"The room is large, the decoration design is high-end and stylish, the hotel is in a good location, it takes 5 minutes to walk to the mall, the restaurant's dishes taste great, this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in Helsinki on this trip."
"The hotel is very good and the environment is very good, but the hotel is a bit old. The sea view room has a very beautiful view, but I forgot to book breakfast. Breakfast is 30 euros per person, which is a bit expensive!"
"The hotel is in downtown Helsinki. The location is pretty good and it's very convenient to get to the city. The hotel must be a bit old, but the rooms are not too small for Europe and are relatively comfortable to stay in. The price/performance ratio is also highly recommended."

"I don't want to give more points because of the rudeness of the behavior of a working gentleman. (We think it's racist behavior). Location is far from the center, easy to reach. There are no places around you to eat.
The hotel is clean. Breakfast is also successful."
"Strategically located and within walking distance to Helsinki Central Station for 30 minutes ride to Helsinki Vantaa Airport.
Walking to Old Market Hall, Senate Square, Helsinki Catheral and Uspenskin Katedraali.
Late checkout until 4pm possible by paying 20 Euro extension fees.
Highly recommended to stay for easy access to town area, shopping, grocery, restaurants and supermarkets. Daily Western breakfast buffet provided is adequate."
"This was honestly one of the coolest hotels I've stayed in one of the coolest cities I've been to. The decor is inline with the famous Helsinki train station, very art deco but with a modern twist. The gym and in-house sauna was a bonus. Buffet breakfast was also lovely. The location is also unbeatable."
"Executive room: The semi-deluxe room is larger and faces the street (it is really not recommended to stay on weekends. There is the hottest bar in the city downstairs. It is really exciting on weekends. It is like living next to a KTV, listening to loud music and singing to sleep)
Of course, jet lag may make you sleepy, but it does not affect your sleep, but the executive rooms along the street are really not recommended on weekends! The deluxe room is a patio interior view room. I personally think it is quieter and more suitable for sleeping!
Needless to say, the breakfast was very good! There are many varieties in Northern Europe, and there are many homemade delicacies in the hotel! Highly recommend having hotel breakfast!
The executive lounge is on the second floor, and the upper lounge opens on the right. From 2:00 to 6:00 every afternoon, there are some snacks, afternoon tea, fruit cookies, chocolates, etc. You can order a variety of wine, coffee, and drinks. Last order at 5:30pm. They are all free, the only ones that charge are those listed on the list. Others are free to use in the executive lounge. Executive rooms are available at any time.
Overall it's very good, from service to hardware and software! Unless you particularly like drinking and having afternoon tea, you can choose an executive room. If you want to have a good rest, choose a deluxe room~"
"Overall super satisfied
Environment: The location is very good. The entrance is the four-way tram 🚃. One-day tickets to the city center are available. The city center is tired and you can come back and rest before going out.
The hotel is prison style, but the decoration is very good, very beautiful, warm, there is a lockdown on the basement floor to visit, there are many photos of the previous prison in the corridor, very interesting
The bar at the front desk of the hotel is beautiful
Breakfast is particularly good, good quality and cheap, the variety is very complete, even without dumplings and vegetarian food, mango 🥭 concentrated juice is delicious, dinner and prison burger hahaha lunch is pasta buffet 13.5 euros good quality and cheap
Facilities: very complete, bathroom is not narrow, water pressure is enough, there are some
Hygienic: very clean
Service: Very enthusiastic front desk manager 🧑💼 introduced the background of the prison English has an accent but can basically understand
Cost-effective: very good in Europe, highly recommended"
"Great ,
Service was great, we arrived early and they allowed us to check in few hours earlier.
Breakfast was good too! Great location within the design district."
"The room is clean and provides slippers, shampoo, and bath gel. There is no toothpaste or anything. I think the breakfast is good. The location is good and it is convenient to go to various attractions. Although the room is arranged along the street, it is not noisy. You can choose a room not along the street, and the price will probably be different. Overall satisfied."

Amazing
GGuest UserI wish I could give 6 stars. 5 for the hotel which was the nicest in all of Helsinki. Central location in a beautiful building retrofitted for the hotel. Of course squeaky clean and modern tech galore. I see thoughtful small touches like fade-in/out lights, quality bedding, sound proofed windows etc at every corner. The extra star for working with me on an error I made during booking process without any fuss. Staff at front desk was very welcoming and professional as well. I really don’t have anything to even nit pick… I guess the standard room was not large by any standards but had high ceilings so it doesn’t feel cramped. And that’s it, can’t recommend more and believe the near 5 star rating by everyone.

