The good things: Regala Hotel is located around 800 meters away from Hong Hong International Airport. They provide free shuttle bus, and it takes around 10-15 minutes to get to the hotel from Terminal 1 and back. They also have shuttle busses to Tung Chung metro station, Disneyland and even Hong Kong-Macau-Zhuhai bus station, although it’s just twice a day.
My room was small but smartly designed, light colored with lots of mirrors so it looked bigger. There was everything I needed for a short stay. There’s a water machine in the corridor so you can use a dedicated
water bottle from the room to refill it.
There’s a small refrigerator under the table which is useful
There’s a pool, you can swim if the weather permits😅
The bad things:
The floor in the room looked like it wasn’t mapped. There was some hair in the bathroom drawers.
The light switches and bed sides had old dust on them
There was shampoo in the Shower Gel bottle

Nestled on Cheung Chau, this hotel is a hidden gem with a beautiful beach right at its doorstep. It offers convenient transportation to the airport and Disneyland, both also on the outlying islands, as well as easy access to Mong Kok and other city areas via bus and MTR. The owner is incredibly warm, polite, and friendly. The hotel itself is clean and hygienic, boasting a peaceful and comfortable ambiance with mountains at its back and the sea in front. They even provide BBQ facilities, and the breakfast is delicious and very filling. While the rooms are small, they are fully equipped and have everything you need. Overall, it was a great experience.

Though small, this hotel is well-equipped with everything you need. While it's a bit out of the way, the air quality is excellent, and the shuttle service to Tung Chung MTR station and the airport makes getting around incredibly convenient. There's also a convenience store and small restaurants right across the street, which is very handy. The breakfast spread is generous, and the Hong Kong-style dim sum is delicious. Next to the hotel, there's a riverside path where many people exercise in the mornings, and the air is so fresh. The room has toothbrushes and toothpaste, but no bottled water; you have to get water from the dispenser by the elevator. There's a standard USB port by the bed, but no Type-C, good thing I brought my own adapter!

The hotel is by the sea and very quiet. I booked a sea view room, and both the room and bathroom offered full sea views. The hotel breakfast was incredibly rich and varied. Although there aren't many dining options nearby, there's a large supermarket right next door that carries all the essentials. Taking the bus to the South District, you can enjoy the beach, go shopping, and find plenty of restaurants. Overall, it's quite suitable for a family vacation and relaxation.

We stayed in this hotel just to take our early morning flight. So we did not explore the location that much. Walking around a bit, not much to do, it is just to relax. The staff were helpful and friendly, helping us with booking morning taxi to the airport. The room was clean. No amenities (such as tooth brush, water, ...) at all. You need to have your own. Overall, It was ok.

The hotel service was very accommodating. They offer a free shuttle bus from the airport at parking spaces 9-15, and the driver even helped us with our luggage. Upon arrival, the front desk gave us a complimentary room upgrade since it was our first stay, which was a huge plus! 👍 I think the biggest highlight is that the hotel is directly connected to Citygate Outlets, making it perfect for checking in the day you arrive in Hong Kong. You can drop off your bags and head straight out to shop and enjoy some food. When you're tired, you can be back in your room in minutes to rest. 😴

The room was spacious and comfortable, a rare find in Hong Kong to have a standard room with a large bed. The sea view was beautiful, and the airport shuttle runs every half hour, which was very convenient once we timed it right. We also tried the hotel restaurant and buffet, both of which were excellent. It's my top choice for staying with my child during SAT exams, as it's just a three-minute walk through the connecting corridor.

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. I originally booked it for its proximity to Disneyland and Citygate Outlets, but everything about it was better than I thought it would be.
First off, it's located right above Citygate Outlets, which makes shopping, dining, and grocery runs incredibly convenient. Getting to Disneyland is also a breeze, and the hotel even offers a dedicated airport shuttle service, which is a huge plus. The high ceilings are another great feature, making it feel much more spacious and comfortable than other hotels I've stayed in during this trip, including those in the city and Macau. The cleanliness was also top-notch.
The only downside was the shower. Whether it was the overhead or handheld nozzle, the water pressure was just too low to enjoy a proper shower. I really hope they can improve that.

