CchristiatheoMy stay at Novotel London Canary Wharf was overall very solid, with a few standout moments that made it memorable. The first thing that struck me was the hotel’s modern feel. Everything from the reception area to the corridors had a clean, stylish look. Check-in was quick, and the staff were polite and professional, though not overly personal. It felt efficient rather than warm—but still perfectly pleasant. The room itself was comfortable and well thought out. The bed was great for a good night’s sleep, and the blackout curtains worked really well—ideal if you want to fully rest after a busy day. The room wasn’t huge, but it made smart use of space, and everything felt practical. The view was definitely a highlight, especially if you’re on a higher floor—you get a great look at the surrounding Canary Wharf skyline. Facilities were another plus. The gym was well-equipped for a hotel, and the swimming pool was a nice bonus, especially for unwinding in the evening. However, it can get a bit busy at peak times, which slightly takes away from the relaxing vibe. The rooftop bar is probably the hotel’s best feature. The views are genuinely impressive, and it has a more premium feel compared to the rest of the hotel. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but that’s expected given the location and setting. Location-wise, it’s ideal if you’re staying in Canary Wharf for work or prefer a quieter part of London. It’s not as lively as central areas like Soho or Shoreditch, but transport links are excellent, so getting around isn’t an issue. On the downside, the lifts were occasionally slow, especially during busy hours, and the breakfast area could feel crowded. The breakfast itself was decent, though not particularly memorable. Overall, Novotel London Canary Wharf offers a reliable, comfortable stay with great views and solid amenities. It may not feel ultra-luxurious, but it delivers good value and a pleasant experience in one of London’s most modern districts.

AAnonymous UserWe stayed at the Wilde Aparthotel Aldgate Tower Bridge for two nights at the end of August and had a rather underwhelming experience. We expected more from this hotel, judging by its ratings online. As Coldplay was in town (our reason for visiting London), prices were higher than average. The hotel is a five-minute walk from Aldgate East and about eight minutes from Aldgate Station. Liverpool Street Station is technically in walkable distance aswell, though taking the bus there is easier, with a stop right in front of the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend walking to Whitechapel for the Elizabeth Line – the walk felt long, annoying, and unsafe. Also, avoid walking further down the road toward McDonald’s after dark – sketchy atmosphere, and we saw two police scenes within those five mins of walking. Walking to Aldgate or Liverpool Street is safer. The arrival was.. odd. No one greeted us, and we waited in the lobby for several minutes before someone finally helped us at a not-so-clean high table. The staff member seemed demotivated and spoke very quietly, though check-in was quick. Unfortunately, we were charged twice despite prepaying nearly a year earlier through a third party. This was resolved after I spoke with the manager, but I was surprised it was marked as a “user error” on our invoice, and no small gesture like waiving the early check-in fee was offered for the inconvenience. We were given a room on the 9th floor. The corridors are dim, with black walls and stuffy air despite it being just 22 degrees outside. The “triple room” is simply too small for three adults. The storage areas under the twin beds is smart, and there is a small wardrobe with two drawers, but oddly no safe to store your valuables. A table and chair cramped the room unnecessarily and looked cheap compared to the rest. The sofa bed was decent but had a pretty thin mattress and annoying metal railings that can be a little annoying when standing up / lying down; there was also no nightstand, only a photo shelf right above it where you really can’t put anything. The kitchen area becomes very narrow once the sofa bed is pulled out. The fridge and sink were great, but the bins were tiny and filled up after just one day. The bathroom was also cramped, with practically no counter space. No toothbrush cups, Q-tips, or cotton pads were provided – unusual for a 4-star property. The soap dispenser was nearly empty and even fell out of its holder, and none of the dispensers were secured/locked, which isn’t hygienic (most hotels have that nowadays, for a reason!). We didn’t know where to go with dirty towels as there was no designated spot for them and no space. The heated towel holder being *right* next to the toilet is weird and inconvenient. We had the AC running for hours & hours on end, yet it barely managed to cool down the room to an acceptable temp. At least it was quiet enough to keep on at night. The TV had few channels but casting worked very well. Light controls were fine, and the blackout blinds were excellent– also essential, since the windows aren’t tinted from the outside. On the positive side, the room was clean, beds were comfortable, and it was quiet at night despite the hotel being full. We skipped breakfast as there are better options near Liverpool Street Station that we wanted to try out. All in all, our first ever stay at a Wilde property was just okay. The location is central but not particularly the nicest, the staff lacked warmth, and the triple room was way too small for three adults. It should not be sold as a triple for three adults and would be better suited for parents with a small child. I imagine the higher room categories might do a better job of accommodating three adults. We had what we needed; a clean room with good public transport connections. However, we wouldn’t stay here again as there’s better options out there.

JJacktyThe hotel is located not too far from the DLR station and the free breakfast is a nice gesture to kickstart the day. It’s very near to Canary Wharf. The manager Helene was very helpful and friendly.

