We decided to treat ourselves to a supposedly plush hotel for a couple of nights in August (13/14). How wrong was I?! We arrived and booked in. Our initial thoughts were, the hotel is outdated and looks very tired. Not what we were expecting after paying so much money. Once booked in, we went upstairs and this is when our luxury stay turned into a nightmare. The bed sheets hadn’t been changed, there was mould in almost all corners of the room and the worst part was…….. we found splatters of blood on the pillows, bed sheet and duvet. It was like we high fived the previous occupant as they were checking out. We immediately went to reception and they apologised for the state of the room and housekeeping must have missed the room. :( they offered an alternative but our mind was already made up to leave. We left and found an alternative hotel. Cleaner, cheaper and a lot more updated than this place. I called the hotel manager on the Monday (15th) (I was told he wouldn’t be dealing with any complaints until then), he wouldn’t answer my calls and reverted to email correspondence only. Since this email, he has not responded to any of my phone calls or emails. It has now been 2 months since our planned stay. Long story short - the place is run down, they don’t clean the rooms properly, it’s over priced, the “customer satisfaction” is not their top priority; my advice - look elsewhere!! Still no refund!
