Loudest place that we have ever stayed, not a great place to have a base camp for adventures if you are planning on hiking or doing day trips. They have loud music playing almost every night until about 2 AM and most tours you have to leave very early in the morning for. If you are in huaraz to party then it’s a good place to stay, if you are wanting peace and a good nights sleep I would absolutely recommend looking elsewhere. Everyone was very nice, just not a good environment for what most travelers come to huaraz for. No laundry on site while we were there. Hot showers were a plus.

They make parties at night and walls are not prepared to block noise. I had to cancel my second night and I didnt get the refund! Terrible. Cleanness was not enought and place wasnt well kept. Pictures are not true.

Horrible first night experience. They had a DJ on a terrace right across from our room. Started around 10. Signs inside our room in English and Spanish said Quiet Hours were from 11 PM to 7 AM and to please be considerate of guests. We had been on a bus from Lima to Huaraz that took almost 10 hrs and we didn’t get to the hotel until 8:50 PM. We were exhausted. I didn’t mind the music for the first 2 hrs. It was a Saturday and I tried to be understanding. But the 1 AM rolled around and the party was still going on. I went down to talk to the receptionist. She told me she didn’t know when it would be over. She went to check with the DJ, and she came back and said maybe another hour. I was frustrated. Went back to my room and put my noise canceling headsets in, which didn’t help much as the music and yelling and singing was really loud just outside my balcony. 2 AM rolls around and the party is still going strong and loud. 3 AM and still going on. I’ve had enough at this point. I go down and ask for the receptionist to call the police because there was not a phone in the room, and I have US phone service. She doesn’t call the police, but goes to talk to the DJ again. I go to my room in total frustration. We have a tour that starts at 8 AM and we haven’t gotten any rest. At 3:30 AM, they finally shut things down. I think if I hadn’t said anything, it would have gone on til dawn. Terrible experience

Huaraz is a town that’s all about outdoor activities. Most tours leave before 7am, hence a good night’s rest is important. However, the new manager of the hostel decided it’s a good idea to turn this into a party place with music so loud that we were afraid the windows would fall out. It also violated their own ‘quiet hours’ three days in a row. I’m sure you can earn more money by selling beers to non-guests, but it kind of ruins a perfectly good hostel for outdoorsy people. Location isn’t great either, and 80% of the towels had odd yellow spots. Building itself is stunning, and the facilities very comfortable.

Absolute disgrace of a "hotel". After over 30 hours of travelling from London without sleep, we were eager to have a shower and get some rest. However, when we arrived we were met by a giant nightclub-style party in the courtyard, with the music so loud it pervaded every part of the hotel. We checked in and of course, our room was facing the party (not that any room was safe from the noise). We went to reception and asked when it would end and were shown an information card saying it ends at midnight. We thought fine we can wait. So we went back to room to shower but guess what, no hot water. So we had cold showers and went to bed waiting for the music, which was literally shaking the room, to end. But it went on and on till 4AM, by which time we had throbbing headaches and were searching online for real hotels to move to. We joined a number of other angry people the next morning cancelling our remaining nights there. Save yourself the pain and avoid this place like the plague if you want to actually get some sleep.

The attention is the worst. The bed is like a rock. The hotel isn’t like the pictures of the ad. The hotel doesn’t want to deliver my ID document. When I do the check-out, the recepcionists were drunk and they didn’t return my ID document. Now I’m in another city, and they said don’t have the shipping service and don’t have the intention to help.

The place surprised me in a positive way on several occasions. This was my second ever stay at a hostel, and I didn't have many expectations. However, I can tell you that I now have a high expectation when it comes to other Selina hostels. The place is cool, there's plenty of common area for many kinds of activitites like workout, meditation, boardgames, watching movies or simply lying in the grass doing nothing. The first guy I met at the hostel, Christopher, is one of the nice people who not only helped me as a staff at the hostel, but also treated me as a friend from the start. The hostel also works together with a tour agency ran by Rodolfo, one of the kindest and most helpful people I met at the hostel. Ask him about any hiking-related questions you have and he will surely help you out.