Great
HheidiOverall, my recent stay with Bob W was disappointing.
I booked the 4-person penthouse room primarily for the use of the sauna on my last day of the trip.
Firstly, pin code provided was only valid for door access to the stairs, not door to the elevator side at night. This became a significant inconvenience, especially for a female traveler like myself who arrived at night after a tiring flight. Having to carry a 20kg luggage and a 10kg carry-on up five flights of stairs was both physically demanding and frustrating. Clear arrangements on how to access the elevator at night should have been considered for guest.
Secondly, check-in process was not clearly communicated, causing panic upon arrival. Unfortunately, I had to seek help from customer service on a third-party booking site and reach out via email to obtain a check-in link, which added unnecessary stress and confusion.
Furthermore, instruction for turning on the sauna were unclear, and I was unable to enjoy it until the next morning at 8am, just few hours before my checkout time. I had specifically chosen the penthouse room with the sauna for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. due to the lack of clear instructions, and had to seek assistance to figure out how to operate it properly, which ate into the limited time I had available to enjoy the amenity.
In conclusion, my stay with Bob W fell short of my expectations. The limited time to enjoy the amenities, issues during the check-in process and accessing the elevator, made for a less than satisfactory experience. I hope that Bob W seriously takes feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a more enjoyable stay for travelers in the future. Thank you

Great
VVon30Overall stay was ok. However room design was very weird. Bathroom floors were not heated which wasn’t great during the cold weather. Tried calling reception several times to request for an extra heater as the room heating wasn’t sufficient. Nobody answered and had to go down to reception to request for one. Funny thing is even the reception staff was not aware if it was available.
I have never been to a hotel where the staff at reception would answer me with “I don’t know” or I’m not sure, I need to check. Breakfast spread was good with many choices.

KKHAMINI CHANDRANHere’s an example review for Valo Hotel:
---
I recently stayed at Valo Hotel and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between modern design and cozy comfort. The rooms were impeccably clean, well-designed, and equipped with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. I particularly loved the smart layout, which maximized the space without compromising comfort.
The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any queries or special requests. The location was also a big plus—conveniently situated close to key attractions, public transport, and great dining options.
One standout feature was the wellness area. The sauna and fitness facilities were top-notch, offering the perfect way to unwind after a long day. The breakfast buffet was equally impressive, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options catering to different tastes and dietary preferences.
Overall, Valo Hotel provided an excellent stay that exceeded my expectations. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, I highly recommend it for its quality service, comfortable ambiance, and great amenities. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
GGuest UserIt takes about 30 minutes by train to reach Helsinki Central Station, but I didn’t find it inconvenient at all. There’s a well-stocked 24-hour supermarket right next to the hotel, which was incredibly convenient. The shared kitchen was well-equipped and easy to use even during dinner time. Everything was clean and well-maintained, the reception staff were kind, and the other guests were all friendly.
GGuest UserWe had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well.
We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo.
The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used!
The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin.
The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception.
There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea.
We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.

CComer the roamerI arrived before check-in and the front desk staff was kind enough to see if any rooms were ready and I even got an upgrade, which included a tv in the room so I could watch the 2024 Euro Cup! The walls were thin and my neighbor was a prolific snorer. As a solo traveler, it’s nice to have a fridge and fridge I can keep my food in when I don’t want to eat out a restaurant alone! The shower water was surprisingly hot and stayed consistent despite the motion activated sensors. The location is quiet and convenient if you’re a prolific walker like myself! (24,000 steps a day) The hostel also has a restaurant attached for a quick breakfast or dinner.

PPuvinPretty decent hotel, comfortable bed and clean room! Breakfast spread was good! Very near the airport and offers free shuttle! Gym was excellent! About 30-45mins commute to the city for sightseeing but u can take the shuttle to the airport and then train to the city!
GGuest UserNice location and friendly staff, and THAT’S ALL THE PROS.
GUEST WI-FI IS DOWN throughout my stay and no alternative network is available, then I missed one online meeting. BEDSIDE SOCKET IS BROKEN, making it impossible to use the phone or tablet while charging, and the ADVERTISING IS QUITE MISLEADING —I booked a single room at Trip.com, I thought it would be a room with private toilet, since nothing was mentioned in the title while other types of rooms are highlighted for the “shared bathroom”. Well, and the SOUNDPROOF can just be ignored.
Maybe ‘Hostel’ is better for the name.
GGuest UserThe distance is very close. There is no self-service check-in. The environment is not bad. There are shared bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens. You need to bring your own ingredients. The price is high and it is only about 1.5 kilometers away from Vantaa Airport. It is very cost-effective for those who want to travel for a short time or transfer. It's like living in a semi-forest! The heater is not very warm and the temperature is a bit low. I don’t know if the cold spot will be higher!