JJane StaceyI have stayed at the Dilly on numerous occasions and never been disappointed. But this time, unfortunately, it didn’t quite tick all the boxes for me. I booked the Dilly because it was my daughter‘s birthday while we were staying and on previous occasions I had stayed for my own birthday and a friends . The Dilly always made it feel special. I did email the hotel and informed them it was my daughter’s birthday plus when we checked in and left our bags earlier that morning on arrival, we was asked was it for any occasion and I told the reception staff that it was for my daughter’s birthday. We arrived earlier than check-in and the room was not ready which we didn’t expect it to be. We just wanted to leave the cases which wasn’t a problem. We was told that we would be priority when a room was ready and would contacted us when it was available, which was great. But we intended on going shopping anyway so that wasn’t a problem at all. We were willing to wait till 3 o’clock for the check-in time anyway. We never got a call to say that the room was ready but we came back to the hotel around 3:30. We were allocated a room on the second floor. I had booked a superior King. The room was nice. It was just on the same hallway as the dining room. When we entered the room, I must admit I expected it to have some recognition of my daughter‘s birthday. Normally they write on the mirrors with some fruit and chocolate treats but there was nothing at all. I did go down to reception without my daughter, knowing because obviously she was unaware as she had not stayed at the Dilly before and I had a word with reception to see if they had stopped recognising when you were celebrating a special occasion. The lady said had I not informed them that it was her birthday to customer Relations which I told her I had and she said leave it with me and she would sort it out and asked when her birthday was , which was the next day. True to her word when we got back to the room the day after it was all trimmed up with sweet treats bottle of Prosecco and balloons on the bed which was amazing and i was so happy that Dilly had done and more than I expected in the first place. I rang reception straight where to thank them for what they had provided for my daughter’s birthday and the recognition of the lady that had done it for her. Reception told me that there was no one from custom Relations on that evening but they would pass the message on in the morning. Later to that evening. I had a phone call from reception, from lady saying that she was customer Relations and asking me if I wanted the room trimming up and it would be £90 for my daughter‘s birthday! I was most confused and said the Room had already been trimmed up! She told me she was just reading her emails about me requesting the room to be trimmed and that they charge £90 for it and I said to her I’d never ask for the room to be trimmed. I just had said it was my daughter‘s birthday and even if I had it would be a bit late to be ringing me at 6:40 at night on the day of their birthday to see if I wanted it trimming up it really just didn’t make sense to me at all which I told us or too. She told me that I wouldn’t be charged for the decorations that had already been done and rightly so as that’s not what I had requested and I’m not going to lie it did spoil what they had provided. When I booked the Dilly Hotel this time I didn’t actually book it through their website. I booked it through another company and didn’t realise that it was having renovations done. If I had I maybe would not have booked it to be honest. Although it didn’t massively impact our holiday as you are not in your hotel all the time. It was in the main reception and our room was on the second floor not only was it noisy because of the location near the dining room people walk past and being loud from early in the morning there was also noise from the works that was being done. With exception of the staff on arrival I found the r

GGuest UserThe staff's service attitude was excellent, but the facilities left much to be desired. The bathroom fixtures were quite old, and the shower, in particular, wasn't designed for Asian heights, making it difficult to control the water flow. Washing was a real struggle, and there were several clogs, impacting cleanliness. Overall, it was a very inconvenient experience. Additionally, the hotel room faced the street, so the constant noise of passing cars was unavoidable. If you're a light sleeper, it would be extremely hard to fall asleep!!

LLiyaniuThe room was incredibly small! I couldn't believe how tiny 10 square meters felt. I was genuinely shocked when I opened the door. It was even difficult to open my luggage. The table was pathetically small, and there wasn't even a chair. Storage space was extremely limited. The bathroom was even tinier, comparable to an airplane lavatory. Overall, my stay was very uncomfortable. The only positives were the comfortable bed and the breakfast, which at least offered some variety. After a difficult two nights, I decisively moved to the Hilton across the street, and the experience was significantly better. What baffles me is that this place was even more expensive than the Hilton. On the whole, dining and getting around were very convenient, with various UCL colleges in the vicinity. There's a Nero Cafe right next door, so if you don't want the hotel breakfast, you can grab something there. Heading south down the street, you'll find quite a few Chinese restaurants, which is very handy.

LLipengzhixieThis is my go-to hotel whenever I'm in London for business. Given how expensive London can be, it's quite a large property, and the price definitely fits within our company's overseas expense policy. It's conveniently located, just a five to six-minute walk from the nearest tube station. The rooms are quite spacious for London standards, though they don't compare to a Hilton in China. The facilities are a bit dated but well-maintained, although the bathroom is on the smaller side. The front desk staff are really friendly, and there's a lovely festive atmosphere during the Christmas season. They also provide two complimentary bottles of mineral water daily.

SShimengleThe hotel's location is incredibly safe and convenient, with a metro station and bus stops just a five-minute walk away, making getting around super easy. There are also plenty of eateries around the hotel, which is a huge plus. However, the hotel's hygiene is really subpar. We stayed for three days, and the sheets were never changed. All they did was flatten the duvet, and there were breadcrumbs all over the floor and on the sofa that were never cleaned up. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're particular about cleanliness.

GGuest UserAsked for 2 quiet rooms far from stairs, but was given one at the basement near to the stairs. Paper thin walls where vacuum cleanings were done probably in the restaurant next door at 9-10pm nightly, and patrons from the restaurant loitering at the pavement outside every night. Otherwise clean rooms and good location.

2201675****The room was tiny, barely enough space to turn around, and once we opened our suitcases, they completely blocked the door. As for the shower, it was barely usable, just enough to get by. The upside is the incredibly convenient location. It's right next to Paddington Station and the tube, making it super easy to get anywhere. Hyde Park is just a few hundred meters away – perfect for a stroll through the park, enjoying the scenery, and feeding the pigeons. Buckingham Palace is only about a kilometer further. During the Christmas season, Regent Street is just four bus stops and a hundred-meter walk away. It was quite expensive, but that's London for you. It really depends on what you prioritize. If you just need a place to sleep that's well-located for exploring, it's a decent option.
