Grand opening in 2022. The first 16-room resort lifestyle hotel in Nikko's 1,300-year history. "This is the real Nikko." A lounge service that allows you to experience nature as if it were a painting or a work of art, and promises a fulfilling hotel stay. A haven (SHELTER) in nature, protected from the modern society of convenience, efficiency, and the rush for time. The hotel is not made to be perfect, and the resulting misalignments and distortions lead to the warmth and sense of security that comes from touching natural materials. It is a travel destination where you can encounter new values, such as "reexamining our everyday lives that have become more convenient."

All the staffs are professional, very service oriented and special mention to the room service is super super prompt! Room amenities are luxurious! Bed and blanket is so fluffy! Breakfast portion is huge and fresh. We were able to use the shuttle service for check in and out, only got a cab at the Nikko train station when we return late at around 7pm.

The place is a 25-30 minute walk from the Tobu Nikko station, but you can actually take bus going there. However we didn't know the buses only run until 3 in the afternoon so we had no choice but to walk an uphill road. However it was a very fun experience and the hike was worth it as soon as we were able to take a rest in this humble pension house. The owner was very accommodating, gave us strawberry ice cream and even offered us a ride to the station the next morning. I would say that this place gave us the best definition of ”omotenashi”. Someday when we go back in Nikko , we'll surely stay here once again.

EEls 300377I had a truly wonderful stay at Hatago Nagomi. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their hospitality made us feel so welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay. The food was absolutely amazing. Every meal was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The dishes were not only delicious but also showcased the freshness and quality of the ingredients. It was truly a highlight of our trip. The view from the hotel was breathtaking. Overlooking Lake Chuzenji, the scenery was peaceful and stunning, especially in the morning. Waking up to such a beautiful view made our stay even more memorable. Thank you to the entire team at Hatago Nagomi for the excellent service, super nice food, and unforgettable hospitality. We would definitely love to come back again!

SShirley Fong 8Nikko Station hotel Classic located at a strategic location:-👍 (a) opposite its hotel ( cross the zebra crossing) is the entrance of JR Nikko Station 🚉 ( JR Nikko line 💚) -5-8mins walk (2) clean n neat modern Japanese bed with rather big bathroom (3) morning breakfast is at level one with 24hrs coffee n tea vending machine besides for hotel guests . (5) Simply falls in love with its Sukura restaurant its Tempura Don. very delicious 😋👍 although its small . (6) Hotel is conveniently located along a long stretch of shopping streets with another Railway station ( Tohoku station 🚉) nearby. 11002021962The environment is elegant, and I really liked the Western and Japanese style rooms. The spa was also very comfortable 😌... Breakfast is too early, 7:30 and 8:00 – I'm still half asleep! This is a vacation, not going to work. Can't the time be pushed back a bit? We booked dinner, but we arrived late at 7:50 PM, and dinner was gone. We had called them at 7:10 PM to let them know we were stuck in traffic, but the hotel said dinner was gone and wouldn't refund us 😏.

MMargaret TomLove the area and the outdoor public baths. The meals were good. My husband complained that there’s no meat but I like all the vegetarian dishes provided. Tasted very good. There’s a small fried fish and few sashimi slices. My husband rates the food to be 3/10 while I rate it 5/10 as I am amazed at how they make vegetarian dishes so well. They do not serve any fish for breakfast which is quite unlike other ryokan we had been to. They had more vegetables and an egg for breakfast. I liked it though. The ryokan had free shuttle service for pick up and drop off to coincide with the bus times, very convenient, responsible and timely.