The room was pretty good. For a family with a seven-year-old, the beds here are wider than those at Four Points, at 1.35m, so the child can share a bed with a parent.
When booking through Ctrip, we received two packs of snacks and some water, but there was no free water at other times. There's a convenience store across the street where Snowflake beer is actually cheaper than water, haha! In the evenings, the restaurant next door offers discounted bento box meals which are very good value.
The highlight has to be the shuttle bus service to and from Tung Chung MTR Station and the airport.
The airport shuttle departs from the hotel at 45 minutes past the hour and takes about 15 minutes.
I took a picture of the Tung Chung shuttle schedule; it departs every half hour during morning and afternoon slots, so check it out if you need it.
The Ngong Ping 360 cable car is right by MTR Exit B. The hotel's shuttle drops you off near Exit A roundabout, just follow the path. We bought a combo ticket for the cable car and a Tai O boat trip through Ctrip on that day, and it was incredibly good value – highly recommended! We saw lion dances, the Big Buddha (like in Infernal Affairs), the fishing village, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, and General Rock. Definitely worth going!
During holidays, the Crystal Cabin queue moves much faster; I'm not sure about weekdays.
It's also quite close to Disneyland, just two stops away. The hotel itself is clean and relatively quiet. The building opposite was quite striking with its densely packed rooms.
YHA Ngong Ping Davis Youth Hostel is located on the high plains east of Ngong Ping, Lantau Island. It is a must-see for those who love Chinese history and culture and those who like to climb mountains. The hostel is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is also suitable for those who love nature and enjoy the quiet countryside. The famous Tian Tan Buddha, Po Lin Monastery and Heart Sutra Forest are all within easy reach. The Phoenix Mountain facing the hostel is 934 meters above sea level and is a great place to watch the sunrise (it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach the top). If you want to stroll around Ngong Ping Market or try the Ngong Ping Cable Car, the journey will only take a few dozen minutes. The hostel is currently open seven days a week. Members are kindly requested to make reservations in advance.
From Tung Chung: Take bus No. 23 from Tung Chung Bus Terminal to Ngong Ping Bus Terminal and walk towards Po Lin Monastery. At Po Lin Monastery, follow the path on the left side of the old public toilet and follow the hostel sign for about 5 to 10 minutes to reach the hostel.

Expectation/Reality: this is the only provider of accommodation in the area so expectations need to be managed. They have the ability to essentially set terms, so the negative reviews here are likely from the folks who didn’t read the find print. The photos match the space very well. However the hostel reached out over what’s app a number of days before the booking asking for the $150 membership fee and $500 deposit, which I was not comfortable providing until arrival, however the hostel was okay with that.
Security: very good, there is a gate lock and a lock to the door, very safe.
Hygiene: overall very clean, no concerns.
Hospitality: the check in and out process is all over what’s app, so you are at the mercy of how responsive they are which can be frustration when trying to get in. Once you are in, it’s fine.
Social Atmosphere: good social spaces.
Overall: given they essentially have a monopoly on accommodation in the area. It’s a pretty good spot. I accidentally broke the key and they came and fixed it the next day, but took off $50 from the deposit. So handle the keys gently. Over pretty good place.

