play. The hotel is located near a fairly large field, filled with exotic birds, butterflies and crickets etc. There were also geckos everywhere (love them), but we didn't see any inside the room. There were some mosquitos outside on the terrace (don't love them), but the repellent took care of those and we didn't have any in our rooms. Felt like you were near nature, in a good way. The kids loved to play on the beach, it's great for sand castles (the hotel had buckets and shovels free of charge) and searching for crabs, fish, shells, sea snails etc... The moms loved it too, especially to walk around and explore during low tide. (the hotel also provided equipment to catch crabs and other sea creatures etc if you wanted to - they also had a service to cook them for you) We especially enjoyed playing under a nearby pier during low tide to avoid getting badly sunburned. The supermarket across the street sell dozens of single malt whiskys and beer from all over the world (they also have ice cream and other stuff) - and the dads recommend the roof terrace for that after the kids are asleep. (picture) If you know how to ride a scooter/ebike they rent them across the road too, and it's the best way to explore the island. The small roads (almost devoid of cars) were awesome to drive on, just remember to stay safe. I don't usually care much about breakfast, but the included breakfast was great! (picture) The kitchen staff was also super laid-back about the whole thing - this whole hotel radiated a very laid back tropical island feel that made you forget you were in China. However the reason I write this review is because of the owner. (last picture) (I'm not sure if he speaks English though, but I'm sure you'll manage) Super chill guy! Immediately after booking he contacted us to arrange the transport from the boat. He helped us buy tickets for the trip back. He was willing to come and pick us up at any time if we got lost on the island. He had great recommendations about basically everything, and whenever we made plans we were sure to ask for his advice. He was basically always reachable over wechat too. These are just some of the things that he didn't have to provide, but did (or offered): unlimited cold drinking water, ice, proper glasses, a coffee grinder, buckets, shovels, hats, umbrellas, sunscreen, aloe vera plants, flashlights, mosquito repellent etc etc and it feels like we only scratched the surface. It feels like whenever I asked him for something he always had a solution that exceeded my expectations. Great host! I've traveled to almost 100 countries and while this wasn't the fanciest hotel I've stayed in by any means, this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've ever had. If anyone I know plans to visit this island I will for sure recommend this place.

Choosing this hotel was the best decision of our Beihai trip! We specifically picked a place near Silver Beach, and we absolutely made the right call. Opened in 2025, everything here feels brand new and spotlessly clean. The rooms are tidy and comfortable, the AC works great, and the bedding is soft — we slept really well. A special shoutout to the rooftop laundry area — the washing machine is brand new, clothes come out clean and dry fast, which is incredibly convenient for long-term travelers. The staff is genuinely thoughtful: they helped carry our luggage, brought us water daily, and even accepted parcels on our behalf. But what truly touched us was the hotel manager Lü Yuan — even though we're foreigners, he patiently helped us with everything. When we accidentally left our wallet behind after checkout, he immediately notified us and proactively mailed it back to us. That level of care and integrity is rare. The location is perfect — just 1 km walk to Silver Beach, with easy access to dining and transport. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Beihai, especially international guests — you'll feel completely at ease here!

The room is clean and bright, the toilet is clean, the bathroom space is quite large, the balcony can dry clothes, the proprietress and the boss are from the northeast, very enthusiastic, come to pick us up from the pier, and help us carry the suitcase, the proprietress will introduce us to the attractions as soon as she enters the hotel, very thoughtful, Before leaving, I also helped us install shells. It is also very convenient to rent a battery car. They are all very interesting friends.

The boss was very considerate and turned on the air conditioner for us in advance. As soon as we arrived at the B&B, he came to help us with our suitcases. He was very enthusiastic. The TV in the room won't turn on, come and help immediately. Very satisfied. It was just that the weather was cool this time, so it was a pity that I couldn't swim. The swimming pool in the B&B is also great. It is very close to Silver Beach. We go to the beach to play every day after waking up. The children are very happy.