TTsusiefirst of I would like to thanks always trip.com for very nice & convinient bookings everytime,we stay new sakura hotel, because the interior of the hotel is mostly sakura theme, the carpet, the gorgeous chandelier, the wall design, etc.or cherry blossom in Japan,& so very affordable prize,we spend only 18,000 yen for 2 adults, with 2 breakfast & 2 dinner.Very near from kinugawa onsen station, only 3 hrs.from Tokyo. We amazed the room,so very big for the two of us,for very cheap prize, can accomodate even 10 person, the buffet breakfast & dinner also is so good but the most I want to share is the drink all you can alcohol beverages for 1 hour, like beer, japanese wine, sours, all kinds of softhdrinks,I enjoyed for self service alcohol drink all you can!the hotspring also is very good but the cons is take care in the outdoor spring because of the concrete stairs, especially for the elderly when slippery, there's & a little bit far from our room, the young staff also at the counter is nice & most of them are young japanese lady,so very entertaining,so many free amusement like billiard, majong, etc.with a nice sorrounding sightseeng site.& last after check out they give 2000 yen discount coupon for the next visit,Thanks God & trip.com for a nice autumn tour moment in kinugawa onsen Tochigi Perfecture Japan

GGuest UserGreat value for money (what more could you ask for? LOL), unbeatable views, and a large public bath. Breakfast and dinner are mainly Western-style, perfect for introverts looking to relax. It's a bit of a walk from Chuzenji Onsen Station, about 10-15 minutes if you're pulling luggage. Chuzenji Post Office is a bit closer. Perhaps because it's winter, all the shops nearby were closed, so it's best to stock up on food before heading up the mountain.

JJ. SimonThe hotel is around 10mins walk from Kinugawa-Onsen Station. Although there are many abandoned hotels, shops, residences, buildings around the surrounding area, I can still explore the area as the street lights are lit in the evening. The hotel is divided into different wings and occupies a large area. I stayed in the upper floors of the hotel’s main building (Kirakukan) but there’s an option to stay at the hotel’s park-cottages that is built on the cliff of the riverbank and overlooks the Kinugawa river. The Kinugawa Park Cottage is located separately further away from the main building. I only noticed a local Japanese family of four or five persons being escorted by the hotel staff to one of the cottages. Other than that one-off encounter, I didn’t see anyone else at the area around the cottage which is also super quiet. Likewise for the other wings of the hotel i.e. Kinoyakata and Kishintei, I didn’t see any guests maybe due to low season. Love the onsen and the private open-air bath, the traditional Japanese kaiseiki breakfast and dinner. There’s also a souvenir shop, ramen & snack shop as well as an outdoor swimming pool which I couldn’t use as it is only available for use come summer time. Just across the road from the hotel, there’s the Waterside Cafe Terrace, a 7-Eleven convenience store adjacent to the hotel and since there’s no self-service washing machine/dryer in the hotel, the nearest 24h laundromat is around a 5-min walk from the hotel located behind the Waterside Cafe Terrace and across the road facing “Galarie Cafe Painto E”. On the day of check-out, the hotel helped to store my luggage and I had lunch at “Suzukawa Cafe” just next to Galarie Cafe Painto E. The food prices here are slightly cheaper than the ones near Kinugawa-Onsen station.

GGuest UserI had a truly wonderful day at this hotel on March 2, 2026. The front desk staff, Ms. Qing, was incredibly professional and multilingual. She explained the hotel's policies and information clearly and politely, making me feel like I had stepped into a five-star hotel. I also enjoyed both dinner and breakfast; the food was delicious and perfectly suited my taste. Ms. Qing also handled the restaurant service, and I was amazed at how she could manage so many tasks simultaneously while providing such excellent service. She was very attentive not only to me but also to other guests, and I was extremely satisfied. The hotel was very quiet, and it was a memorable and lovely stay. I would definitely like to return when I have the time.

GGuest UserI don’t understand why someone would leave a negative review due to their own negligence. Trip.com clearly mentioned the additional 300-yen tax (I assume this is the onsen tax) per person, yet they still claimed they were “scammed.” My overall experience at Hotel Euro City was wonderful. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the shuttle bus service was amazing. If you want to get to the hotel easily, check the shuttle schedule on the hotel’s homepage so you don’t have to walk from the station. They run it every day at 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15 from “Nikko Station Hotel Classic,” right next to JR Nikko Station. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the onsen in the backyard was great. It’s true that the room had a mild smell, but I assume it was due to recent pest control (it smelled like pesticide). Just open the windows for a while and it goes away. Breakfast was okay—not as fancy as in the advertisements, maybe because it wasn’t peak season. Overall, I think this is a very good choice, especially if you’re traveling with family.
