I recently stayed at the Britannia Hotel in Manchester and wanted to share my thoughts. Location: The location is definitely one of the hotel’s strongest points. It’s super accessible to all forms of transport, whether you’re arriving by train, bus, or tram. It’s right in the city center, so you can easily explore Manchester without much hassle. Parking: The parking arrangement is convenient if you’re driving, especially with free parking between 8 pm and 8 am. Outside of those hours, you’ll need to pay, so keep that in mind if you’re staying for longer stretches. Hotel Condition: This is where the hotel shows its age. The building is very old, and while it has some charm, it could definitely use an upgrade. You can feel the wear and tear in the common areas and some of the rooms. Rooms: The rooms are a mixed bag. The basic rooms are just that—basic. They’re not particularly comfortable, and if you’re picky about where you sleep, you might feel underwhelmed. Very satisfied with my stay. Good location, very close to train station. Tasty breakfast (however it tends to get crowded, it'd be better to have more tables). Clean room, towels were changed every day. There's a TV, hairdryer and a kettle with basic tea a coffee selection. Comfortable bed with multiple pillows to choose from. The only downside of this hotel was the shower as the water didn't drain.

I stayed at Moxy Manchester while on a work do, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The hotel is in the perfect location—right in the heart of town, close to everything you need. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, even offering a complimentary welcome drink, which was a lovely touch. Took my mum for a treat and for her to reminisce. wow!! We were not disappointed, it was a fantastic stay. The Building and architecture is stunning, huge tall ceilings and windows. Beautiful tiles everywhere, elegant dining and meeting rooms. Our room was fab, two double beds, lovely free snack box, posh teas and coffees. We loved the 5pm social hour, a chance to mingle with the other guests and an hour of free drinks and snacks. Breakfast was also great, it was extremely busy as the hotel was fully booked the night before so I did feel the staff were overstretched and there was a wait for fresh eggs and tea / coffee… but hey we were in no rush. Just beautiful… can’t wait to go again.

We had a weekend break at the hotel. The room was very clean. There is a minibar containing soft drinks and the room was spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. The staff from front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant and bar were all excellent and we will definitely returning in the future

GGuest UserStaycity is great, although they duplicate charged me which I have already paid thought agent earlier. Agent helped me to contact Staycity and they corrected it immediately. When I arrived Staycity, they knew and told me the money would be refunded to my credit card shortly.
Staycity is my second time to stay, it is convenient, clean, kitchen, bathroom, bedding….. room size, everything is great. I absolutely will recommend my friends to stay here when they visit Manchester.

AAnonymous UserGood place to stay for easy access to airport and travel links lukebtrain, trams and bus. Good food, especially breakfast. They have breakfast foods available for those who are leaving to catch early flights as well.
The place can be somewhat dusty and not good for those with dust allergies or asthma.
Had booked the accessible room which is nice and big. The only issue is that its far away from the main lifts and the carpet is a pain to drag wheels on.

I recently stayed at the ibis budget Manchester Airport, and it exceeded all my expectations for an airport hotel. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, comfortable, and incredibly convenient.
The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the terminals and perfect for early flights. Check-in was quick and friendly, and the staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful.
My room was spotlessly clean, modern, and surprisingly quiet considering the proximity to the airport. The bed was comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, and the overall layout was simple but very well designed. For the price, the value is outstanding.
I also appreciated the 24/7 reception, handy vending options, and the overall sense of safety and efficiency. Everything worked exactly as you’d hope before or after a long journey.
Overall, ibis budget Manchester Airport is a fantastic choice for travelers looking for comfort, convenience, and great value. I would definitely stay here again!

I did not expect more than a bed to sleep close to the center of Manchester for the price I paid for the stay and they offered so much more with the friendliness and professionalism of the frontdesk service staff, the varied breakfast and comfortable bed. The hotel is however a bit outdated and I missed a usb plug in the room for charging mobile as I am a European traveller and the plug is different. Luckily front desk helped me with an adapter for the night. I also had a small lunch at the Garden restaurant and whether you go there for a drink or food you will find nice staff and you can taste the freshness of the products used.
All in all, great value for money.

GGuest UserStaff were really helpful, and the reception, bar area looks so pretty with the lights everywhere. The bedroom doors were very tired looking and didn't live up to the rest of the hotel. Our AC didn't work, and you couldn't open the window, we did call down to reception and the lady said she could control it but it didn't change and was very hot.

AAnonymous UserDuring my recent stay at this hotel, I found the overall experience to be enjoyable with top-quality fittings and furnishings. However, there were areas that required improvement. The hotel itself is pleasant, but enhancing the service and room cleaning would significantly improve the guest experience.
A standard room was paid for but a disability-accessible room was provided. We requested to change it to a standard which was done immediately without any questions. No water bottles were provided in the room initially; they were only given on request and only two small bottles were provided. Additionally, the room cleaning service was unsatisfactory. Despite requesting it twice over 4 nights, the cleaner only changed the sheets once and neglected to take out the bins vacuum, replace towels or clean the bathroom. This was particularly disappointing given the length of my nearly week-long stay.
The breakfast was beautifully presented with various options but unfortunately remained the same every day lacking any variation. Some areas were particularly poor. For instance, the scrambled eggs had a distinct smell and were overly watery. Adding tomatoes or simply varying the options every few days would have improved the experience.
One concern we had was the cleaning team. Twice the cleaner used his universal card to enter our room without ensuring no one was present. My partner was in the shower and our young baby was asleep. We heard a knock but were unable to reach the door in time. Upon reaching it we realised he was already entering. This occurred twice and on the following day we decided to chain the door for privacy reasons.
In other hotels we have stayed in, privacy is of the utmost concern for staff and they would never even risk opening someone’s locked door without making sure. A better system needs to be in place here.

The room was great and had everything you could need, and I loved the fact that all the toiletries are plant based! The location was also amazing, just round the corner from the nightlife if you wanted it (but completely silent from inside your room). It's very central so really easy access to anything you could want really.
Would definitely stay there again and already recommended it to some friends.

Arrived at reception and was greeted by a friendly staff,and made very welcome, was pleased to find out the parking to be free.filled in the relevant paperwork and received my room card.went to our room and found it to be nice and clean and all the needed requirements for the over night stay.i would definitely book another stay here if I needed an overnight stay and would recommend it to family and friends.

GGuest UserMy mom and I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. The location is perfect, which is actually in the city center. It is close to Victoria train station, Piccadilly station, tram and Piccadilly garden bus station. So you can go everywhere in an easy way.
The room is clean, comfortable, warm and quiet, with hot water and high speed free wifi. The reception staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed quite an amazing journey here.