Objective review: I. Hygiene: Meets expectations, 4.5/5. II. Environment: Exceeded expectations – the sea view and sunset were beautiful, 5/5. III. Service: Rather poor, only 2/5. 1) Breakfast was mediocre. 2) Response to requests was extremely slow. I asked for a children's toothbrush in the morning, and when I returned in the evening, it still hadn't arrived. I requested it again, and when it finally came, the packaging for the children's toothbrush contained the exact same type as an adult's. There were no children's slippers either. 3) The worst part, by far, was the restaurant! We ordered 5 dishes at 7:30 PM at the Chinese restaurant. By 8:30 PM, only 2 dishes had arrived. We eventually gave up waiting. The restaurant staff explained, ”We have to deliver food to guest rooms as well, so the serving speed is indeed very slow.” What kind of explanation is that? I was utterly confused. The next day, we decided to try a different restaurant for lunch. We went to the hotel's Western restaurant at 1 PM and asked the waiter if the food would be served quickly. The response was, ”There are still a few orders ahead that haven't been prepared, so it might be slow.” This clearly shows a lack of preparedness for the National Day holiday. 4) Crucially, room service was also very slow! On the second night, I ordered 4 beers (just beer, no food) at 7:30 PM, and they took 45 minutes to arrive! Absolutely unbelievable. IV. Facilities: Average, 3/5. During the National Day holiday, the last 1.3 kilometers from the foot of Guantouling mountain to the hotel was under traffic control (only cars of guests staying at the two hotels on the mountain were allowed up). However, on the checkout day, we had to go to the pier at the foot of the mountain for a yacht trip. We couldn't get a taxi (drivers refused due to the short 1.3 km distance). Walking down with two families and four suitcases was not an option, so we had to store our luggage. When we returned to pick up our bags, we had no choice but to pay extra for a taxi to make a round trip. Would it have been so difficult for the hotel to arrange a shuttle?

The location is excellent, but there are a lot of mosquitoes🦟. I was bitten several times within half an hour of arriving. When I entered the room, I found that the balcony door was open, and a bunch of mosquitoes🦟 were flying around. It didn't work even if I lit mosquito coils~ The air conditioning was average. The room we booked was on the first floor. Because of the age, the hotel equipment was relatively old. There was a huge cigarette hole🕳️ on the sofa🛋️… I don't know if the swimming pool was not open and there was no water. The breakfast was hard to describe. There were so many things, but none of them looked fresh. When I was eating breakfast, I looked out the window and saw a big mop hanging there. I lost my appetite~ Service praise for the security guard on duty that day. I forgot something on the electric car🛵, and the electric car🛵 was charging. He took us to find the things very late in the night. It was heartwarming.

I first stayed at the Summit Sunrise Hotel and then moved to the Ferris Wheel Hotel. I felt the rooms were a bit small, but all the shared facilities in the park were the same. The hygiene was excellent. There's a small entrance area with a washing machine, which was great for laundry and drying clothes. However, there were many outdoor air conditioner units near the entrance and outside areas, making the hallway very hot. Breakfast at the buffet restaurant was quite rich, though there could be a queue if you go later. Alternatively, you could use vouchers to redeem breakfast at other Chinese restaurants or bakeries that support it. The hotel amenities were also great; the kids enjoyed the swimming pool slides, and the park's style was perfect for photos. There's also a cinema and a gym. Overall, I felt it was better than Anaya, mainly because the surrounding area was more convenient, with a night market nearby for easy access to food and shopping. However, the cat petting and deer interaction were a bit disappointing. Children under ten aren't allowed to pet cats for safety reasons, and you have to buy food separately for the deer. I didn't get to try the noodle roll. The hotel also included tickets for the Ferris Wheel and the Daydream Water World, which was a nice bonus. Overall, it's a good one-stop hotel, especially suitable if you're traveling with kids. The only downside was that the check-in process was a bit noisy due to several hotels being in the same area. Before coming, a friend recommended this hotel, the location is near dripping Danping. The room was clean and comfortable, there was a pick-up service on the island, and welcome fruit. The staff were very friendly, especially Xiao Yang at the front desk. We were seasick due to the wind and waves on the island. Xiao Yang helped send warm sugar water to the room and tried to solve our problem. In particular, the hotel location is only a few minutes walk from Dishui Danping, you can check in at any time to take pictures to enjoy the beautiful sunset. In short, the experience is very good, will recommend to friends, have the opportunity to go again and choose to stay again. Attach photos of the room and restaurant for reference.

Room is just awesome.. nice beach view is there..i booked for 2 persons.. but our friends was also there..we stayed around 6 person...there is big 3 beds. Clean room.having wifi but TV remote was not working and tape of bath tub tape was also not working 😕