Good
GGuest UserLocated in Wan Chai, the hotel boasts a great location and has been recently renovated. The room isn't huge, but it's fully functional and doesn't feel cramped for two people; it's quite comfortable. The soundproofing in the room is also good. One thing I couldn't quite understand is why, during the renovation, they didn't update the charging outlets to be more universal. I still needed an adapter for my Apple devices, and it was easy to accidentally hit the switch, which would stop the charging.
GGuest UserThis hotel definitely exceeded my expectations! For a price over HKD 1,000, I was expecting a tiny room in Hong Kong, but to my surprise, it was a suite. It had a living room with a sofa, coffee table, and dining table, and the bedroom had a super large bed. Plus, all the details in the bathroom were very clean.
The hotel staff were very nice, and their Mandarin was good. Breakfast was semi-buffet style, where you could order one set meal, and all four I tried were delicious. You could even see parrots flying outside the window while having breakfast.
The biggest advantage of this hotel is its convenient location. It's about two bus stops from Admiralty Station (or walkable, really), a 200-meter walk from the Peak Tram Macdonnell Road Station, and within walking distance of Hong Kong Park and Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. Highly recommend!
GGuest UserThis hotel is located in the bustling Yau Ma Tei district, very close to popular attractions like Mong Kok and Victoria Harbour, making transportation incredibly convenient. You can take the A21 Citybus directly from the airport, and the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. There are numerous 7-Eleven stores and Mannings pharmacies nearby, as well as many cha chaan tengs (Hong Kong-style cafes) for dining options. Victoria Harbour is a straightforward two-kilometer walk away, and the West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station is also just 1.5 kilometers on foot, passing by the Instagrammable Old Yau Ma Tei Police Station on the way. The hotel facilities are new and very modern. There's a coffee machine in the lobby offering complimentary coffee in the mornings. Both the front desk staff and the housekeeping team are very friendly.
LLiangdeaodesaiThe hotel is right next to Causeway Bay and Victoria Park, and it's less than a 10-minute walk to Causeway Bay MTR station, so the location is great. The executive rooms are on the higher floors and offer sea views, which is a nice touch. The room isn't huge but it has everything you need and is well-equipped. The bedding is comfortable, and it offers good value for money.
AAnonymous UserLocated in the Southern District of Hong Kong Island, the hotel offers convenient public transport connections to Central, Causeway Bay, and other areas. The Chinese Rhenish Church is also right next door.
LLingchuanwangxianzhiThe place is quite clean and tidy, with good hygiene. The location is also very convenient, right above Mirador Mansion, which is close to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station and many shopping centers. It's also very easy to find places to eat.
The front desk staff are extremely polite! It's suitable for mainland compatriots.
PPositivelyUWe had a fantastic time at the Grand Bay View! The room was cosy and clean, but the real star was the view—sunrise over the beach was spectacular. The location is perfect; you can walk down to the beach in seconds.
The free shuttle to the MTR is a great perk, but the real money-saver is Bus A38 right outside. It takes you directly to the airport for only 20 HKD (much cheaper than a taxi!). The staff were lovely and even lent us a plug adapter when we realised the sockets were different, as well as an iron and an ironing board.
Just a heads-up: they don't provide free bottled water, toothbrushes, or daily towel changes unless you ask. Also, we weren't fans of the on-site restaurant, so we ordered in. But honestly, the kitchenette in the room was perfect for making our own tea and coffee. Highly recommend for the views and value!
RRegina Isabel DiazUpon our arrival the staff at the hotel were so nice and very accommodating.. they even upgrade our room..
-Our room is nice and clean.. everyday they clean our room and get our trashes..
-everyday they serve bread in the morning for free and they have 24/7 free coffee and water at the lobby..
-it has lots of store within the area
-affortable price
The only disadvantage i can think of is that its a bit far from the mrt station.. esp if you have kids like us that we carry and walk a bit far everyday from the station.. though the area is okay bec theres a lot of store, 7/11 and restos
Thank you so much starphire!
GGuest UserSecond time visiting! Exactly same room for the single bed type.
Although room space is really limited (7 m² maybe), it really one of my best places to stay for budget!
It located at the center of Wan Chai, which it is easily connected to those CBDs e.g. Central and Causeway Bay.
Just experience the building of old Hong Kong here.
Thanks again in bring new life to these kind of buildings.
GGuest UserTwenty years ago, when I first visited Hong Kong on a tour, I stayed at the Rambler Garden Hotel next door. Back then, this entire complex had just opened, and this area wasn't even on my Hong Kong friend's new map. From my room, I could see the Stonecutters Bridge under construction and the container terminal below. Back then, we had bulky CRT TVs on the windowsills; now, there are flat-screen TVs mounted on the walls.
The hotel is very clean, and housekeeping is prompt and thorough. The room is quite small, which is typical for Hong Kong. The wardrobe and other furniture haven't been replaced in twenty years, and some pieces are showing wear and tear. The mini-fridge, which used to be under the wardrobe, is now on the windowsill. The nightstand, previously between the two beds, has been moved to the side closer to the bathroom. Some of the worn areas definitely need timely repairs.
Tsing Yi is a relatively secluded island, and as one of only two hotels here, transportation relies on minibuses 88F and 88G plus the MTR, which is reasonably convenient. Because of its somewhat remote location, the big advantage is the excellent value for money. For the same price, hotels in areas like Jordan or Central would be even smaller and lack any cabinets or chairs.
WeChat Pay and Alipay are widely accepted in many places, though a few smaller shops still hold out, accepting only cash.
All three meals can be had at the Café de Coral restaurant on L1. There's also a convenient ParknShop supermarket where you can top up your Octopus card at the checkout. On L1, you'll also find a Bank of China (Hong Kong) ATM. You can withdraw Hong Kong dollars directly using any UnionPay debit card; it automatically converts the currency, and I found the exchange rate to be quite good at 0.88. There's a flat fee of HK$10 per transaction.
Twenty years ago, the hotel used to sell Disneyland tickets. Now, it's so easy to buy tickets online via mobile, so that service is no longer offered.
That's all I can think of for now. Time to rest.
